Chapter 2

After their meal the two found themselves down the road, sitting outside a cheap looking motel.

Bohdan wanted to sleep, Luna wanted to leave and yet neither seemed to want to part ways just yet.

"So why are you out on the street's pretending to be a badass biker chick?" Bohdan asked as he eyed the bike, sitting propped on it's kickstand.

"I don't pretend, I am who I am. I was kicked out of my parents place when I was fifteen...my dad was a redundant rodeo rider who liked to beat my mum up. My mum...I dunno, guess she was in love with him and still is. She just kind of ignored all that shit, ya know? So when my dad started getting at me for being weak...and a monster I lost my shit and punched him in the face, broke his nose and all that." They had blamed Luna and her 'illness' for their current situation, she couldn't blame them really.

She was hard to deal with around the time of a full moon and she made it even more difficult but it didn't giver her father the right to harass her and say the things he had said.

"That shit scared him half to death, I could see it in his face and I guess after that they just couldn't stand being around me. We booked into this really seedy motel one night on dad's come back tour, I woke up the next morning and they were gone...didn't even pay for the room." Luna again said, she'd learned long ago to keep the emotion from her voice, the fact her family had kicked her out of their little circle and had abandoned her at the same time had cut deep but it had also sent her a clear message.

"What about you? What pushed you away from your mama's tit?" Luna could see the question got to Bohdan and it made her wonder briefly what his past had been like, perhaps it hadn't all been rainbows and butterflies.

"Never knew my mom, she died when I was quite young. My dad worked a lot when I was younger, I supposed 'cause I look like my mom or something like that. He was never around, he didn't even know what I was until last year and then he decided to lock me away in a house...in the middle of nowhere." Bohdan didn't mind the home, his food was delivered once a week, except around the time of the full moon and then no one approached his secluded hide away.

"My dad was an only kid, my grandparents couldn't give two shits about me...I don't know my mom's family either." He said with a shrug, of course Bohdan had his credit card.

Another good thing that his father had done for him.

The less he had to deal with his son the better and Bohdan, over the years found that he liked it that way as well.

"Well aren't we a couple of depressing losers?

She couldn't even get high.

"I've never had alcohol before, but I'd like to try. If you can't get drunk then I shouldn't be able to as well...right?" Bohdan asked, the last thing he wanted was to pass out and wake up naked in the middle of nowhere.

He'd seen stories on the news while in seclusion of things of that nature happening.

"I don't know, I've been drinking a few years now so I've probably built up a tolerance to it. You on the other hand look like a bottle of beer will knock you out. Don't worry, I might be a bitch but I'm not a heartless bitch." Luna was well aware of how she came across to other people, for the most part it was a front but from time to time she really could be an ass.

Bohdan sighed in relief at hearing that she wouldn't abandon him if he became legless.

"You can call me Boh, if you want. I don't like Bohdan, most everyone just calls me Boh. Dad's the only one that call's me by my full name." Boh offered as he watched Luna stand and stood as well,

For the most part he had lived a sheltered life, fashioning his personality off of men that he'd seen in television shows or old school films. Boh wasn't a fan of the new stuff they had been putting out recently, it was repetitive and boring and many of the men came across as being obnoxious and pretentious.

"So, lets go. You don't look twenty one, do you have i.d in case we're asked for it?" Luna asked, in heels she was a head taller than Bohdan and aside from his eyebrows and eye lashes it didn't appear that he'd sprouted hair on his face at all.

"Yeah, I have some. It's not like we'll be asked though, I'm twenty seven not twelve." Boh snorted as he fished out his wallet, he'd never had a reason for i.d but was glad he'd gotten any form of it recently...his driver license of all things.

"Trust me, the way you look we'll be asked." Luna was surprised to hear that he was twenty seven, she was twenty five and she looked older. Then again she hadn't been locked in a house somewhere for ten years, she had to live and make a living any way that she could.

There was a small alcohol store at the other end of the block, Luna wanted tequila, Boh not having any experience with alcohol picked vodka and true to Luna's words they had been asked for identification.

"So are we booking into that motel or were we just sitting out?" Boh asked as he uncapped the vodka bottle, Luna stilled his hand however as she walked towards her bike.

"Do you have money?" She asked, to which Boh nodded.

"We'll go to another place then, I've already been to this place. The people aren't nice and the room's aren't that safe." Luna sat on her bike, flipping the kick-stand back before patting the back portion of her seat.

Boh moved from one foot to the other, uncomfortably looking at the bike before looking at Luna.

"You getting on or what? Don't worry it's just down the road so if you scream like a chick then the torture will only last five minutes." Luna reassured him as she stowed her bottle away in one of the saddle bags, she motioned for Boh to do the same but still he didn't move.

"Last chances loser, get on or this is see ya," the ultimatum seemed to jostle Boh into action and he handed the vodka bottle over to Luna before climbing awkwardly onto the bike.

