Melanie's POV

It's been a few months since I have been back to my place. But today wasn't the same. It was raining heavily and I heard Jen shouting with someone, maybe someone from the castle.

"I told you a billion times, I don't want to torture her anymore, I just want her to die, instantly. I want her to die from stabbing or hanging her or taking all of her blood or I don't know, something!" She yelled, kinda.

"I apologize, my Queen." The guard said.

"You should be sorry. Now prepare the tools and everything." Jen said.

Now I started panicking. I promised Dark that I won't die, and I will keep that promise. I started shaking the chains, trying to get my hands out but we all know it was useless. I remembered that the last time I wanted to try the candle. There was this high candlestick and if I pour the candle wax between my wrist and the chain, I might be able to pull out. But I needed to tilt the stick perfectly. I got closer to the candle and tried to grab it, which was easy. But it was hard to tilt perfectly. I tried it slowly and carefully and it worked for a while then I got impatient so I almost made it fall onto the ground. But I felt the wax dripping which meant I was almost done. I adjusted it and the wax was dripping on my arm. I felt the warm wax on wrist and I had to act quickly, unless it will get dry. But I tried to pull out my hand. It was hard and painful, but I did it. After minutes both of my hands were free. Then I broke the candlestick and tried to open the chains on my ankles with it. Minutes passed and I was free. I heard footsteps and I blew out the candles. It was dark, only the moon shined the cell a little. I went to a corner to hide.

"Oh no." I heard. "No no no no!" It must have been the guard.

"Why are you saying 'no'? Did some-" Jen stopped for a second. "You. Had. One. Job."

"P-Please, I am sorry Queen J-Jennifer! Please, f-forgive me! I am b-begging you." The guard said and begged her.

"You don't deserve to live after this." She said. "GUARDS!" The guards arrived. "Take this rat to the dungeon and don't give him anything! Tomorrow morning, he will be hung and people will watch it. Fool."

Then the guards took him away. He was still begging. He said he has a family and children, but Jen didn't care, she didn't give a damn. Everyone walked away, but Jen looked into the cell one last time. She wanted to open the cell door, but it was locked. Fuck.

"What the heck?" She said and took her keys out and opened the cell door. I was fucked. She lighted up the candles, well, she tried and it almost worked. While she was trying, I had to think fast about my escape. I had enough power to make a wind and that will blow the candles out. I started to walk very quietly and carefully. Every step I took, the more impatient I became. Then there was this one step when I almost fell so I made a sound. Jen looked at the dark shadow, but I don't know if she saw me. She lighted a match that she had and walked to me. She almost reached me when she heard yelling.

"Queen Jennifer!" She heard. Her match faded and she ran upstairs. She almost caught me, geez. Luckily, she left the door open so I instantly ran to the door and ran. There was only one way up. I ran up on the cold stairs and I stopped at a wooden door. It was locked. I tried to open it by kicking it and later it worked. I heard Jen yelling with someone.

"I told you many fucking times! I don't this! I don't wanna see it or touch it, just, throw it away!" Jen yelled.

"But Queen Jenni-"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ANYMORE BELLA!" I heard a slap. No. It was Bella, the maid who actually cared about me. " Tear it and burn it!"

I didn't know what was it, but it must've been something tearrible. I heard her footsteps fading away. I quickly ran to Bella.

"Bella! Bella! Are you okay?" I said as my hands were on her head.

"Melanie... Miss Melanie!" She said as she got back into reality.

"Bella-"

"There is no time to waste. I knew this day would come. Follow me. " She said as she grabbed my hand.

"Be-"

"This letter, I made this. I wrote that another king called Sir Francis, wanted to have a conversation with her about connecting the kingdoms. I knew Jen would never agree on that. But it worth it. Now she is in her room, writing a letter back. We have no time to waste. I will give a cloak with a hood on it. And we have a horse, so you can escape faster. " She said.

We were running to the riding hall. When we arrived, she gave me the cloak and I instantly put it on. It was dark green. Then we walked to the horse she was talking about. When I saw her, she was gorgeous.

"Moon, come here." She said. The horse was black, no white, just black. Her brown eyes were dark, just like mine.

"She is yours now. Let's go." Bella said. We went outside and it was raining heavily.

