Chapter Twenty-Four: La Bête

Patients began to leave the hospital as there has been called an full evacuation as the Beast was on his way here. I was currently helping people out of the door and along the hallway, towards the exit. Sirens whirled in my ears as the were alerting the patients to move.

"Again, this is a Code White, a full hospital evacuation. All critical patients will be taken by ambulance to Hill Valley," Melissa spoke over the loud-speaker. Suddenly, the building shook, the lights flashed as the building was shook once again. People began to scream as I push pass them to get to the main desk where Melissa was. As I reached there the building jolted again with force, making me look around as it was so powerful.

"Melissa?" I state to her as she was walking closer to the source of the quakes. However, everyone was out of the hospital meaning they were safe. I came next to Melissa as she stood at the end of the hallway, looking down to the elevator down at the other end. Lights were flashing around us it was like I was going to go into an epileptic fit. But a sudden noise came to our ears like metal straining. My eyes shot down to the elevator just in time to hear the ding sound, but I didn't want to chance it, and grabbed Melissa and pushed off from my legs and vamp-sped back to the entrance and straight out of the hospital.

I came to a halt, luckily, no one had saw what I did as they were too busy leaving. I let go of Melissa as she gives me a smile and a nod of her head, before rushing over to an patient, helping them out. I turn back around to the hospital, feeling something weird like a force pulling me in, wanting me to enter the building. Without knowing it, my feet started to walk, gaining closer to the entrance, but I didn't fight it.

I walk through the double doors back inside, the air was silent just for a split second before a loud crash could be heard from above, then loud growling...

"The fourth floor," I spoke to myself as I made my way to the stairs of the hospital. Wasting no time and rushing up them to the forth floor, before opening the door quietly. But as I open it I see flames parched in the walls, burning like someone took a match too it. The floor was a mess, papers everywhere, some burnt some not. Soot and dirt covered the walls like thick smoke had clung too them. I took each step with care, but roars came from around the corner, and within seconds a bright orange light came from the walls. Suddenly, I see a flames whisk past me, but as my eyes focused and the flames died slightly. I see Parrish, his feet firm on the ground, his head shooting up.

Heavy footsteps, it felt like an earthquake was happening, but suddenly the Beast stood in front of me, it side-ways. My eyes widen as I took a few steps back, but a crunch sound came from my feet, making screw my face up. The Beast look to the left, his glowing blue eyes had met me. The Beast turns it's whole body my way but it didn't move, it just stared at me, it's glowing eyes wondered up and down my body taking in my appearance. But all I could hear was the screams of it's past victims...

"La Bête," I barely spoke, though fear was running through my veins at this moment in time, I didn't let it show. The Beast only cocks it's head side-ways like a dog, but before it could do anymore Parrish attacks from behind, grabbing it around his neck, the flames burning brightly. The Beast roars and struggles, coming a bit forward, waving it's giant clawed hands around. Just then I was backhanded by the Beasts clawed hand, making me go skidding across the floor. I hit a cabinet but not hard enough to do damage. The Beast had gotten Parrish off his back and suddenly runs down the hallway, Parrish chasing his tail.

I took a shaky breath, as I got up right but sat, feeling my heart beating fast as that was kind of scary to witness. Just then, I hear a door open from behind making me cock my head side-ways to see the Sheriff enter his gun pointing but he sees me and quickly comes over.

"Are you all right?" He asks with Fatherly concern.

"Yeah I'm fine," I replied back to him, he offered his hand out and I took it, and he pulls me to my feet as Scott and Stiles enter. I quickly nodded to them knowing that I was ok before they started worrying. All of us went down the hallway, the Sheriff taking lead as he had a gun. We took every step with care but as we neared the end, we see flames on the walls and suddenly Parrish went flying back. Making us all jolt back as he hits the end of the hallway with a bang, before falling to the ground. The flames on him had died once he hit the wall, I come forward to see Parrish gaze on me, his glowing ember eyes locked with mine. He holds his hand on the three large marks on his body, but they were began to heal.

Parrish looked like he was in a trance as his eyes dimmed of that bright fire colour. But I quickly brush pass the Sheriff and made my way over to Parrish, dropping down to my knees to check him over.

