7 - Well Schist-

A/N:      The song above is called Apollo and is by Timebell... It's what I listened to while writing this. It's a little short btw. I'm just desperate to update 😊

I managed to convince Peter to walk back to the tower and swing up to the window where no one could see us. Because honestly, I thought I might have a heart attack if we swang back again. He grabbed the box his suit was in on our way back.

"So..." Peter said after not saying anything since we left the pier. "The greek gods." He didn't look at me. I nodded.

"Yeah, they're real. Though I think I know about as much as you do." I said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked. Oh gods, - though I'd start saying that, - should I tell him I'm also a demigod?

"Peter?" I look at him.

"Yeah?" he says back.

"Percy's a demigod, like he said. Half human half god. His dad's Poseidon." I hesitated. "I-I'm also a demigod." He said nothing for a moment.

"...ok, s-so who's your mom, or dad?" He seemed awfully calm about all this.

"Apollo." I respond quickly. He's quiet, but then he starts laughing.

"That's- That's insanely cool. The sun god? Do you have any powers?" I open my mouth but close it again.

"Maybe? I healed Tony Stark's arm when he fell down those stairs. I mean Apollos the god of healing, so..." Then we turn onto the block with the Avenger tower.

"I'll be right back." Peter says, running over to an alley to change. About half a minute later he comes out and hands me the mask with the spider web pattern. I put it on and he says,

"Are you ready?" I nod, shutting my eyes. There's a rush of wind and I feel weightless. Then my feet touch down on a solid surface and I open my eyes. I'm back in Peter's bathroom. I reach up and take off the mask, handing it to Peter. I watch as he then takes his suit off and shoves it under the sink with the mask.

"You should go," he says.

"What?" I ask. "Why?"

"It needs to look like we were going separate things the entire time. Like we never-" he stopped. "Hold that thought." He rushed out of the room and over to his bed. He knelt down and pulled out a computer, but not a new Stark Industries model. I don't even think it was from this century. It was like a bunch of different computers smushed together.

Peter opened it and pulled up a screen that looked like his room... because it was his room. The screen showed him sitting on his bed tinkering with something, not on the ground. I wasn't there either. He must have hacked it while we were gone.

"Wow..." I said. "How long will it last?"

"I can deactivate it when you leave so it looks like you were never here and we never left." He was insanely smart.

"That's awesome," I said. "I should go..." I started to say, before my mind wandered again.

"Hey, are you almost done with that?" I asked him, remembering about the unfinished radio on his bed. I walked over to it.

"Oh, yeah, almost. You said you wanted to borrow it"? He came to join me, picking up some wires. He opened up the back of it and attached them to something.

"It should work now," he said. "Do you want it?" My eyes widened.

"Really? Don't you want it?" I exclaimed happily.

"Nah, not really. I just mostly do this for fun." I was giddy now. I had planned on walking around with my walkmen, but now I could blast music from my room!

"Thank you!" I squealed, picking it up. "I'll be leaving now."

"Ok," he nodded. "It's almost 6, see you at dinner... with the avengers." I got that nervous feeling in my stomach as I left. The Avengers... wow.

How had my life gotten to this point?

· · ·

The nervousness left when I pressed play on my new radio. Music started playing and I forgot about everything else. I started dancing around like nobody was watching, which they probably were. I listened to the beat of each song, and if I concentrated hard enough, I could make out each individual sound used.

The remaining minutes flew by, and then Jarvis. spoke through hidden speakers.

"It is time for dinner. Ashley, you are to report to the 42 floor." I turned off the music. The nervous feeling returned and my heartbeat started to get slightly faster, remembering I was going to have dinner with the Avengers. I swallowed nervously and opened my door to see Peter standing there. He looked nervous like I did, fidgeting with the sleeve of his shirt.

"H-hey," I said.

"Oh hi... I, um..." He stuttered.

"Nervous?" I volunteered.

"Yeah, I mean it's the Avengers! We met a few hours ago, but I never expected to have dinner with them! Let alone Tony Stark!" He said. "He's my hero..." I heard him whisper to himself.

"Yeah tell me about it." I said. "But we should go up. Don't want to keep them waiting." I said and he nodded.

A few moments later we were in the elevator, heading to the 42 floor. I took a deep breath and the doors opened. I let out a sigh when I saw that not everyone was there yet. Tony, Clint, and Nat were sitting in the living room watching something on tv. They turned it off and looked up when they saw us. I had barely stepped out of the elevator when Clint waved me over. He was polishing a different bow on his lap. I walked over to him.

"New bracelet?" He asked suddenly and I remembered I was wearing the gift from my dad, and I froze. Of course he'd notice, he was a super spy.

"Oh, uh yeah." I said. "New bow?"

"Nah, this ones a classic. But I want you to try it sometime." He said to me.

"Clint, don't make her a mini you." Tony joked, but he just ignored him. He turned his attention back to me.

"See how it fits," I gulped again. How was I supposed to tell him about my bow? I'd said I'd never really used one... Then I got an idea.

"Oh, that's ok. I have one, it was my dad's. So I think I'll use that one." I said and Natasha looked over at me. I think she could tell I was hiding something.

"That's cool. Did he shoot?" Clint asked. I wanted to say, Duh! He's the freaking god of literal archery! But alias, I couldn't.

"Uh yeah, but I never went with him when he did." I shrugged and joined him on the couch. He handed me the bow.

"Pull it back," he said. I did, finding it surprisingly easy. He handed me an arrow.

"Try and shoot one of Tony's fancy vases over there." He said smirking, and I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not. But I was saved by the bell. The elevator dinged and out walked the rest of the team. Tony rubbed his hands together.

"Let's eat, shall we?"

We all took our seats at the table that had been set up behind us. Clint insisted I sit next to him, and Thor insisted Peter with him. Peter looked a little disappointed about that, looking longingly at Tony, but he didn't argue. Food was already on the table, and everyone helped themselves to whatever they could reach. No one said much until Tony cleared his throat and looked over at me.

"So, ADHD?" I nearly spit out my water all over the God of Thunder.

"What?" I asked choking, looking over at Peter. He shot a look back, like, don't look at me! How did Tony know then?

"How did I know?" Tony gave me a look like, Please, I'm super genius. I nodded.

"When you passed out, I did a brain scan to make sure you hadn't gotten a serious concussion. Dyslexia too? I can't imagine how hard that must be to live with" Everything he was saying was shocking me. He had found out about my ADHD and dyslexia just from a brain scan? What else? Did he know about the fountain in my room? What would happen if he drew my blood? I was part god, would that show in the results? Do gods even have DNA? Would it show part of my DNA missing?!

"Why didn't you tell us?" Nat asked, shaking me from my thoughts.

"I-I was afraid you would see it as a weakness." I mumbled, but they heard me.

"Why would we?" Steve asked. "ADHD might just save your life, moving around all the time. I once knew this soldier, he was a friend of mine from the war..." And he went on about some war story about a guy who had ADHD and was constantly moving around and he was able to dodge most bullets. Key word on most.

When dinner was over, I joined the test of the team on the couches in the living room. They turned back on the tv and started watching something, but I didn't pay attention much. After fighting monsters and filling up on dinner, I was extremely tired. I felt myself getting more sleepy by the minute, and managed to say I was going to bed before my brain decided it was time to sleep. Guess fishting monsters really teaks it out of you.

When I reached my room, I headed first for the radio, wanting to fall asleep to music. Not bothering to change the station, I headed straight for my bed. I had been hoping for no dreams like the one about Percy and Grover, but of course they were there.
