4 a.m

       4am is not for the happy
         It's not for the fulfilled
         It's not for the couples
             Sleeping soundly
           In each other's arms

           4 a.m is for the lonely
      Awake with the emptiness
       And the feeling of never
           Being good enough
             It's for the desire
          To be loved in return

         4 a.m is for the poets
         Spilling their feelings
             Out on the paper
        Giving life to the words
            That they never had
            The courage to speak.

     4 a.m is for broken hearted
For the tears that spill to no end
          For missing someone
           That wouldn't waste
      Their time on missing you

           4 a.m is for the people
       With a smile on their face
        But sadness in their eyes
         For the cuts that bleed
              The demons out

     4 a.m is not for the people
