FOUR, the meadows girls against the world.
"Olivia Meadows-Shelby is now the beginning, middle and the end of your mission," Inspector Campbell turned to Iris. "Get as much information about Thomas from her as you can and feed back to Grace."
"No," Iris shook her head. "I don't want to be apart of this anymore. I never wanted to be apart of this. I won't hurt her like that, she's been through enough as it is."
"You walk away from this and she'll suffer either way. Wouldn't it be better if you could keep an eye on her?"
"I said no. I don't want to be apart of this anymore, Grace can do as she pleases but leave Liv out of it!" the girl hissed in his ear and yanked her wrist from his grasp as she left the theatre.
The girl walked down Watery Lane there was no way she could tell Liv but she knew that deep down she had to in order to keep her safe because if the inspector was willing to beat her up then she didn't know what else he was capable of.
"You okay?" Liv asked while closing the door after she saw the girl's figure from the window in Finn's room.
"You're going to hate me but I need to tell you this," the blonde sighed, her hands shaking.
"Why would I hate you?" she asked with furrowed brows, her arms crossing over her chest while she leaned on the door behind her.
Iris let out a shaky sigh, "Remember when we met and you accused me of being with the Inspector because you heard my accent?"
"Yeah but you're not right?" Liv asked, her smile beginning to drop when Iris stayed silent, everything beginning to fall into place. "Right?"
"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm so sorry, Olive."
"Where are you going?" Liv followed her down the street. "Will you stop walking away and just listen!" The brunette grabbed a hold of the girl's wrist to make her stop walking. "Why are you telling me now? You're not a very good spy if you go telling the people you're spying on that you're spying on them."
"Because I don't want to hurt you anymore but I swear I didn't know about the beating before I saw you, I mean I wasn't even sure if it was you until I saw Tommy," her eyes widened.
"Wait, what does my dad have to do with this?"
"Oli-"
"You can't just name drop my dad and expect me not to ask questions. What has my dad got to do with it?"
"You can't tell anyone. He'll kill me if anyone finds out," Iris panicked.
"Who? I won't let my dad kill you."
"Not your dad, the Inspector," Iris clarified with a sigh.
"Campbell? There's no way he'd-" she began but didn't believe it herself. "He wouldn't I mean you're only fifteen, he won't kill a kid right? Right?"
"I don't know what he'd do Olive, I really don't know and I really don't want to be there to find out," she panicked. "He knows where I live, he know my family, I'm putting them in danger, I'm putting you in danger. What have I done?"
"Calm, calm down," Liv placed her hands on the blonde's shoulder while she thought of a plan. "Here's what we are both going to do. I want to get back at my dad for killing my mum and you don't want to die so I'm going to tell you all you need to know and you are going to feed it back to him okay? That way we're both safe and I get to avenge my mum."
"Are you sure?"
"Iris, you're my best friend. You're also the only person I trust so yes I'm sure but you ever do anything like this again and I'll kill you before the inspector does okay?"
"Alright," the girl let out a nervous laugh because she knew she was serious.
"Come on," Liv wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulder. "He won't hurt you at mine."

Imogen Meadows strolled down Watery Lane having received a phone call from Ada telling her their niece needed someone from her mum's side of the family, having been around the Shelby's by herself for too long. The woman knocked on the door of number six to be met with Iris who was on her way out with Liv following behind. "Why have you stopped?" Liv asked, peering over the girl's shoulder. "Auntie Immy?"
"Missed me?" The woman was met with the girl's arm wrapping around her neck in a hug.
"What are you doing here?" Liv asked with a smile, standing in-front of her.
"Got a call from a certain Shelby sister telling me my niece was sick of the Shelby's or more specifically who you call the devil," Imogen smirked, teasing her niece. "So, where are we going?"
"We were going to go to school but since you're here I don't want to go anymore," the brunette smiled. "You pick where we go."
"I owe your father a visit," she replied, Liv's face turning from a smile to a frown. "You don't have to come with, you can stay away."
"Good, I'm walking Iris to school. Meet me back here?"
"I will," Imogen nodded, moving out of the way for the two girl's to exit the house. "Liv?"
"Yeah?"
"Be careful."
"Yes, I will," she waved at her.
"So I'm telling Campbell I'm back on the mission then?" Iris asked as they got to her street.
"Yeah, don't let him suspect that I know."
"I won't," the blonde shook her head. "I'll see you later?"
"Yeah. You'll see me later," she confirmed with a smile.

Liv walked into the house, pausing when she heard her aunt speaking to her dad. "My sister thought the world of you and you let her down. Do you have any idea how much she argued with my dad for him to understand that you were different? That you wouldn't abandon her or Liv? I'll tell you Thomas, it was far too many times and every single time, I'd be there, wiping her tears and telling her that he'd come around."
"Imogen-"
Liv made her way closer to the empty betting den so she could hear them clearer. "No, I'm not done. You let my sister down and now you've let your daughter down. She would be turning in her grave-"
"You couldn't even be bothered to show up to her funeral," Tommy cut her off.
The blonde woman sighed, "I was there. I was in the back where no one could see me because if I set eyes on you I'd have fucking killed you." Tommy didn't say anything back, he knew how serious she was, Imogen practically raised Ali since she was older and she was more protective over Ali than their parents were. "I still don't know what she saw in you."
"I loved her, Imogen."
"So now she belongs in the past and forgotten about because you found yourself a blonde barmaid or what about that nurse from the war that keeps popping up," the woman let out a sarcastic chuckle. "You Shelby boys never change, sometimes I'm glad me and John didn't work out."
Liv's eye's widened, "Immy and John? What the fuck?"
"She's not in the past, she'll never be forgotten. Not by me and most certainly not Liv," Tommy told the blonde, his voice blunt but honest.
"She'll never forgive you, you know."
"I know."
Imogen's heel's clacked across the betting den floor as she made her way back to the brunette teen who she knew was eavesdropping. Liv panicked and decided to sit on the stairs, messing with her ring. "He's gone," she informed the brunette sitting beside her on the stairs.
"Okay."
"He's still your dad," the blonde spoke but refused to meet her niece's eyes. "I know you'll never forgive him but there will always be a small part of you that is nagging and nagging you to forgive him because what harm could it cause? Then you decide to forgive him and he-"
"He does it all over again. Immy, I've forgiven him countless of times and he still fucks me over and I don't know how much more I can take," the girl admitted truthfully. "The more I forgive him, the more he betrays me and the more it hurts."
"I've had my experience with shitty parents and I can tell you in his own way, he loves you. You were so lucky to have your mum as your mum. She put you first, she did everything in her power to protect you."
"But she still drunk herself to death and left me."
"Look, Liv," Imogen sighed. "I haven't always been the best of aunts or sister in your mum's case but I promise you from now on. I am staying and you are my top priority and no I'm not trying to replace your mum because she is irreplaceable."
"Despite you abandoning me for five years, I still love you and I don't want you to leave me again because I need you. You're the only person who will stand up to my dad."
"I'm not leaving you ever again," she promised, wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulder and kissing the top of her head. "It's me and you against the world kid."
"The Meadows girls against the world again?" Liv asked, hope lacing her tone and a glint of hope in her eyes.
"The Meadows girls against the world again," Imogen nodded.