"Hold on," was all she said before she started her bike up and started down the road.

The way Boh was clinging on to her for dear life made Luna smirk as she increased the speed a little, wanting to scare the shit out of him.

Boh thought he'd be man enough not to squeal but when Luna turned sharply around a bend not only did he squeal like a girl afraid of a spider but he also squeezed his eyes closed and gripped Luna a little tighter.

The only reply from Luna was a chuckle, Boh realized then that she was playing with him but he didn't care.

This was a completely new experience for Boh and it was one he hoped never to repeat again.

After what seemed like an eternity Luna began to slow the bike until they eventually stopped.

When Boh felt her lean the bike against it's kickstand he slowly opened his eyes and peeled himself away from her, the place she had brought them to wasn't what he'd been expecting and it must have shown on his face because Luna smirked.

"I thought we were going to a motel?" Boh asked as he took in the area around them.

It was more or less a field of grass, there seemed to be a lake in the distance or something of the sort which made Boh wonder just how long the 'five minutes' down the road had really been.

"Thought about it, but then I figured you'd probably puke your guts out and I wanted to be loud....this is for the best, at least that way we won't get kicked out in the middle of the night and I won't have to drive or sleep on the side walk." Luna shrugged as she unpacked her saddle bags, she wasn't sure what Boh was going to sleep on but at least she had a blanket for herself.

"I guess that's wise, but what am I supposed to sleep on, in and under?" Boh hadn't even thought about packing a bag, the first chance he had to run he took it and never looked back...that was a week ago and now he was trailing Luna.

"Sleep in your clothes, on the grass and under the stars." Luna replied as she spread her blanket out on the grass.

No sooner had it settled than Boh was reclining on top of it, making himself comfortable.

"What do you think you're doing?" She asked through gritted teeth, Luna was willing to let Boh hang around but him taking liberties like this wasn't something she wanted him to get used to.

"Well, it was your choice to sleep outside so I'm taking advantage of some comfort." The satisfied smile on Boh's face lasted all of two seconds before he was rolled off as Luna yanked the blanket out from beneath him.

"My blanket," she growled as she grabbed hers and his bottles from the bags and handed the vodka over to Boh.

It was going to be interesting to watch his reactions.

"Fine, no need to get all catty about it." Boh joked as he took the offered bottle from her, in all honesty he was nervous. Alcohol had never been in the house he'd been locked away in and he'd never really had an urge to try it until now.

He watched Luna as she uncapped her bottle and took a swig, she made a face before taking another mouthful.

Thinking he could do the same Boh choked up half the mouthful of vodka he'd swallowed.

It was neither smooth nor enjoyable and had half a mind to go back to the store and demand a refund.

"Take small sips and down it fast, the longer it sits in your mouth the more chance you have of spitting it out." At least with vodka the colder it was the less taste it had.

Taking Luna's advice Boh took as small sip and swallowed, he could still taste it or his mind perceived taste but it wasn't as intense as that first mouthful.

"So, how long have you been drinking why you can give good advice?" Up until meeting Luna Boh had entertained the idea of living life as a biker, he would travel around with just a bike, a bag of clothing and himself.

As soon as his feet had hit the highway however that dream had gone out the window and he realized just how difficult his 'adventuring' was going to be.

"Nine years, more or less on and off since my family left me." Luna shrugged as she took another swig from the bottle. The burn was only mild now, she had become accustomed to it over the years and often relished the feel of the tequila as it made it's way down her throat.

Boh should have expected an answer like that but was still surprised, it meant she'd more or less been drinking since the age of fifteen.

The more Boh drunk the fuzzier his world became, he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not but every time he tried to go and stand he'd fall right back on his ass and giggle like a girl.

Luna couldn't help the occasional groan, Boh was indeed a sheltered man...she still thought of him as a boy as he seemed far too immature and childish to be older than she.

It was while mulling things over that Luna suddenly had a bright idea.

"Hey Boh, how about I show you the ropes?" Luna had been so used to living alone and constantly on the move that she hadn't realized how much she missed having company. Aside from the monthly change and the guilt that usual came with those changes she missed laughing, she missed talking and most of all she missed having someone to listen to her complain.

"Yeh? We shhuure cen do et!" Boh slurred before he fell onto his back.

For a few moments Luna thought he'd blacked out, but the sigh and raise of the bottle in the air told her otherwise.

"Lewna? Why are you so mean to me?" He asked suddenly, the saddens in his voice surprised her and bit back the hard ass retort she was going to give.

"Because Boh, you look normal and I doubt you've killed anyone." The small grunt and light snore had a twisted smile forming on Luna's lips as she glanced over at Boh and it was then she realized they were sitting in the dark.

She had been so occupied with forgetting that she had forgot to do anything that she usually did when sleeping out.

But she was too tired so instead capped her bottle, capped Boh's bottle, lay down beside him and put the blanket over them both before trying to force herself to sleep.
