chapter 11

I'm going to change it up a bit now! This chapter will be Ian's point of view!!

                          **Ian**

When we walked into Josie's room I regretted letting Silus drag me along even more. As much resentment as I felt toward her, I still couldn't take my eyes off of her. I hated to admit that even to myself.

I tried not to stare as she turned to greet us with a smile. She seemed shocked to see me with Silus. He had spent the morning lecturing me about feeding on the fairies. This had to be my punishment.

He went on to lecture me on how Josie and I had alot in common. I wasn't exactly interested in bonding over the fact that her mother was the reason my parents were killed. Yet he insisted that I come and get to know her. She needed someone like me as a friend he had kept saying on the way over.

I watched as her beautiful chestnut waves danced around her face. She was chattering away with Silus but I couldn't even focus on what they were saying. Her turquoise eyes had me in a trance it seemed. Someone so small and beautiful couldn't be evil.

That's what they'd said about Anna Bennett too. I managed to keep my uninterested expression glued to my face as I studied her. For some reason she was the only person that had ever stirred anything inside me. There was a connection there that had nothing to do with our parents.

"You remember Ian." Silus smiled, glancing at me as if I was supposed to say something. I nodded in her direction before glancing at the bathroom door as it opened. The gothic fairy I had fed on yesterday glided out.

She shot a glare in my direction as she continued patting her hair with a towel. Since the headmaster was present she kept her comments to her self. I followed Silus and Josie out the door.

Students stared in wonder as we toured the school grounds. This time instead of all the looks being directed at me, they were at Josie. She seemed oblivious as she walked in sync with the headmaster. She seemed to hang onto his every word. I followed them in unhappy silence.

This place felt like a prison to me. It was hard to walk these halls every day knowing this was the place my parents died. That was one reason I wanted to be expelled so bad. My efforts hadn't been successful due to Silas's willingness to forgive so easy.

If Evelyn had been headmaster I would probably have been killed the night my parents were. When I walked down the vampire wings hallway every morning I relived my parents death over and over.

I was only three when it happened. I saw the whole thing. Just ask the witches were going to kill me Silus had stepped in. Sometimes I found myself wishing that he hadn't. He has raised me since that day. Strangely, he never felt like a father to me, more like an overprotective uncle actually.

Now at twenty one, you would think I could go anywhere I pleased. Instead here I am in the place that has became my prison. The most ironic part of it all was the only thing that has intrigued me here is the daughter of the dark witch.

"That over there is the blood storage facility. If you do find yourself craving blood you can go place an order to be sent to your room." Silus was explaining to the gorgeous creature I despised.

"So do you not feed on humans anymore?" She asked. My heart almost melted at the innocence in her expression. I quickly reminded myself that she was the enemy.

"We can but while you're a student here theres not much time for coming and going. We have blood banks that deliver here regularly." He explained as they walked on to the next place.

"Are you a first year, Ian?" She asked. It shocked my to hear her say my name. This was the first time she had spoken directly to me.

"I've been a first year for the past six years," I smirked pulling out a pack of cigarettes. Silus rolled his eyes at me. Josie glanced back at him in confusion.

"What hes trying to say is he never completes his courses. You actually have to show up to class in order to do that." Silus explained glancing at me in annoyance. I could tell Josie didnt like the smell of my cigarette. I watched her wrinkle her pretty little nose in disgust.

A few fairies passed us as we stood out side the castle. They gave me a lingering glance before heading into the school. I'd never been attracted to the bubbly little things but their blood made me feel good. It was a high like no other. It was the only thing that made me forget about my parents for a little while.

I followed Silus and Josie for the rest of their tour. When we finally dropped her back off to her room I was relieved. I was just about to head to my dorm when Silus stopped me.

"She is special, Ian. I know you enjoy screwing everything in your life up but break that tradition when it comes to her." was all he said before he disappeared into his office.