"Bella, thank you so much." I said as I hugged her. She hugged back, but we let go and looked at each other. Tears were on our cheeks. "I will never forget you."

"Me nei-"

She couldn't finish her sentence. All we saw that her white maid clothes became redder and redder. She became pale, so pale. Then a smile and a lil' laugh. She looked down and so did I. She was shot. Then she fell, but I quickly caught her. She was laying on the wet ground, I was holding her on the back of her neck and head. Now I was crying even more.

"Bella, no. You can't go." I said.

"Melanie... You have to go now." She said, holding my dress.

"I can't leave you here." I said.

"Melanie... Please... For me... " She said.

I had to let her go or I am going back to the dungeon. So I held her tight for the last time then I let her go. I was running to Moon and get on her. I looked back at Bella. I could see her smile. Rest in Peace, Bellatrix Douglas.

I made the horse jump over the gate. We were running, going away from the castle. I finally escaped, I could barely believe it. With the help of my first friend, who is in Heaven now. But my thoughts were interrupted by an arrow. The guards and Jen were following me.

"SHOOT AT HER! KILL HER!" Jen yelled.

I made the horse run faster and she did. Moon was an incredible horse, I had to admit. Then I felt a sharp pain in my arm and looked at it. They shot my arm with an arrow. I took it out and threw at them. It didn't hit them, but didn't distract them either. The rain made it worse and harder for me to run away from everything. I was afraid, because if Moon's feet slip in the muddy ground she will fall on the ground and so will I. But then it looked like we were a little bit faster than them. We were running away from them, it seemed like hours.

"SHOOT THE HORSE!" Jen shouted. This was time when I had to say goodbye to Moon. We were still running away but she started to run faster like she heard what they said, she understood it. She turned right and ran into the thick fog. They couldn't really see us. I heard them yelling, but far away. Moon stopped and I had to get off of her. It was hard to say goodbye from her, but I had to, she can't die like Bella. Moon was the only thing that reminded me of Bella and I couldn't lose her. I was in front of her and hugged her by the neck.

"Goodbye Moon." I said. I let go of her.  "Go and run away from me. Maybe we will meet again. " I said. She understood me and ran away. I miss her.

My thoughts were interrupted by Jen and the guards. I think they found me. I started to run. I put my hood over my head, but it didn't help much. I was running until I came out of the fog and all saw was a big field with a few trees. I must have run for 20 minutes. Then I fell on the ground, right into a mud pond. I quickly stood up because I heard that Jen was getting closer. I don't even know how could I run this fast. There were times when I almost fell. The fog was getting bigger and thicker. My clothes were wet and cold. At least the wind wasn't blowing. Then I felt another pain in my leg, in my thigh. An arrow. This made me slower so I needed to hide behind a tree. I fell on the ground, into the mud of course. I rolled to a tree and hid behind it. It was hard to stand up. I pulled the arrow out and my thigh started to bleed. I ripped a part of my dress out and wired the wound. The arrow went really deep and that's why so many blood came out. I did the same with my arm. That wasn't that deep as my leg. I stood there in silence, well, I was breathing heavily and tried not to, but I couldn't. I heard the horses going and going. I was thin enough to hide behind a tree. But then someone stopped.

"What did you stop?" Jen asked.

"Here is the arrow that we shot her. She must be near. I don't see blood going in line. " A guard said.

"Shit!"

I heard someone getting off of their horse and walking to this tree. I was cursing in silence. I knew they would find me here so I grabbed the arrow (it was still near me) and stabbed the guy in the eye. They saw it and started to chase me again. I was still running. I felt like this is the end. I couldn't run anymore. I was tired, hungry, thirsty, weak. I was running with my thoughts. Dark popped into my head and Wishu and Anti-J. I couldn't give up now. I have started it, I have to finish it. For them. For Bella. But before I could finish my thoughts I stopped. There was a cliff and if I don't stop, I fall down and die, probably. I looked down. High cliff. There was no way out for me. I heard Jen's crew, they stopped and I turned around.

"Well, well, well." She was walking towards me. "There is no escape now. Poor lil' Melanie. You have no choice, not like you ever had."

"I have a choice." I said. I didn't know why I said that. I had to be strong. I needed to think about my escape. Only one thing came into my mind.

"Really? What is it?" She looked curious.

"I go with you or I jump." I said.

