Hemera is Just Stupid...

Madeline couldn't see in the darkness but she tripped and slid as soon as they entered the tunnel. She landed on her stomach and yelled, "Bad choice Felix!" Still scared of her from her previous outburst, Felix smartly didn't respond.

The tunnel soon sloped upwards, up until it was nearly impossible to climb. Knowing they had chose the tunnel with ice, they stopped. "Should we turn around?" Felix asked.

A roar came from the end of the tunnel, making them jump and shaking the ceiling. "Does that answer your question?"

The girl suddenly moaned and shifted, causing Madeline's grip on her to slip.
The body slid back down the tunnel, her red hair flailing behind her. Madeline cursed and said stiffly, "Go get it, Felix." Felix looked down the tunnel.

"No way. You dropped it, you get it." I gave him my scariest glare. And their pretty scary, I learned from Hades Himself , the master of glares. "Fine." He mumbled, then trudged after the girl. Watching him carefully, she saw him slip and fall on the ice. She giggled, and he shouted, "Not funny!" Getting up dusting himself off, he didn't realise the baby hellhound was behind him. It's eyes glowing in the dark, it's shaggy tail waving, it... set a bone down in front of him.

"RAWF!" It's bark echoed through the tunnel, and another bark echoed back. "Oh great, you called mama." Felix mumbled. "Wait Felix, he wants to play fetch." She walked over and the puppy, almost as big as a kitchen table, jumped up and wagged its tail. " Go fetch!" She yelled as she threw the bone. It landed in the further darkness and she whispered, "Now we leave!" Turning back around, they set off again. The mother hellhound was nowhere to be seen, but suddenly there was a sound, like water trickling through a dam, and a shadow appeared in front of them. The hellhound had appeared.

"Oh, Hades help us." Madeline clenched her teeth, prepared to fight. But the hound stepped forward and metal jingled on the... collar? Yes, the dog wore a collar with a smiley face and crossbones.Shaggy black fur hung off the hellhound's sides and when it sat down with a large crunch, fur pooled around it like spilled ink.

"Holy Hades, it's a friendly hellhound!" Felix smiled. " And it's pup, too. " Madeline said. "Huh, little guy?" He added, " Or girl."

"Oh gods, Felix, the girl!" Madeline ducked under the hellhound and ran back into the darker part of the tunnel, slipping and sliding every few feet. Finally she saw flaming red hair peeking out from behind a frozen icy pinnacle. "Come on, girly." She mumbled as her breath steamed in the air. "We gotta get back to the travel group." Bending down to pick up a hand and drag her back, someone put their hand on the body and said, "I don't think so."

Madeline turned around to face Hemera, who was cackling and smiling evily. "Not so fast, honey." Making to run, she jumped up. But Hemera hadn't moved, and Madeline watched as her eyes rolled up into her head and she mumbled, "Get out. Get out. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!" Quieting down, she looked at Madeline and said,"Go. It will be back for my mind... my poor daughter... my mind.." Was Hemera crazy? She had heard it - her daughter was dead. But her mind? Why was she acting so strange ?

Hemera slumped over again, and Madeline took the chance, she ran. Ran back to Felix and The hellhounds.
"Hemera is here. We have to run for it." She said, gasping for breath.

"Its fine, Lucy here can shadow travel."

"Lucy who?"

"Peck too, but that doesn't matter. Just hold on."

"Wait what?" But the hound had already traveled. Madeline felt like she usually did when her mother travelled in a similar manner. Her stomach felt twisted, her eyes began to burn, and she almost cried out, but they were already done travelling. She opened her eyes to a glare as strong as fire. "I can't see, Felix."

"Me either. Just hold on to the hound and walk forward. Slowly. And feel for stuff so you don't bump into it. You still have the body?"

" Yup. I think you need to help me though. It feels like it's even heavier." They trudged through where ever they were, squinting. Finally, they came to a spot of shade, where they opened their eyes to a whole new world.
Strange trees grew in... the light? Sunlight? Anyways, The hellhounds, or Lucy and Peck as Felix had dubbed them, had wandered over too some much greener than the underworld's bushes. Felix still couldn't see, as Nyx's darkness cloak was still wearing off. He stumbled across the cleaning and Crashed into an oak tree headfirst. The girl was propped up against another tree near where Madeline had dropped her.
"We're alive. It's ok. We survived." She muttered over and over again. But of course, Lucy started barking and ran past them into the bushes. "LUCY!" Madeline yelled. Oh. She should probably help Felix first. Smirking, she looked at Felix's position. He was slumped against the tree, probably with a concussion.. Ya he needs help.

"Hello? Can anyone hear me? I need help!" She shouted, then realised she probably shouldn't have shouted. I mean, who could be out here other than strange, possibly dangerous mortals or..... camp. Felix had not been exact with his stories of the camp. She assumed that it would be a sanctuary for people like her and Felix.
Her call was answered with a gigantic roar that echoed around the clearing. More spitting and growling was heard until a bark cut through the air. "Peck? Lucy?" She shouted worriedly. "Im coming!" Leaning Felix back onto the tree in a nicer position she ran back through the bushes where Lucy had went and ran headfirst into a tree. "Ow. Nice Job Me." Steadily getting up, she kept running, careful not to trip on roots and logs, until she reached a clearing. And in that clearing was Lucy, Fighting the biggest Snow Leopard she had ever seen.
