Chapter Four: Not What It Seems
The next day had arrived. All my friends stood around Stiles's jeep and we had fresh meat. His name was Mason, he was Liam's best friend and he had told him what he was and the rest of us what we were. I've had experience with telling mortals about the supernatural world. Some take it well, others don't...
"Tracy wasn't just having trouble sleeping. It was a real disorder. It was night terrors," Lydia had state to us, making me focus back onto the matter at hand.
"Well, now she's the night terror. Especially since no once can find her," Stiles had added, making me cast my gaze upon him.
"Ok, I know we're all tired and miserable..." Scott cuts himself off and looks to his right to look at Mason who's expression was full of excitement. "Except for you," Mason's head whipped around to face Scott.
"Oh, I'm sorry. This is all just mind-blowing," Mason began, before his gaze went to Kira. "You're a kitsune and you're a Hybrid," Mason states as his gaze went to mine, which I stood next to Kira. "I don't even know what they are," I think he was referencing a Kitsuna and a Hybrid.
"I'm still learning," Kira had said to him, as she was still in the learning process of being a Kitsune.
"And I'm still immortal," I flashed my eyebrows up at him, as my comment took time to sync into his brain.
"Liam, we said you could tell him. Not invite him to the inner circle," Stiles had said before Mason could reply to my comment.
"Uh, I'm in the inner circle?" Mason stated as he was surprised to hear this.
"No," both Liam and Stiles state in union.
"Guys, look, back to Tracy," Scott went back on track stepping closer to the jeep. "She's just one lone wolf. We can find her," Scott really wanted to find Tracy before she kills someone else.
"One lone serial-killing wolf," Malia had piped up.
"Uh, she only killed one person, you know. The other two were mauled... What do we do when we catch her?" Stiles had raised the important question.
"I say we put her down," Malia had stated but we know she hadn't been human long and she was still learning the human way of things. But at times she knows right from wrong. We all reminded silent as our eyes cast to one another, the air thickening with tension.
"Intense," Mason had spoke after a moment or two.
"Guys, let's concentrate on catching her first. We'll figure out the rest later," Scott was dismissing Malia's comment for now as he wasn't going to shed blood of a teenager.
"Question..." Everyone's eyes went to mine as my voice was serious. "Do you guys like my hair? None of you have commented on it yet," I had replied quickly, flicking my hair around with my hands, though it wasn't a great time to comment on my hair.
"I mean I didn't say anything at first as it was awful to look at," Lydia had replied making me turn to face her. "But now, it suits you," she reaches out and touches the tips of my hair, examining the shorten length.
"Why thanks," I replied sarcastically to her, while rolling my eyes. "Anyway, I've got an AP History paper to write," I waved goodbye to everyone, taking a few steps away from them.
"But you don't have any books," Mason had said, noticing that I didn't bring any books with me, making me turn around.
"Oh honey, who needs books when you lived through it yourself," I had replied chuckling at my response as Mason looked gobbed-smacked like I had just dropped a big bomb on him. Technically, I did. "After we find Tracy and that. I'll tell you what really went down on the Titanic," I state with seriousness, as everyone's faces turn into surprise. I left them wanting to know more...
.........................................
Time had passed, I was half-way writing my AP History paper on the Civil war. I was a nurse to the men who went off to fight and fought some battles myself while I defended people of the USA. But not all wars can be won within months. This war lasted four years and thousands upon thousands had died on both teams. It was truly shocking to behold...
I had gotten a text from Scott staying that they had found Tracy and had taken her to the clinic as she had thrown up some metallic substance from her mouth. I had no idea why she was throwing up metallic substance. I had packed up all my things from within the library and putting them in my bag. My eyes cast up to see that Theo kid staring at me, but when my eyes met his, they went back to a book he was reading like I wasn't going to notice. I smiled to myself as I found it cute, but I had no time to flirt. I sling my bag over my shoulders and began walking to the exit. As I began to come in front of the table Theo was sat on, he quickly closes the book and stands up.
"Hey," he had begun, making me stop inches in front of him as he emitted a small smile. "You're Alice right?" Theo had asked.
"The one and only," I had chuckled to him as he also let out a deep laugh for a moment.
"I just wanted to introduce myself properly as I didn't get the chance too the other day," Theo went on as his reason was understandable. "I'm Theo," he went on, but I all ready knew his name, but the gesture was there.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Theo," I held my hand out for him to shake and he didn't waste anytime in shaking my hand. His hand was firm and had a good grip.
"Nice to meet you too," he replies as the handshake came to an end. "I like your hair," he had commented, pointing to my hair, making me smile some more.
"Thank you," I began to blush my cheeks filling with warmth. "Anyway, I gotta go. But I'll see you around," I state to him as he nods and gives me a boyish grin, which was hella cute. I walk pass him, brushing some loose strands of hair behind my ear, as I feel his eyes on me. I left the library behind and made my way to the vet clinic as I need my game face on...
