Chapter Thirty-Two: End This
The next morning approached, I had gotten changed into some fresh clothes, as the other ones I had on were bloody and worn. Liam, and I sat on the stools that were in front of the Island that Lydia, Kira, Stiles, and Malia stood around.
"My dad's got an APB out," Stiles began, his eyes casting to everyone.
"For a 5'8, Six-teen-year-old?" Kira asks.
"I recommended nine-foot tall rampaging werewolf," Stiles states in his humour tone.
"It still might not be him," Liam said his tone hopeful, as he didn't want to believe that Mason was the one turning into the Beast and killing all those people. All of us took our gaze to him, giving him a look, knowing that it was him. "But, Hayden's at the school looking," Liam states his gaze on the counter for a moment before looking back up.
"I can keep checking the woods," Malia added her gaze on Stiles.
"My mom can check all the hospitals in the county," Scott's voice rang out making us all cock our gazes to see him enter the kitchen. "We can find him," Scott was positive on finding Mason.
"What happens then?" Liam asks, wanting to know.
"We figure out a way to save him," Scott eyes were on Liam, knowing he would do everything he could to save Mason.
"Where else can we look?" I asked, Scott's eyes met mine for a moment.
"Let's ask Corey," Scott states but I frown at him, before Scott turns and grabs something in-front of the shelve and Corey came visible, making everyone become surprise. But I just sat and watched from my stool.
"Wait. Wait. It's not my fault," Corey stammers out, as Scott had a good grip on his shirt. "They took him and I couldn't do anything. They took him.."
"Who?" Scott asks, cutting Corey off from his rambling.
"The Dread Doctors," he states to us. Someone really does need to kill them...
And I would gladly do the deed...
.....................................
Time had passed we had all separated to do our own jobs, Scott and Liam went to school. Malia stayed at Scott's house for protection with extra protection from Braeden. Stiles and Lydia was at the station talking to the Sheriff, see if they could find Mason. Parrish and I met up, there was still a bit of daylight left and I needed to see Parrish. I don't know why, but I felt like I needed to talk to him. About? I have no idea, I just wanted to hear his voice.
I arrived at the Police station to see Parrish in the parking lot, leaning against his car, his eyes scanning the area, to see if he could find me. I come forward and his eyes cast over to me, and his face lift up and I heard his heart beat pick up slightly.
"Alice," Parrish's voice filled the air, as I cock my gaze towards him, offering a small smile as I came to a halt.
"Hey Parrish," I state to him, as his hands goes into his pockets, as he looks kind of nervous. But I also felt awkward around him, like since I got my memories back about figuring out he's a Hellhound and what happened at Eichen. Those warm ember eyes...
"So you really knew the Beast?" He began, his voice in disbelief as he couldn't believe it and it was totally expected from him. But my gaze on him softened, and the past began to flash in my mind, give for a brief second.
"I did," I answered Parrish back. "The man behind the Beast. The one who killed for sport and without mercy," tears threatened my eyes, as my voice raised as the thought of it made me sick. "Men, woman, children slaughtered for far too long. So, I offered my help and created the Pike that would end the Beast once and for all... So I thought," tears rolled down my cheeks as I couldn't hold them back. Suddenly, I felt Parrish reach out and pull me into his embrace his arms wrapping around me, emitting heat.
"You did what you could," Parrish replied to me, making me relax in his hold.
"And it wasn't enough, The Beast can be resurrected and once that happens Mason will be gone," I spoke back to Parrish while ending the hug between us, my eyes glancing into his. "You are the only one who can finish the job, Parrish. You can end this. I know you can," I gave him a peep-talk as the Hellhound part of him can finish all of this. My eyes searched deep into his as he knew deep down he could fight the Beast and will win.
"Thank you," he states back to me, offering a smile. I gave him a warm smile back, before leaning up and kissed his cheek, it was unexpected but he let it happen. I pulled back after a moment, our eyes connecting, but before I could process anything else Parrish comes crashing in with his lips, they pressed against mine. I wasn't stunned, it felt right and I know it felt right to him. My lips felt like they were on fire, my body heated, all in a good way. My heart burst with love and happiness, but there was still the matter of Derek on my mind. Suddenly, pull back gently, a subtle way of ending the kiss and he knew it. Our eyes connecting once again, but he wore a slight frown, like I didn't want this to happen...
