Chapter Twenty-Six: Ley-Lines
Stiles and I turned a corner and walked the hallway for a few meters, then turned another corner. And now we were met with a metal gate with a card reader this time, Stiles uses the key-card, and the door beeps, allowing us entry. Stiles rushes inside the hallway, the left hand-side filled with cells. The first one was open and Stiles dashes in and I followed behind, as we enter we see Lydia tied to the bed, the smell of her blood came rushing to my nostrils. Blood stained the pillow she was laying on and by the looks where it was coming from, a hole was drilled into the side of her head.
"Alice, Stiles," Lydia spoke weakly, her gaze on us. She didn't look well, her forehead dripped with sweat. Stiles quickly came forward, kneeling beside the bed. "You can't be here," her eyes flickered to Stiles and I. But I came forward and knelt beside Stiles as I look at her resistant's. "You're going to die if you stay," she warned us. "All of you," she went on, making my heart break seeing her in this state, it was awful.
"We can't leave you here, Lydia," I told her sternly, as Stiles and I swapped places, my hand laid on her head trying to comfort her. Stiles on the other hand was unbuckling her from the bed.
"He's coming," Lydia states, but we knew it was Valack coming back to see how she was doing.
"Lydia, we're not leaving you here," Stiles states also in a firm tone.
"You have to," Lydia's eyes flickered between Stiles and I. Suddenly an alarm beeped, alerting us to someone that was coming this way.
"Stiles, Alice, go," Lydia states making us turn our gazes to her, but she looked desperate for us to leave. "Please," she pushes on knowing that she wanted us gone before we got hurt. Stiles nod before standing us as I followed him, I shut the door behind us so they wouldn't be alerted to knowing someone had been inside with Lydia. We went through the gate we came through and shut that, before hiding around the corner, to hear the beep of the gate at the other-end of the hallway. Stiles and I peep around the corner to see Valack use his key-card to enter Lydia's cell. This wasn't good...
"Stay focused, Lydia," I hear Valack state, as we wasn't fair from the room, we could hear everything. I heard more than Stiles, I heard the blood pulsing from the hole at the side of her head.
"What did you do to me?" Lydia asked Valack.
"I've amplified your abilities. Something that might just save the lives of your friends," Valack responded to Lydia's question, making me sick to the bone.
"Theo and Hayden. They found it. They were looking for Noah, but they found a symbol. A circle inside of another circle, carved into a wall. The symbol of Scott's pack," Lydia states the information to Valack.
"It was more than a symbol, wasn't it? It was a promise to reunite them," Valack asks wanting to know what Lydia does.
"Yes," she replied to Valack.
"But has Scott done it yet? Will he be coming for you?" Valack asks Lydia, wanting to know this important piece of information.
"Someone's coming," Lydia replied, just as the buzzer blares at the end of the hallway. "But it's not Scott," Lydia went on. My eyes glance down to the end of the hallway to see Theo leading the charge, with his pack behind him. Corey, Noah and Tracy. Valack comes out of Lydia's room to stand face to face with Theo and his pack.
"You don't wanna do this, Theo," Valack began his eyes burning into him. "She's safe in here. The Dread Doctors don't know how important she is yet," Valack told them, but Tracy comes forward and growls while slamming Valack into the wall and grabbing his neck, keeping him there. As Theo, Noah and Corey enter Lydia's room.
"She doesn't look good," Noah states.
"She has a hole in her head. It's not a good look for anyone," Corey counters Noah's comment.
"I can't believe this is actually a medical establishment," I hear Theo state after a moment. "Pick her up. We're getting her out of here," Theo orders the two boys.
"Now what would a pack of Chimeras want with a Banshee?" Valack asks Theo, wondering why he wanted Lydia.
"I don't want a Banshee. I'm looking for a Hellhound," Theo states, just as a loud roar echoed through the hallway, making me look down to the other door. To see no other than Parrish, his hands on fire as his clawed hands went through the metal gate, burning it down.
"You wanted a Hellhound... I think you found one," Valack said, my eyes widening at this, but something deep down felt like I all ready knew that. The gate falls to the ground, sparking up embers that leapt from the heated metal. Parrish was on full fire mode, and roared at Theo and the rest... My head suddenly began to hurt, like millions of needles began pressing into my brain. I contained my grunts of pain, as I feel Stiles hand go on my shoulder.
"What's happening?" Stiles whisper in a worried tone.
