Chapter 10

When Raze returned with the food, Tomoko started to eat. She hadn't noticed yet that she was very hungry. "You act like you haven't eaten something for weeks." Raze said with a bride smile on her face. "Hm... I'm feeling that way." Tomoko laughed.
But then, they were interrupted by a voice. "Okay, enough!" Everyone in the guild hall looked up. Guildmaster Homura was standing at the banister at the second floor. Her hair was dark blue. "Eaden told me that Shiver Dragon is not stopping the attacks on our city!" She seemed to be in rage. "Do they think that it were just empty words?! That I'm destroying Shiver Dragon if they don't stop?! Then, these idiots of a dark guild don't know me! Members of Dark Rose..." She spread her arms. "We're protecting Nohana! That means, we have to eliminate the Shiver Dragon Guild! Immidiatly!" Raze and Tomoko quickly exchanged a look. Homura came down the stairs and put her hands on her hips. "Are you following me in this attack?" She asked. Everyone in the guild hall knodded. "Cool! We can finally blow up Shiver Dragon!" Ichiro said. "Nicely!!!", "I'm with ya!" Silver appeared next to him. "I'll knock them down and kick their asses!", "And I will crush their guild building." Ichiro said. "Well... These guys are fired up." Annika said. "Who could blame them for that?" Iona asked. She made her hand to a fist. "They're going to wish that they never would had messed with us.", "Master." Alena looked at Homura and put a hand on Tomoko's shoulder. Tomoko hadn't noticed that the blonde haired mage was standing next to her.  "Isn't it too dangerous for Tomoko to participate in such an attack? I mean, she still can't fully control her magic and..." She interrupted herself and looked at Tomoko. "Don't take that personally, but you would rather be in our way than a help." Raze stepped in front of Tomoko and glared at Alena with her ice blue eyes. "Hey, listen! Tomoko might not be capable to control her magic in the way it is safe, but after all, she's my team mate and I won't leave without her, understood?" Alena wanted to reply, but Homura interrupted them. "Enough, Raze." She jumped down from the second floor and landed in the middle of the guild hall. "Alena is right. Tomoko can't come along with us yet. It's too dangerous for her and I'm responsible for her health. I'm sorry, Tomoko, but it's just for your best." Tomoko nodded resigned. "Wait a second!" Raze turned around to Homura. "We have to prepare this attack, haven't we? So, why aren't you leaving that to us and use the time to train Tomoko instead? Weren't you going to train Tomoko today, anyway?", "You're stubborn." Homura said. "Master Homura..." Tomoko started. "I know, it's dangerous, but when you're attacking that dark guild, some of our members will be injured. And we aren't that much people in here too, so... I'd like to come with you all. To support you." Homura looked at her, but she said nothing. "I'm begging you, master. Am I not a member of this guild too? I haven't joined for being left behind when it's going to be dangerous, I have joined to learn how to use my magic right. When I'm capable to use my magic the way I should, I want to help you all!" Homura seemed to think about something. "Controlling your magic is nothing you learn from the one moment to another. You need time to do so. And we don't have time.", "Please..." Tomoko looked at Raze, then at Alena and than at Raze again, hoping, one of them would help her to persuade Homura. But no one of them said anything. Homura sighed. "Alright, then. I'll tell you what to do and give you a try, but don't put your hopes to high. Raze, Alena, you two are going to prepare the attack. Get together all material that could be helpfull. Tell Eaden about that too, when she's returning. Ichiro, Iona, you get together all the members that are on some missions. Order them to return here, okay? Soul, Silver, you two are going to search for information about Shiver Dragon. We need every detail we can gather to work out a tactic. Ichiro, you're supporting Annika with making a plan. Everyone aware of their tasks?" Everyone nodded. "Alright. The ones who don't have something to do yet, you go to Nohana and try to prevent other members of Shiver Dragon to come here until we're finished."
Homura took out Tomoko on the training field. She looked serious, but she tried to act loosely. "Okay. You have to do, what I tell you. We can't risc any accidents to happen, understood?", "Yeah, master." Homura nodded satisfied. "Good. Okay, sit down. You have to meditate.", "Meditate? I've never done that before.", "It's easy. Just sit down cross-legged, close your eyes and breathe in deeply." Tomoko nodded and followed these orders. "To be aware of your magic, you have to know what it's made of. The source of your magic power is the so called "Ethernano". That are particles that are dwelled all over the atmosphere and in every living creature. Wizards have a "container" inside of them that determinates the limit of that magic power. If it becomes empty, it's automatically filled up by Ethernano again and after a while, the magic power is restored. However, living organisms cannot live in areas of extremely concentrated Ethernano, as it apparently has detrimental effects upon the structure of the body." Homura explained. "When the magic power cannot be controlled by the wizard it belongs to, it can have multible reasons. In your case, you're using too much of your power for one spell. So it's unbelievably strong, but it also drains the power out of you. If you put more magic power inside of a spell then you need, it might have additional effects that turn out to be extremely negative. What you can do about it is following: First, you have to drag Ethernano from the atmosphere around you into your body. Meditation is the easiest way to do so. Okay, concentrate. Breathe in deeply and imagine you're draining Ethernano from the air." Tomoko nodded, breathed in deeply and tried to imagine what Homura told her. But it was harder than it sounded, because she wasn' able to hold that imagination upstraight for a long time.
