So... Things pretty much went to normal, if you can call it normal. Yeah, everything around me in the building (which I later learned was called, The Titobi Skyscraper. It's huge.). At first, when I was building my treehouse, I ate up there. (Camping equipment sure is handy right?) After I finished though, I hesitantly came down from the roof. Blaze was coming out from his room blinking the sleepiness out of his eyes when he spotted me. "Oh. Are you coming down to eat finally?". I nodded. "I guess...". "Well then," He said, perking up a little more. "Come on down with me. It's time that you saw how busy things get when everyone returns to gather when eating time comes.". He acted as an escort and brought me to massive double doors opposite the entrance. I secretly thought that the whole building looked kinda like a pokéball. The Dining Hall was big. Not the animal associated kind of big. Just imagine a showroom. Something like that size. There were three giant birch tables the size of olympic swimming pools. "Aren't these humungous sizes a little too, um, big? It just seems too ridiculous to think about...". Blaze laughed. "Yeah. You're right. I was like that when I first came here too. It's just that, remember how many people living here that I told you about? Well... It's not only us. We are a company that many people know about. This organisation is one of the biggest ones we have here in our realm. That's why..." He said that all with a smile on his face."We need this many tables. Sometimes we have ambassadors travelling from city, to towns. From urban areas to rural ones. The risk of pure-blooded demons have greatly affected humanity. The only problem is when killing them..."He faltered. "Is because when you do manage to kill them, they release a thing that we call, a time shift. It'll affect all people except the ones who killed it, or, played a part in killing it. It'll erase everyone's memory of the demon(s)." Well... That explains a lot, I guess. We both pushed through the crowd to get a plate of food each."I won't be eating with you." Blaze said to me. I gave him a questioning look. "It's because my rank is higher than yours." I nodded to show that I understood. I made my way across to a lower rank seat. There were many sitting down already. A lot of them started like me recently. I remembered hearing various notifications about these new people. None of them took any notice of me as I sat down. Someone at the higher rank tables stood up. It was the Director. She clapped her hands twice and immediately, the whole dining hall quietened down. Us newbies kept quiet out of respect. "Now then," She started ina bold voice."I'll read out the list of names that are moving up to a higher rank. Their names are~". She started going on and on. I was barely paying attention when my sub conscious knocked my brain awake. I had vaguely heard me name being called out. I was confused. Who wouldn't be? I had done nothing much anyway. Everyone, like literally everyone was staring at me in astonishment at that stage. Seriously, what did I do?! After my silent panic attack, I noticed that someone was clapping. It was Blaze, smiling with that signature grin of his. Then another pair of hands joined in. It was Ikasu. Then, all of a sudden, everyone started clapping. My reaction was like:(・□・；)<⋯⋯). The Director clapped her hands once again. Although it was hard to hear, everyone got the gist and settled down."That concluded this evening's notices, you may now dig in." Everyone dug in, leaving me with a unanswered confusion. Later... Blaze slapped me on the back really hard. Everyone was congratulating me as I walked past.
"Blaze..." I muttered to him.
"Hmm? What is it?". I didn't answer for a moment. Then I replied.
"... Please tell me... What exactly did I do to go up a rank?". At that time I had pretty much guessed it.
He looked at me strangely. "Didn't you listen? You didn't move up a rank," I sighed wearily. "You moved up two ranks.". I turned to face him and muttered, "Wait. What? WHAT?!"(By the way, we were still climbing up the ropes.)"Yeah, you did apparently. Since you were the only one who actually bothered to build your own house so..." I stared at him with disbelief. This was appalling. I had really not have expected this. Out of nowhere, the girl, who, (if you can remember from a few chapters back) was in my greeting spell binding party, slid down from above. "I understand that you have earned your way to the C rank, but, don't you get cocky..." She hissed in my face these words and went sliding back down to the bottom floor. "C rank?" I asked to no one in particular. "I forgot to tell you, we have six ranks. E rank is the lowest, D rank is the one that most people are stuck on, C rank is the one that you are on right now, B rank is after that, A rank is mine and Shokiru, and, S rank is the one that the Director is on. No one else. Just her." I thought about his words. "Wait... Who's Shokiru?" Blaze laughed lightly and said, "It's that crazy girl just then. She's outta her mind. She chooses someone to hassle and then, if the person that she used to hassle got to a higher rank, she'd prey on someone else. Although, she seems to want to bully you a little more." I shook my head. "She'll get bored. I'm not swayed by those kind of people." We had reached Blaze's floor. "Bye." He said. I waved back and made my way to the top. I fell asleep dreaming of what demons might look like. They might look like people... They might look like monsters... But what do spirits look like anyway? Hmm...
