Percy POV

"Hello?"

I'd made sure to be at camp when Alessa got there. She didn't have anything chasing her, so we'd made up a story for her.

"Chiron, Percy!" Someone shouted from the border. "There's a girl here!"

I jogged over. I hadn't actually seen Alessa's change, she'd made the point that it would be easier for me to act like I didn't know her.

She was blonde now, with one blue eye and one brown. She had a lot of freckles. When she smiled shyly, she showed braces studded pink and blue. Hecate had reversed her age to 12.

"Who are you, child?" Chiron asked.

"I'm Alessa." She said meekly. "My mom sent me here. She told me I'd be safe.... our house got repossessed and she didn't know where to put me."

"Well why don't you come with me." He offered. "Percy, if you'll come with."

"Sure." I nodded.

Alessa followed us to the Big House, speeding up a bit to walk next to me. "What is this place? My mom told me I'd be safe here. Something about the Greek gods being real."

"They are." I nodded. "This is Camp Half-blood."

"Half-blood?"

I nodded. "I'm sure you can figure out why."

"Demigods." She said after a few moments of silence.

"Exactly."

"So I'm one then?"

"We'd have to assume so."

"So that story my mom told me about my dad going into the army and dying in combat?"

"Probably fake." I nodded.

"But how do you know I'm a demigod?"

"Well mortals need express permission to enter the camp." I shrugged. "Any guesses who your godly parent is?"

She shook her head. "I don't know. It'd be cool to be a child of Hephaestus. Or Poseidon, he's cool. I like swimming."

I chuckled. "Poseidon doesn't have many children. None of the Big Three do."

"The Big Three?"

"Poseidon, Zeus, Hades."

"Why don't they have many children?" She asked. I briefly wondered how much of the gods' history she remembered from when we were one person.

"Well demigod wars coincide with real-world wars. After World War II, which was sons of Poseidon and Zeus against sons of Hades, the three made a pact not to father any more children, since they're insanely powerful. Poseidon and Zeus broke that."

"They did?"

"Yes. Zeus did first, fathering two children with the same woman, but as different versions of himself. His daughter was Thalia, she joined the Hunt just before her sixteenth birthday. She'd be twenty-three this year. His son, Jason, would be twenty."

"Would be?" Alessa tipped her head curiously.

"You've kind of come here at a bad time. A son of Hecate used evil magic to bring to life the polar opposites of some very powerful demigods. I was one of the few to go through it and survive, and one of two children of the Big Three still living. I'm a son of Poseidon. Hades has one heir left, his daughter died, along with Jason and Thalia."

"I thought you said only Poseidon and Zeus broke the oath." Alessa frowned.

"That's something you can talk to Nico about, but yes, only Poseidon and Zeus broke the oath."

"Okay...." We reached the Big House and I held the door open for her. She smiled thankfully and went inside.

Chiron was getting into his wheelchair. Alessa watched in fascination for a moment.

"So, Miss Alessa, welcome to Camp Halfblood. I assume Percy explained the premise of this camp, I assume?"

She nodded. "I don't know who my godly parent is."

"I don't expect you to. The gods usually claim their child, they've made a promise to claim all children who arrive here by their thirteenth birthday."

"That's in a couple weeks for me." Alessa said quickly.

"Then we won't have to wait long." Chiron smiled. "For now you'll be with the Hermes kids. Percy, could you show her the orientation video?"

I nodded. "This way, Alessa."

We went down to the basement and I started the video, then went to wait in the hall. I didn't want to watch that.

Afterward, I went back in and flicked the lights on.

Alessa was crying quietly.

"Hey, hey are you okay?"

"I just- they looked so happy."

I frowned, but she continued. "Annabeth, Jason, all of them. They're so happy.... how old is this?"

"A year, at most."

Alessa wiped her eyes. "Gods, I'm a monster."

"Not anymore." I said firmly. "Alessa, look at me."

She looked up.

"You were literally created to be pure evil. The fact that you dealt with it and managed to change that is important. That's what makes you not evil. I know it's hard and some bad things have happened, but there's also so much room for you to be better now, and that's what you have to remember."

She nodded, sniffling. I held my arms out to give her a hug and she ran over to me.

"When this is all over, once you can be who you really are, it'll be okay. I promise."

"Thank you." she said quietly.

I think that's all of them, and then there are 4 unnamed demigods/people that were used to bring Jason, Percy, Leo, and Annabeth's darknesses to life]
