Tomoko grabbed Raze' arm. Cold wind was howling around them when Wing was flying in a pretty high speed. The slaps of his mighty wings echoed through the air. "We're almost there!" Eaden shouted. Smoke was curling up in the air. "Whew! Nearly the whole city is burning!" Tomoko shouted when she was looking down. "I hope we're not too late." Eaden said. "An inferno like this... No ordinary monster can cause it.", "What do you mean with that?" Tomoko asked. "I think... No, I'm sure it must be a Summoner Spirit!" Eaden replied. "Faster, Wing!" Wing screamed and shot down in a nosedive. Tomoko nearly fell off him. "Uah!"
Wing landed in front of the city. Eaden jumped down and ran straight towards it, with her Katana in the scabbard at her belt. Policemen were standing in front of the village. When they saw her, they stopped her. "Hey, stop! It's too dangerous!" Eaden showed them her guild mark. "We're from Dark Rose. We are allowed to pass." She said. "Oh, sorry for stopping you." The policemen stepped aside. "Well then, fulfil your mission. That thing, raging here, is very powerful.", "I'm aware of that." Eaden looked around to Raze and Tomoko. "Come on, you guys! We have to hurry!" Raze jumped to the ground. "We're coming!" She looked at Tomoko. "Hurry!", "Eh..." Tomoko looked down to the ground. Then she closed her eyes and jumped. She landed a bit hard, but then she ran to Eaden. "This Summoner Spirit... I have a guess who it could be." Together they entered the village. Eaden ran in front, followed by Raze and Tomoko. Wing vanished. "I know you're here, spirit! Reveal yourself!" Eaden shouted. She suddenly stopped running and looked around. "Where are you?!", "Hehee..." A voice came out of the flames. "You dare to come here, stupid kid?" Eaden turned around to the direction the voice came from. Something rose from the flames- a fairy?! The thing had orange feathered wings. Her hair seemed to be on fire. Her skin was golden and she had red, glowing eyes. "You're Fiery! The Flame Element Fairy!" Eaden shouted. "Awww.... At least someone who knows me." She landed on the ground. "I'm the master of hellfire. You challenged me... So don't blame me when I turn you to ash!" Eaden took her Katana out of her scabbard. "I won't let you! You just can't destroy a whole city just for your joy!" Fiery looked at her with a spiteful smile in her face. "So, you want to fight back? Let's see how long you can stand my fire!" She generated a fire ball in front of her and fired it on Eaden. "Shadow Cutter!" Eaden shouted. She brandished her sword and a black blade of darkness flew through the air and cut the flame ball into two pieces. "Shadow Magic, hm? Do you know, that that was Black Magic?", "I'm aware of it, Fiery!" Eaden shouted. "Now take this! Shadow Thunder!" She stabbed her sword in the ground. Shadow lightning was shooting on Fiery, but she dodged by flying into the air. "You missed." She said. Eaden looked up. "Grrr.", "I'm gonna cool you down, Fire Breather!" Raze shouted. "Ice Dragon's Roar!" She shot a beam with snow and ice shards on the fire fairy that was consumed by the blizzard. But then, she broke free by using her ultimate heat flames. "Did you really think you could get me with this, while ice has a great disadvantage against fire?!" Fiery asked. Raze gritted her teeth. "Just wait..." Tomoko stared at Fiery. Then, her hands moved automatically. She put the palm of her left hand on her right fist. "Gemstone Make- Sapphire Style: Lance!" Blue lances made of gemstone flew towards Fiery and pierced her. "HUH?" Fiery looked down to the points where the lances had stabbed through her. "Y-you're kidding me?!", "Nice done, Tomoko!" Raze shouted. "You've got her!" Eaden brandished her sword again and shot another shadow blade on Fiery. The fairy was barely able to lift her hand, but she created a flame column that consumed the shadow blade. Then, suddenly, she gave off burning heat. Tomoko's Sapphire Lances started to melt. "Damn!" Raze cursed. When the Lances had turned into mud, flames where surrounding Fiery's wounds. When they vanished, they were gone. "She has self- healing powers?!" Eaden cramped her hand. "I should have known it won't be so easy to fight Fiery... Elementary Spirits are quite lively and not easy to beat down. Raze, remember when we fought Windy? You were able to weaken her by freezing the air.", "Yeah, but I'm in a disadvantage here!" Raze reminded her. "You don't have to remind me, I know that. But every Elementary Spirit has its weakness. Tomoko, Raze, give me some backing, I'll look what is written in my book about her.", "We will." Raze and Tomoko stepped in front of Eaden. "Ice Dragon's Wing Attack!" Raze unleashed another ice blizzard from her arms, but Fiery surrounded herself with fire, so it didn't damaged her even a little. "You don't wanna learn, do ya?" Fiery attacked with a fire shockwave. Tomoko jumped in front of Raze. "Gemstone Make- Ruby Style: Shield!" A ruby shield appeared in front of her and blocked the flames. "Amazing, Tomo!" Raze said. Suddenly, the ground was covered by little, red crystals. "Damn, it happens again!" Tomoko suddenly had a cramp in her hand and sunk on her knees. "What's with you? What's wrong?" Raze asked. "Urgh... That happens sometimes when I use my magic. I said, I can't fully control it yet..." She gritted her teeth from pain. But she managed to stand up and attack again. "Gemstone Make- Sapphire Style: Thorn Cannon!" Spikes made of Sapphire appeared in front of her. Tomoko stretched out her arm and the thorns flew towards Fiery. This time, she wasn't able to dodge. Some of the spikes pierced her arms and shoulder. "RAAAAAR!" Fiery screamed. "Argh!" Tomoko crashed. Raze took her shoulder. "Don't push yourself too hard! You'll faint!" Tomoko's body shrugged. "But I... don't want to be a hindrance on my first job...!" She hit the ground with her fist. A sapphire layer started to cover the ground. "Hey now, don't cry." Raze turned Tomoko's face to her. "Your spells are powerful. It's almost like ice, you know, but yours are more effective on Fiery, kid." Fiery started to melt the Sapphire spikes. "Let's strike her down together, okay?", "What?" Raze took Tomoko's hand. "I'll give you some of my magical power, so you have enough power to handle your spells. Fire another Spike Storm on Fiery while she's restoring, okay? Trust me." Tomoko nodded. "Brave girl." Raze put a hand on Tomoko's head. "Not everything goes well from the very beginning, you sometimes need some help to be able to master things. So let me help you and attack together." Tomoko nodded with a smile. "Thank you, Raze..." Raze' hand was surrounded by an ice cold aura. Tomoko felt that it floated into her. "Stay focused, Tomoko Kasai. Your surname, Kasai, means fire. Be as untameable as fire!", "What?", "Burn the flame in your heart. Open yourself and let your magical power flow through you.