"I have no idea," I barely got the words out as another painful hit had struck me. But I imagined to lay my eyes upon Parrish who was now through the gate and his body was no longer on fire, but you could still see the cracks in his skin, glowing with an fiery tint. My mind seemed to calm when I was looking at him, like an anchor for my head, but I need him, the hellhound him to help... He looks like he was a creature on a mission, ready to kill. I was the only one that could stop him. But I can't reach him without my magic.
Wait... Valack said that this building was on currents like ley-line, maybe I could channel the ley-lines in Eichen to give me enough power to perform a spell. But channelling raw energy like that is dangerous, channelling too much could kill me. So I better not channel a lot...
"Stiles got a crazy idea, might die. Wish me luck," I told him in a whispered tone, as he just stares at me crazy. But I placed my hand on the floor that we were crouching on and began focusing on the energy that was running through Eichen. In a sense it was like feeling my way around, founding the source of energy... Within seconds, I had found it and felt the rush of power flow into me, my eyes snapping open to look back at Parrish. I channelled enough and disconnected the connection to the ley line. I focused on appearing in-front of Parrish and suddenly, my eyes blurred for a split-second before I stood in front of Parrish. His eyes glance to me, they were oddly soothing to stare at...
"Parrish stop," I told him, and he listened, he came to a halt just an inch in front of me.
"That's no possible," Valack states, making me turn around to face him, Theo and his pack. "You can't perform magic in here," he went on, his eyes widen in shock and surprise as was Theo and his pack of runts.
"You yourself told me that Eichen ran on Ley-lines and simply put, I'm channelling a small portion of its raw energy," I told Valack. "Now give me Lydia," I told Theo in a dark tone, but he suddenly goes into her room and grabs her, bring her out by the throat, his claws on her skin.
"Don't try it," Theo states, as I felt Parrish move forward a bit, but I put my hand back to touch his abdomen. Suddenly, flashes of images played out in my mind. It was the day Lydia and I got attacked, her and I found out what Parrish was, but then I got captured then I died. But my mother had made me forget because it was tied to my past... Just then, I felt weak in my knees and fell backward, but Parrish had caught me, but I wasn't full down, just leaning over as my head pounded like a drum.
"Take them," Theo states to his pack.
"The guy's on fire," Corey moans as he knew he wouldn't win the fight with a hellhound.
"You'll heal. Do it," Theo commanded, but Corey nor Noah moved an inch. My eyes darted up to see Tracy ready to move, but before I could do anything, Parrish moves me back to the wall to lean on, just as Tracy runs for him. Tracy throws her clawed hand into Parrish's abdomen, but it didn't effect him like it did us. He just backhands her a moment later, just as Noah came running down and snatched off a pipe that held wires before using it to channel his power and placed an hand on Parrish's left shoulder, but the effects did noting to him.
"Theo, this isn't working," Noah shouts to him, but Parrish uses his strength to push Noah hard into the wall. But I began to recover from my memory loss.
"Sorry Theo, but I'm not done with her yet," I hear Valack state to the knocked over Theo. I see Valack pick up Lydia just as Parrish picks up Noah and slams him into the ground. He raised his right clawed hand, ready to strike, roaring at Noah. Suddenly, his wrist was grabbed and Corey appeared, but Parrish didn't seemed bothered and then fire generated at their hands before they were both burst into flames from head to toe, Corey's screams filled my ears. Before Parrish throws Corey down the hallway, to Valack, Lydia and Stiles. However, Valack quickly moves himself and Lydia out of the way and Corey hits Stiles, knocking him down.
Parrish began move further down the hallway, but suddenly a metal pole went right through his chest, making me gasp aloud, my eyes widening.
"Parrish!" I scream as he drops to his knees. "Vodux!" I state strongly as I thrusted my hand out to Theo, making him go flying backwards, hitting the ground hard. I rush over to Parrish as I catch him in time to, his eyes no longer their bright flame colour. "You'll be all right," I cooed to him as I stroke his hair but his glow on his body was still being produce, meaning he would be all right. His eyes come to look at me, as he was in that trance once again. But the metal inside of him was heating up, I could feel it. I grab hold of the front part of the rod and the back part, and began pulling in opposite directions. But with my strength and the heat of the rod, it snapped in half and I threw them to the floor. Grabbing Parrish's arm and linked it around my neck, making him stand to his feet. I quickly, push off from my legs and went vamp-speeding out of the hallway and to stairs with Eichen.
But as I came too whatever floor we were on, I hear a very loud high-pitch scream come from everywhere, making me drop Parrish on the bottom step, and I fell to my knees clutching my ears. As I whimper in pain, my head pounding once again... But the pain was overwhelming and I fell forward, sleep dragging me in...
