Avalyn POV

I watch Thana glide through the gates of heaven elegantly with Lucifer by her side. I glance around and watch the glares of the angels, their hands itching to get around her throat. Some look at her in fear, fearing their ashes would rain upon heaven next. The angels were avoiding the other reapers. The tension is thick through the air and by Michael's smile as he mingles with the other archangels, it is just what he wants. He knows this won't be a normal ball, this is the war grounds, bold of him to bring the fight to heaven.

Maybe it's because this is his turf. My eyes widen as I see him talking to Kasedeya, very fondly. I take in a deep breath and close my eyes to tune in to what is being said. I furrow my eyebrows in frustration. The chatter around me makes it impossible to listen in.

“How long do you think before a fight ensues?” I ask Raphael in a hushed tone.

He feigns a smile as he turns to me, trying to carry out our conversation causal like in the curious eyes of others. “They are sizing each other up, waiting on the other to make a move, but the angels out number the reapers by a thousand, this seems like child's play.” My eyes widen as I see the ghastly creatures that enter the gates.

The seven deadly sins.

“Lucifer knows he needs backup, or well the reapers do,” Raphael catches himself, knowing Lucifer could slaughter every angel in here.

I smirk, “Then why don't we just let him at it?”

Raphael looks at me, eyebrows drawn up, “Because heaven would be no more. We are just trying to take Michael down. These angels only know what he tells them.” I nod at the words. As my eyes scan over them, of course, they are only guilty because they know nothing else. They don't know of his god complex.

“Let's rock-and-roll,” I say quickly and pull him behind me to the dance floor. His arms wrap around me on instinct. Both of us on watch, waiting on someone to make a move while we enjoy each others embrace.

Thana pov

I feel glares on my back as I glide across the room in Lucifer's arms. I raise my brows at the beaming Devil. “Why do you look so smitten?” I whisper.

“I'm causing mischief in heaven with the woman I love. It's everything a man could dream of.” His grip on my waist tightens as he pulls me closer. Our bodies flushed as my cheeks burn red. “Plus the angels have noticed the ring on your finger, I can hear them gossiping.” He twirls me before pulling me back in.

I bite my lip at his remarks, my chest tightens at his words. I put my head on his chest to hide my smile.

“Should we have a wedding like humans do?” I giggle at him, “I want you to have whatever, so if a human wedding makes you happy, I'll be find standing in a church.”

My laugh rings through the air as I look up at him. I lean on my tippy-toes and softly kiss his soft lips. I pull away, and he leans his forehead on mine. “I know you haven't gotten your fairy tale,” He breathes as we sway to the music, “I'll give it to you, to the best of my ability. A white house with a picket fence, whatever you want.”

“Being at your side is my fairy tale,”I whisper as I close my eyes, enjoying the moment.

“Consider it done.”

A bittersweet feeling overtakes my chest and stomach. Aside from the war coming towards us any second, I wish I could freeze this moment and enjoy it with him. I know this is a moment I will miss when it passes. I'll treasure it for the rest of my life, even if the end of me is tonight.
I understand why humans enjoy taking pictures now. To cherish moments when time stood still and everything was-is perfect.

“Ahem,” I then turn my head and see Kasedeya smiling at us. “May I steal this dance?”

I'm in such a good mood, I nod and look at Lucifer with a teasing glance as he sends me a pleading one. “Of course,” I giggle and step away from the two as Kasedeya takes my place. I glide to Morana who is talking to Zagan. She smiles at me and snatches my hand, a squeal leaving her at the sight of the ring.

She jumps in place. “Oh my stars! I am so glad someone pinch me, I must be dreaming.”
I see Zagan lean towards her, her face contorts in pain as she jumps with a squeak. “Ah! I didn't mean literally!” She screeches at a snickering Zagan. “Why, I sho-” Zagan throws his hands up in surrender as he takes a step back.

“Hey let's not get too comfortable. Keep your guard up. Michael's people will strike at any mo-”

“AHH!!” The sharp cry makes me freeze, and I turn sharply, and my eyes widen in shock at the scene in front of me.

A dagger that resembles the one that Michael gave my is pierced in Lucifer's back as Kasedeya looks in shock at her hand holding it in his back. She quickly pulls it from between his shoulder blades and before he can recover, she drives it through his chest piercing his heart. I scream as I start towards him, followed by other reapers. A bright light goes through the room from Lucifer as he falls to the floor, his life leaving him as he lands. I fall to his side catching his head before it has a chance to hit the floor. His eyes are glazed over as they stare beyond me. His red eyes are now so dull.

It is as if I am experiencing death for the first time. My body shakes and my ears ring, my vision is blurred I don't notice the fight around me. My shaking hands bring his face to mine as I give him a gentle kiss. I close his eyes as I lean into him. My lips brush his ear. "I will bring them hell for you my love."

I stand to my full height tears still streaming down my face as I call out to the inner darkness. I close my eyes and breath in deeply before opening them again. "Stop," I command and everyone freezes as they look at me, angels gasp as do reapers.

"Her eyes are completely black." I hear the murmurs as I eye Michael.

"All of this for control of heaven and earth," My voice is deeper and eery, I see Angels and reapers, even the deadly sins flinch. "So I will make sure you have none of them," Michael smirks as he walks down the stage. Others take a step back giving him room, parting like the sea.

"You think you can control them?"

I smirk as I narrow my eyes. "Oh no, Michael," My wings burst from my back.

"I will destroy them both, there will be nothing left for you," I then out stretch my hands and darkness gushes out and snatches her to me. I turn to Kasedeya with a deadly smirk. "Starting with you."

I then take off, I look at the sins and nod on my way out and they start their on destruction, some heading to hell to let out demons the others staying in heaven killing angels. I leave behind the screams and rush to earth.

I slam Kasedeya into the earth. "He promised you the crown didn't he?" Kasedeya groans as she rolls clutching her back from the impact.

"It should right fully be mine!" She yells before flinching. She then attempts to swing with the dagger in her hand, I effortlessly dodge and counter act with a kick in her stomach causing her to stumble. She again strikes at me and I jump over the attack and on my way down my foot lands a hit on her face. She cries out as she fumbles to the floor.

I snap my fingers and darkness surrounds me it fades revealing a new outfit, I giggle darkly as I out stretch my hands, what do you think? Perfect attire to destroy the world in right?" She looks at me and scans over the black body suit that clings to my body tightly accompany by armor over my shoulders and chest area, a dark long red cap flows from behind me. I then start to walk towards her, my steps light and calculated as she looks up at me in fear.

"What-what about Michael? He orchestrated this all." She stutters and I smirk as I bend down and snatch her hair at the scalp.

"Death is to easy for him, I want him to suffer." I lift her up by her hair before putting my hands around her throat and squeeze, her eyes widen I cut off her the air filling her lunges. I watch the life slowly fade but before it completely leaves her I allow the darkness to cover her body turning her into black stone. I grin as I look in awe at my work. I then look around me and decide this is the best place to start. I take a step and darkness spread from my footsteps, taking over the land and killing everything in sight.

You wanted me to be a villain mother? So a villain I'll be.