****
Once I arrived at the clinic I had gone through the back way, leaving my bag within my car. Once I came into view of the back room, I see Tracy laid on her front, her back on display. As Scott and Stiles were off to one side as Deaton and Malia on the other side. I look to the floor to see mountain ash lining the exit, stopping Tracy and the others from crossing it.
"Oh, Mountain ash," I had piped up as everyone's gaze had cocked to me.
"Can you get through it?" Stiles had asked, as I look to him and gave a smugly look as I stride forward, passing the mountain ash without being stopped.
"I'm a Hybrid, Stiles. Half-Witch, meaning this stuff doesn't effect me like Scott and Malia," I began as I came to a halt at the base of the metal table Tracy was on. "I mean unless it's altered," I went on as I look between them all. "So, what's happening with Tracy?" I had asked Deaton coming to the side of him, looking down at Tracy's back, but it was moving like something was within her. I lean further forward to look closely at her back as it wiggles in her back. "Guys, this doesn't look good," I had urged them, my voice worried.
I lean back as Scott and Stiles come over to view Tracy's back as something in her was wiggling around and looks quite distributing. Deaton was pressing his index and middle finger to the middle of her back, trying to figure what it was. Deaton retracts his fingers as the thing wiggles further down...
Suddenly, her back splits open, like literally and black blood had shot out and hit Scott and Deaton in their faces. Some of it had got onto me, making me frown not at the blood on me but at her spine which was moving around. It was quite an unsettling sight to see.
We watched for a few moments, but then a tail had sprung from her spin and slashing Stiles's chest, making him go back in shot. But then the tail whips around, hitting Deaton and I. A string had came from my left shoulder, making me go back in shock. Deaton and fallen over and onto the floor. I look to my shoulder to see the wound heal, but I could feel the effects of the toxins running through my body. I began to weaver and fall back against the equipment behind me as Malia was now down. Tracy was now crouching on the table, before she turns around and slashes Scott, making him groan and go backwards.
Tracy jumps down from the metal table and looks around, hissing at us before she blots to the door where the mountain ash was line. But she wasn't stopped by it she went straight through, breaking it. I frown as my legs began to numb, making me stumble forward and clutching onto the metal table. But then all the feeling in my body had left, and I slid down and to the floor, laying on my right side.
"It wasn't a werewolf," Stiles had said, his voice raised due to the stress.
"Kanima," Scott had spoken, making me hate this even more as I remember the last time I was attacked by one of them...
"Hey, Deaton, how the hell did she get through the Mountain Ash?" Stiles raised his voice as this was an excellent question to be aware of.
"I don't know," Deaton had replied honestly. "It's a barrier no supernatural creature should be able to cross," Deaton had went on.
"Scott did it," Stiles retorted back.
"Once, but it almost killed me," Scott had said, making eyes on him as I was side-ways and I could see him.
"We should've killed her," Malia had snapped at us, knowing something like this could happen.
"Meanwhile, she's probably on her way to killing someone else," Stiles had barked at us, knowing now that she might kill.
"Listen, everyone. We need to concentrate. Scott, Malia, and Alice you three will probably be able to move long before Stiles and I can. But you need to focus," Deaton had explained to us as we needed a way to start moving again.
"Focus on what?" Malia's voice was raised as I could hear a hint of sacredness in her tone.
"Healing," Scott had said calmly.
"That's right," Deaton had said. But I could hear Malia breathing heavily as she was stressing out about this.
"I don't know how to tell my body to heal," Malia had said her voice not calm at all.
"Malia, calm down. It's ok..." Stiles had said to her, trying to make her calm.
"I can't calm down. I can't move," She had raised her voice at Stiles.
"It won't last long. We are gonna be ok," I had piped up to ensure her it wouldn't last long. "You guys do you're thing, I'm gonna do mine," I had replied, as I closed my eyes and began to concentrate and blocked out everything around me. I was thinking of a body part, even my finger tips, willing them to move. Just then, my eyes shot open to see my fingers wiggle, knowing I was regaining movement as I was healing faster than them.
But out of the corner of my eye I see Malia wiggle her fingers, as the toxin within wasn't much. "Keep going, Malia," I encouraged her as she was moaning through it. She places her hand down, and she began to stand, willing herself to stand.
"What's happening I can't see," Stiles had asked, but no one answered as we just watched Malia, stand up from her position. Within moments, she was on her foot but staggered forward, catching the table. "Malia? Malia, wait for us,"
"There's no time," Malia states, her breathing heavy.
"Looks, she's not a werewolf," Stiles went on to say, trying to make her wait.
"But she has a scent. I can find her," Malia had counted Stiles.
"Malia," Scott began, as her eyes cock to him. "Save her," but Malia didn't say anything beside her grunting and running off and going to find Tracy...
Malia will do the right thing and save her...