"You? Jump down? You would die anyway!" She said and laughed. "I told you have no choice. But I would prefer you going with us. I wanna see you dead."

"I would rather not." I said walked back a few steps.

"C'mon Melanie. We all know that you wanna see Dark and the others." She said.

"You killed Bella! And don't say anything about Dark!" She tried to make me angry.

"Ohh, sorry. I meant to say that you don't wanna see your friends dead." She laughed.

"I know what you wanna see. And I will give it to you." I said taking more steps back.

"Don't jump!" She said.

"Why?" I walked back. I could have fallen down.

"I promised the Elder Council that they can get your blood. If I don't give them, they are gonna kill me. Please Melanie. I don't want to lose this kingdom and anything. " She broke down. That was the letter, well, fake letter. So connecting the two kingdoms meant a threat to Jen. If she doesn't give the elders what they want they are gonna kill her and get her kingdom.

"People would be happier." I said.

"Melanie-"

"I didn't beg for you to stop torturing me, I didn't beg for you to bring me food and water, I didn't beg for anything. Now you begging me to give you my blood. Idiot. " I said.

"Melanie, I am sorry." Her right hand was behind her back. Stupid. I knew she was holding a syringe or a knife. And even the guards started to walk to me with guns and bows.

"Hey Jen." I said.

"What?" She said.

"Go fuck yourself." I said and I put my arms out in 90 degree and started to fell backwards. I felt that my feet almost left the ground. My body was in the air now and it left the ground. I was falling down into the cold water. While I was falling I saw Jen screaming and putting her hand after me, but she was too slow. I rethought what I just did. My life flashed in front of my eyes. The time when mom gave me food, water, when I felt happiness in little things, when Bella helped me, when I met Dark, Wishu, Anti-J, when I killed my family, when I was having my 16th birthday with Dark, and when Jen became the queen and tortured the shit out of me. But one good memory with her. When we both agreed on making our aunt going to jail for nothing. And when she let me stay in the castle for a 1 month with my friends. Then I felt tears and a weak smile on my face. I said goodbye to the world. "Sorry Dark." Then I closed my eyes and my body reached the cold water. I was slowly sinking. This was the end for me now. I was still sinking, alive. I wanted to end everything. But then I saw a light. Then I cave. I was still alive, which was strange, because the cliff was so high. But I couldn't really see what was in the cave. I started to swim towards it and it was closer every moment. I was almost out of air. When I reached it I came up from the sea and looked around. I was catching for air and I cleared my eyes a bit. There was a fire in the cave and other stuffs. I didn't know what was it. I started to walk out. I only took one step when I saw the person who was living here. A very familiar person, more like woman.

"Melanie!" Neoma said.

"Neoma!" I said. I got out of the little pool she had in this cave and ran to her. I was so freaking happy to see her alive.

"Oh God, you are freezing. Let me bring you a towel." She said and quickly gave me a towel. I walked to the fire. She even gave me a cup of camilla tea.

"Okay, I will tell you the story, but how are you alive? I saw the guards taking you away." I said.

"Well, yes. They took me to the castle, in front of that bitchy Jennifer. They kneeled my down and I had to kiss her hand, just like everyone else. But instead of that I spitted on her hand. She slapped me and said to the guards to cut my neck. But I grabbed my 'magical' dust and threw it on the ground. It turned into a blue fire and took me away from that place. I ended near the cave and I knew the place already. I went back to my place for my stuffs and got back here. I even have a garden. And actually I knew you would come, but you were early." She told me.

"How early?" I asked.

"Well, 2 months and 24 days early." She said.

"Wow." I said.

I told her my story, the torture and everything. She was listening to my story and tried to understand me.

"I see." She looked down. "I know how you can defeat you sister."

"Really?" I said.

"All you need is training. You need to control you power. But everytime you used it, you overused it and you were weak after it, that was the problem. But I will help you." She said.

I saw that hope was in front of me as a person. I knew I had a chance against my sister.

"But you need to rest now and eat." She said.

She gave me some food and I ate all of it. It was normal food, nothing wrong with it. She showed me where was the bed and everything. She told me to sleep there, it was like a guest room. This underground cave wasn't bad. I rolled the blanket over my body and closed my eyes. This was the beginning of a new chance and life.
