I sat up on the couch, light streaming through the window. Shit! I must have fallen asleep. I looked around, seeing Elizabeth asleep on the other side of the couch. I looked over at the kitchen, seeing the new wolf pup asleep on the island counter. I relaxed, knowing they were both safe.

I got up from the couch, and I stretched with a yawn. My tail curled up behind me as I picked up Elizabeth. I walked to our room.

Once I entered out room, I set her on her bed, draping the blanket on top of her. I then walked too the bathroom, opening the cabinet. I took out the pills that I needed and took them, putting the bottles back in the cabinet. I then went back to my room, and looked through my half of the closet. I chose a white shirt, a black hoodie with a green frog on the front, and green short shorts.

I walked back to the bathroom, closing the door and locking it behind me. I set my clothes down on the sink counter. I undressed, and turned on the shower. I tested and changed the water untill a nice temperature, and then stepped into the shower.

I waked back into me and Elizabeth's shared room, and saw Elizabeth sitting at the desk drawing something. She heard me walk in and turned her head to look at me. "Dusk! Hi! I drew a thing!" She said excitedly. "Oh? What is it?" I said, smiling at her. "It's the new wolf!" Elizabeth picked up the drawing and showed it to me. "I like it!" I looked at the drawing. "I'm gonna hang it on the fridge!" She said, excitedly.

I followed Elizabeth into the kitchen, and only now did I realize that the wolf pup was awake. He was sniffing around the island counter. Once he smelled us, he yelped at us. As Elizabeth was hanging the drawing on the fridge and I took out some raw cleaned deer meat. I unwrapped it from the plastic it was in and set it beside the pup. Elizabeth closed the fridge, as I had forgotten too.

The wolf pup sniffed the meat, and then ate it. I grabbed a bowl and filled it with water, and set it beside the pup. What should we name him... maybe Aspen..? I pet the wolf pup on the head as I was lost in thought. Suddenly, I blurted out, "What if we named him Aspen?" Elizabeth looked at the wolf pup with a smile. "I like it!" She said happily.

We heard walking in the hall way and we all turned our heads too the doorway. I saw my mother walk into the room. "Morning.." she mumbled. "Good morning! We also thought of naming him," I pointed to Aspen, "Aspen!" Elizabeth finished my sentence. "It sounds good, but I need coffee," she said, walking to the coffee machine.

I walked outside with Aspen, and then I set him on the ground. He sniffed around the area, but still stayed relatively close. He was limping across the yard back to me. He stopped at my feet and barked/growled up at me. I picked him up and he settled down, so I set him back on the ground and he began running around. This is one energetic wolf pup huh.. I thought, gazing at  Aspen as he ran back and fourth across the yard, but still slightly limping.

Aspen suddenly stopped his back and fourth run across the lawn and stared into the forest, giving me a unnerving feeling. My ears pricked as I thought I heard footsteps coming from the forest. My tain began waving back and forth in anxiety. Aspen backed away from the noise and cowered by my leg. I paused for a moment before taking him inside.

"Ah, not to worry you guys but me and Aspen heard some noises outside." I said, closing the door behind me. "Im sure it's just some fox or a forest dwelling creature like that." Said my mother. Elizabeth was trying to knock over a cup with rocks in it with just air pressure from when she flapped her wings really hard.

I passed by the cup and knocked it over when she wasn't looking and trying to concentrate and get alot of air pressure. She looked at the cup again and smiled happily. "Guys! I did it! Yayy!" I pet her on the head. "Good job Lizzy," I said proudly.

I heard more noises outside, and my ears swifled twords the noise. My mother did the same and Elizabeth gained a worried look. "What's happing?" She said looking in the direction our ears were swivled too. "I.. I'm not sure.." I said quietly. I walked to the door way, Aspen staying beside Elizabeth.

I opened the door hesitantly, and I swore I saw something with a human figure in the forest. "Somethings out there. And it looks human," I said worriedly. "What.." Mother said, fear filling her gaze.

I stepped on to the porch, and I saw eyes glare at my from the gloom of the forest in the setting sun. The red and pink sky with red clouds drifting near the sun were setting the forest ablaze with reds, maroons, and yellows casting a glare over everything.

The eyes locked with mine for a moment before they dissapeared again, the forest then being filled with nothing but uneasy silence and footsteps that grew fainter at they led away from where I stood. I thought about chasing after them but decided against it because the forest could become more dangerous when it grew darker. I sighed and walked back inside, locking the door behind me.

"There's something.. no someONE out there. And I don't think they are very friendly."
