Chapter 14: Found, But Not Yet Saved
/Roman's p.o.v./
"Roman?! Roman?!" I heard a voice calling out to me faintly before getting louder. "Roman, wake up!"
I blinked my eyes open to see Patton hovering above me.
"Oh thank God." He smiled upon seeing me. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine..." I replied quietly. I sat up for, my floor slowly grabbing my sore head.
"What happened to you?" I notice Logan kneeling beside him.
"Depression did something..." I replied, before my eyes widened. "Virgil?!" I shot up to my feet.
"He's missing." Logan stopped me before leaving out the door. "I've done some research and I think I know where we can find him."
"Then what are we waiting for?" I asked. "Lets go."
"Wait." Logan said. "We know now how dangerous Depression is, we need to tread carefully."
"Oh trust me..." I gritted through my teeth, clutching my sword at my side. "I intend to tread carefully."
"Fine then I'll take us there, but I have to warn you that where we are going is full of nothing, but darkness and suffering..." Logan warned.
Me and Patton didn't even hesitate to follow him. The thought of saving Virgil was all we needed.

/Virgil's p.o.v./
Oh god...
I thought as I curled up on the cold hard floor.
Please help...
I felt my body shaking on it's own, I couldn't stand, I could hardly move. I couldn't cry out either. All I could do was lay there helplessly.
I was surrounded by darkness in a place I myself didn't even recognize. It filled me to the absolute brim with fright.
Oh god please!
SOMONE HELP ME!!!
My eyes shut, my body hurt, the only movement I could make was my shivering. Somebody please... if not me somebody has to help them, and help Thomas, before it's too late... My eyes remained closed like they wanted to stay that way forever.
Suddenly I heard voices... faint, but still present, and growing near.
"I don't care where Depression is, finding Virgil comes first." Roman's voice sounded.
I forced my eyes open at the sound of it. "Roman..."
"Virgil?!" Patton exclaimed as him, Roman, and Logan rounded the corner and ran up to me as my eyes closed again. "Oh my God, my son!" He kneeled down, pulling me into his arms and using his cardigan to cover me slightly as he felt my cold skin. I still felt weak it was hard to speak. "Wha-what's wrong with him?"
"Depression drained his power." Logan said in worry feeling my forehead. "Not yet completely, but he doesn't have much left, and it's still slowly leaving him."
"How do we stop it?" Roman asked in slight panic.
"By stopping Depression." Logan replied sounding angrier than I'd ever heard him before.
I coughed forcing my eyes open again.
"Virgil!" Patton smiled down at me. There were tears sitting in the corners of his eyes threatening to spill over.
"Virgil, I apologize greatly this would have never happened if it wasn't for me." Logan seemed to be trying to hold back his emotions as well, which was rare. "Im s-so sorry, b-but he took Patton and-"
"I know..." I trailed of weakly. "I know that now.... I understand, it's okay..."
Logan still looked away like he was guilty, but nodded like he accepted my forgiveness.
"Roman..?" I trailed off looking for him.
"Yes, Virgil I'm right here." He kneeled to my other side, taking my hand. He smiled at me and I watched as his eyes glasses over at the sight of me. He brushed my hair out of my face. "I'm here..."
"Roman... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have believed him.... when I saw you two... but I-" I was cut off.
"Hey hey..." he sushed me continuing to softly pet my hair back comfortingly. "What're you apologizing for you idiot..." The smile didn't leave his face, but the tears left his eyes. "Y-you didn't do anything w-wrong..."
"Don't cry... for me..." I managed enough strength to lift my hand and place it on the side of his face, leaning my forehead into his. We stayed that way for a few seconds. "Listen... Depression wasn't after just me... it was Thomas... you have to go help Thomas."
"I can't leave you." He told me.
"Please Roman..." I begged weakly. "You guys need to save him..."
"Fine...." he replied reluctantly. "If that's what you want."
"Patton stay here with Virgil and keep him warm." Logan ordered, I'll go with Roman to try and find a way to get rid of Depression, while he protects Thomas."
Patton nodded. "Alright."
Roman gave my hand a last squeeze before drying his tears and standing up. "Lets go." He started to walk away.