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"
"No it's fine," I cut Parrish off before he could finish. "I really like you Parrish, I do. But this isn't the right time too do this," I told him truthfully, I couldn't fall in love, not again. Love ones die on me and I couldn't bare it...
"I understand," he spoke softly, with a warm boyish smile on his face. "But know that I will always protect you, no matter what," he told me, making my heart flutter with joy as a smile came to my lips. "You'll probably protect me more anyway," he confess after a moment, with a smirk on his face, making me giggle.
"Probably" I replied back to him with a chuckle. "Now let's end this once and for all," I told him with a determined tone, as he nodded his head firmly. This was going to be the end of the Beast...
......................
Night had fallen upon us, I had met up with Scott, Liam and I hate to say it, Theo. Though I still wanted to rip his head off from his shoulders, Scott told me he wanted to help, but we were just using him. We walk through the woods, Liam catching Mason's scent, hoping that it would lead us to him, as my locator spells wasn't working. I walk at the side of Liam as Scott and Theo were a few meters ahead.
"Where is he?" Scott asks Theo, knowing what he meant.
"I thought we were looking for him," Theo answered back, playing dumb to Scott's question.
"You know who I'm talking about," Scott replied back, his eyes burning into Theo, but he didn't turn to face him.
"Deucalion?" Theo states, as we continued to walk through the woods.
"You shouldn't trust him," Scott states, but that was the point to all of this. Theo's and Deucalion friendship...
"And you're the one who let him live," he remarked back to Scott, knowing that it was on him for keeping him alive.
"I'm not a murderer," Scott deafened himself knowing that he wasn't and I liked that about him, he knew that there was another option.
"You still think you're gonna get through all this without killing anyone?" Theo clapped back to him, his head turning to look at Scott for a moment.
"I didn't say that," Scott went on but as we walked, I feel Liam slow and come to a halt, making me stop a few inches in front of him. Also Theo had came to a halt to look at Liam, who was sniffing the air for a moment.
"We're close," Liam states, his gaze to the ground.
"You get his scent?" Scott asks, Liam's gaze shot up to meet his eyes and he gave him a nod. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Theo cock his gaze between Scott and Liam as the air was thick with tension.
"Which way?" Theo asks his eyes now on Liam. But his gaze went to Scott, and Scott's gaze went to Theo, it was like a Mexico stand-off, the air was so thick with tension you could literally cut it with your nail. "You think you're going to leave me behind?" Theo asks as it was a possibility.
"It's an idea," I finally spoke up, my eyes meeting his as a smirk tugged on my lips.
"Liam..." Scott states his eyes on him, wanting him to tell us which way to go.
"Look, he wants to kill him," Liam replied back, his eyes going to Theo.
"I just want his power. You want to fight someone that actually wants to kill Mason? Go fight Parrish," Theo retorted to us, making me give him a deadly stare.
"Don't bring Parrish into this, he's doing his job to protect us all," I spat at Theo, knowing Parrish wouldn't hurt anyone if he didn't need too.
"Who did you see when you put on the mask?" Liam asks Theo, as Scott told me a enough about what Theo had being doing. He had gotten a mask from Eichen that Valack was going to use on Lydia to find out who the Beast was.
"I already told you. It wasn't Mason,"
"Who was it?!" Liam's voice raised slightly.
"I saw a man dying in the snow. He was impaled on a spear," Theo states to the group, as he saw Sebastian being impaled by the Pike, I spelled...
"Pike not spear," I said aloud, as their gazes cocked to me.
"Then you all know what it means. Time's running out. Where is he, Liam? What direction?" Theo states, though I hate to admit it too myself, he's right, we didn't have a lot of time.
"This way," I hear Liam speak as my mind was somewhere else. He moves forward and we began following him once again, leaves and twigs crunched under me...
Deep down, I hope Mason was still inside...