"Parrish?" I began with a soft tone, but my gaze went to his body to see the marks gone.  My gaze lifting back up to meet his eyes and his head was turn and he was looking at me. But there was no response... "Jordan!" I used his first name in a stern high voice, making him jolt up right and he was snapped out of it. His eyes wondered mine for a moment, before going to the Sheriff standing next to me. He began take deep breaths as his eyes returned back to me. "You're safe," I told him as my hand rested on his hand as I felt him become relax at my touch. He offers me a faint smile, as he was fighting the Beast to protect us all...

But I feared that the past will repeat itself...

..............................

The next morning had approached, I was too worked up to sleep or get out of my clothes. I stood around the kitchen island at Scott's house, he, Stiles, Malia, Kira, and Liam were around. I cross my arms over my chest, as Stiles was about to begin his master plan to get Lydia out.

"There's four steps. We get into Eichen, we get into the closed unit, we get Lydia, get out," Stiles states to us, his eyes casting to each one. I stood in-between Liam and Kira, my eyes on Stiles.

"And we have to do all of this while getting past orderlies, guards, electric door locks, and a Mountain Ash barrier," Scott states, but that was going to be hard for a lot of us.

"You have a plan for all of that?" Malia had asked, I was glad she was back with us, kind of missed her sass.

"I stole this last night off an orderly," Stiles had brought up a key-card. "But it's useless 'cause they reset the codes each night," Stiles went on, the plan already dwindling.

"So why did you take it?" Kira had asked.

"I'm getting to that," he states while dropping the key-card as it retracts back to his belt.

"The only way to get Lydia out of Eichen is to make that key card work again," Scott states.

"How are you going to do that?" Liam now asked, wanting to know their plan for this.

"We're getting to that, ok, just listen," Stiles states, while spinning the laptop around so the screen was facing us. "I pulled all the history off the key card. Two weeks ago, there was a brownout and the security system rebooted. During a reboot, all of the key cards revert back to a default code. So, if we trigger a reboot-"

"Then the card goes back to the default code. It works once again," I state aloud, as Stiles and Scott's eyes met mine nodding in agreement.

"How are we going to cause a brownout?" Kira asks, as they really didn't say.

"That's your part. You're going to draw power from the main line. But only enough to cause the brownout," Scott states to her.

"Not a blackout," Stiles butted in. "Do that and you send Eichen into lockdown which would be bad. Very, very bad," Stiles was very persistent not to do that.

"There's an electrical room behind the reception counter," Scott began as he points to the blueprint on the island top. "The main power line goes into two breakers that run power to all of Eichen," Scott eyes glance around, but they were mostly on Kira as this was her part.

"Ok, slight problem. I don't know how to do that," Kira's voice was high as she was stressing all ready about it.

"That's ok. You have time to practice," Scott states, encouraging her.

"Let's say all this goes perfectly. How does a brownout get us into the Closed Unit of Eichen?" Malia asked an important question as well as her eyes flicked between the boys.

"The system takes five minutes to reboot. In that five minutes all the alarms will be turned off they key card should work," Stiles replied to Malia's question.

"Liam, you and I get Stiles and Alice to the gate of the Closed Unit. But after that, they have to go on their own. We can't get past the Mountain Ash barrier, and presuming there's going to be a chance that Alice's magic won't work," Scott states to the group.

"They will be knowing that place," I spoke to Scott as he nods his head at me.

"And when we're gone all anyone's going to think is that there was a reboot of the security system caused by a brownout," Scott finishes off, his eyes connecting with all of us.

"Uh, any questions?" Stiles asks the group.

"How do we get into Eichen House in the first place?"
"What's our worst-case scenario?"
"What if I can't do it?"

It was like a rapid fire questions, Liam was first then Malia, and lastly Kira. There made good points though, anything could go wrong.

"Ok, admittedly, a lot could go wrong," Stiles tried to ease our thoughts.

"A lot could go wrong," I state to him, his eyes connecting to mine.

"Guys, if we don't do this, we lose Lydia. She's going to die in there tonight. And she might take a lot of innocent people with her," Scott states, as this was a life or death situation here. If we don't do this Lydia was going to die and I wasn't going to let that happen.

"Lydia's my best friend. I'll do anything to protect her," I told Scott as he knew I meant it. "So, let's do this," I state to them all, my eyes casting to each one of them as they offered a smile to me...