"Logan." Patton stopped him from following. "Please be careful..."
Logan smiled slightly leaning down and kissing Patton's forehead. "I will." He replied before leaving with Roman.
Patton turned back to me with a smile, hugging me close to keep me in his warmth. "E-everything's gonna be okay now Virg..."
"Patton..." I addressed him loosening the small amount of strength I had. "If I don't make it... I want you to know how much you guys mean to me... Roman already understands, but you and Logan don't. I love you guys, you're my best friend Patton..."
"S-stop it..." He whimpered as the tears broke free. "D-don't talk like that..." He hugged me tighter. "Y-you are going to make it." He sniffled as he continued to cry. "You have to..."
All I could do was close my eyes again.

/Roman's p.o.v./
"Did you find out how to stop him yet?" I asked as they were leaving to go to Thomas' world.
"Not yet." Logan replied sounding stressed as he carried his laptop as well as a bunch of books. At the same time.
"Well we don't have time, hurry." We appeared where Thomas was to see he'd been backed against a wall by none other than Depression, looking fearful. "Oi get the hell away from him!!!" I screamed approaching the scene and drawing my sword. I stepped between him and Thomas, and sliced through Depression, but it had no effect. A dark like substance just appeared where the wound should have been, and then regenerated into his body.
"Silly prince." He smirked. "You can't defeat me." He placed a hand on my shoulder and I went flying to the side, crashing painfully into some furniture and then the wall."
"Roman!" Thomas exclaimed in worry.
Depression turned back to him, but before he could do anything I charged at him trying to attack again.
He sent me flying in another direction. "Ugh." I grunted in pain taking longer to stand that time.
"I got it!" Logan exclaimed closing his laptop. "It's Thomas! Thomas can stop him!"
"Me?" Thomas asked sounding surprised.
"Yes!" Logan replied walking up to Thomas and making him look him in the face. "You're the only one Thomas, you are the only one with enough power to stop Depression."
"B-but how?" Thomas asked sounding nervous.
"You need to figure that out on your own." He replied. "All I know is that you are the only one who can stop him, and if you don't we are all going to die, starting with Virgil. It's your turn to protect us..."
"I-I understand..." Thomas trailed off turning to Depression.
"Ha! You can't defeat me!" He laughed maniacally. "No one can!"
Thomas walked up to him. "Stay away from me and my personality." He grabbed Depression's shoulder, causing the fiend to freeze where he stood. "You can't affect us anymore." Thomas then placed a hand to Depression's chest a light glowing from it.
Depression flinched in pain as he stared to crack and disintegrate around the light. He then smiled, a true smile... a calm smile. He fell onto Thomas as he lost his strength and continued to break away. "Finally..." he said tears of seemingly joy leaving his eyes. "Finally, I can die in peace..." Those were his last words before he completely faded away.
Thomas looked to his hand as the glowing stopped seeming surprised he'd actually done it.
Suddenly Patton appeared in the room still holding Virgil.
"Virgil!" I exclaimed not hesitating to run over to him.
Patton smiled handing him to me.
He already felt warmer, and some color returned to his skin. He then began to open his eyes slowly, looking to me. "Roman?"
"It's okay now it's all over." I smiled at him.
He looked confused and a little surprised, but then let a rare smile spread across his face. "He's gone?"
"Yes." I replied "and you're safe." I pulled him close. Before grabbing his face gently and kissing him.
He kissed back almost longingly, and we eventually pulled away happy to be together again.
"OMG OMG OMG!!!" Patton jumped up and down excitedly.
Thomas squealed a bit. "Oh my God Prinxiety!"
I laughed at the two of them, as Virgil just blushed.
Logan was smiling too as he walked up to put an arm around his excitable boyfriend. "I believe this is what all those fairytales refer to as a happy ending."
"Indeed it is." I smiled looking back at Virgil who hadn't let the small smile leave his face. We didn't even have to say anything, I could tell by the look in his eyes what we were telling each other.
I love you so much...
Hey guys, so this is the last official chapter, but I will be posting the epilogue at the same time. I am a cheese ball, so yeah that's the cliche ending. Make sure you read the next part though it's VERY important. (At least I think it is) vote and comment, bye!
