REFRESHER:

I saw my mother's eyes widen, and Aspen was on high alert. Elizabeth murmured, "well they might be friendly.." I sighed. "Yes, but they may not be as well. We need to stay safe," Mother said, earning a side look from Elizabeth.

"I think we just need to stay inside and make sure all the doors and windows are locked all the time when we arnt using them." I said, seeing if they would agree. "It's about all we can do right now.." my mother trailed off.

I was laying on my bed, trying g to think of what to do next. Maybe I should draw? Mm maybe. Oh! I know! I'll scavenge a bit.

I headed down the hall into the living room, where mother was helping Elizabeth read a book. "Mother?" I said, catching her attention. "Yes Dusk?" She said with a smile, turning her head to look at me. "Were running low of supplies... again.. do you mind if I go scavenging?" I said hopefully.

"Alright, but make sure to take many weapons! We still don't know what's running around in the forest out there." She said going back to reading with Elizabeth. "..thanks.." I said quietly. "No problem." My mother replied, smiling a little.

"Actually, let's wait for tommorow. You know how I feel about going out alone in the forest at dark." Mother said, causing me to sigh. "Alright.." I said, heading back to me and Elizabeth's room. I got om my bunk and promptly fell asleep after setting an alarm.

I woke up with a start, my alarm clock blaring in my ears. I turned it off and casually rolled out of bed onto the floor. Me being on the top bunk this probably wasent the best idea but who gives a shit. I got up from the floor, making sure I wasent bleeding or anything, and then going to the closet to pick out some clothes. I pulled out just some jeans and a black T-shirt. I headed to the bathroom.

I locked the door behind me after taking g the pills I needed too and then I threw the paper cup in the garbage can. I brushed my hair so it was easier to wash. I then got ready to shower.

I threw on my clothes after quickly drying off. I brushed my teeth and then brushed my hair again. I looked at my self in the mirror, realizing something was missing. I walked to my room while carrying my dirty clothes. Once I got into the room I put the dirty clothes into the hamper. I walked over to my dresser and took a tiny lock necklace and put it on.

I walked over to Elizabeth and tapped her on the shoulder. She woke up almost immediately. "Mmh..?" She mumbled, still half asleep. "Wake upp!" I shook her gently. "Gah! I'm awake!" She said, suprized. Alright now get ready, I'll make breakfast. "Okay!" She said happily.

I walked I to the kitchen and began to make Pancakes. I poured the liquid mix onto the pan, not trying to be careful with where I poured them on the pan. Once they started to get crispy on the edges, I flipped them.i took out plates, butter, blueberries, and syrup. I aces the syrup and blueberries on the table and then plated the Pancakes, each person getting 2. I set them on the table, glancing at the empty chair next to my chair.

I turned the burners off and took out some orange juice without pulp, qnd poured it into 3 cups, almost grabbing a fourth. I sighed and put the fourth empty glass back in the cabinet. I set the glasses on the table next to the plates. Along with it I set down some silverware. Elizabeth walked into the room just as I was about to yell for everyone.

Elizabeth sat down and waited for me to call mother to the table as well. I did so, and she came into the living room and smiled. "Thanks Dusk! To be honest I wasent ready to make breakfast today.." she said, relieved. I replied, "ah, it's 'nothin." We all sat down and waited untill we could put some blueberry onto our Pancakes.

Once we had finished eating, I got up and began cleaning up. Elizabeth and Mother helped and it was alot faster to get the dishes washed then if it was just one person. I washed my hands off and turned to my mother. "So, can I go scavenging now?" I said, smiling. "God, I hoped you were gonna forget about that. But sure.." she said, clearly just wanting to rest for a bit. "Yes!" I said, happily.

I stepped into the forest, my boots making a satisfying crunch against a few fallen leaves. I looked around for any plants and saw a small strawberry bush. I walked over to it and began plucking strawberries and putting them into my basket. I heard walking some where near and I drew my dagger. I looked around, fear swallowing me whole.

I finished picking the strawberries and rembered what I wanted to try today. Still being careful of my surroundings, I got the small strawberry bush out of the ground and set it in my basket. Alright. So the main focus of today is strawberries. Got it!

I began going deeper and deeper into the forest, cutting trees with my dagger as I went so I'd remeber my way. As I realized I was getting closer and closer to the noises i heard i realized this was probably a bad idea. I was heading straight for a strawberry bush though, so I should be okay.

I began picking strawberries from the bush and setting them into my basket. This bush was also relatively small so I megan digging it up. I slowly realized the rustling of leaves wernt all coming from the bush as I dug it up. I realized that it wasent just me. I felt I a presence behind me.

I tried to run but they grabbed my wrist and turned me around, staring straight into my eyes.

"Oh~ so who do we have here?~"
