Chapter 6. (The book.) Part 2.

Xavier.

I stopped around the corner of the wall so I could hear what Jason was saying. I wanted to say it didn't matter, but I already heard footsteps so I quickly walked away. I walked through the long hallways and was fast. I waited at Jason's bedroom door, crossing my arms as I leaned against the wall. 'Jason! You didn't have to do that. I can handle myself.' He looked at me confused. "But you kw-" "I came to you so I could bring something, not because I needed help. I left because I disturbed you while you were with that girlfriend of yours. I don't care.' That was a lie, I really wanted to be with him and there was a hole in my heart that only he could fill. just leave me alone. I don't need you and you don't need me. Get that into your head.' I immediately regretted what I said, but I didn't show it and I walked away. I didn't need his help, not ever.

Jason.

I was shocked by his fierce voice and what he said. I looked at him hurt. He stands in front of my door and with all my powers of control I ask: "Can I pass?" Xavier steps aside and I go in and close the door. As soon as the door was firmly locked, I burst into tears. I do so much for him, so much, and yet he keeps suffocating me. Feeling abandoned, I curled up in bed and fell asleep.

The next morning I put on a T-shirt with "Don't talk to me" on it, jeans and a hoodie. I stood in front of the mirror, straightened my back, ran a hand through my hair and pretended nothing had happened. I walked to the dining room and sat at a table alone and ate my food in silence, when I got up I bumped into Xavier and I completely ignored him, his comeuppance.

Xavier.

I walked past Jason into the room and didn't say anything. People looked at me fiercely, but I looked back just as fiercely and forced a grin onto my face. If they wanted to be afraid of me, I would show them how scary I could be. They could try whatever they wanted but I wouldn't break. I walked over to an empty table and sat down, I took some of the bread and spread butter on it and put a slice of ham on it. I quickly stuffed the sandwich in my mouth and drank a glass of orange before getting up and walking away. I walked towards the large garden and because it was early in the morning, it was still empty. I stood in the middle of the garden. And opened my hand, out of my hand flew a flame, and I forced the fire to listen to me, and it became a sword. I started training, a side stroke, a stab and then a block. I needed to learn to control my powers and this was the perfect place to learn it. The grass scorched under the heat of my sword as I made it even hotter and the fire turned blue. I laughed and parried in circles while making the sword move.

Jason.

I walked to the training fields, and to take out my anger I took up archery. I walked past all the targets and shot all the arrows perfectly, but it soon got boring and I walked to another training field, with all the dolls where you can improve your fighting techniques. I had weakened in my condition and started working straight away, it was tough and tiring, but it felt good. I did this all morning and walked back sweaty and tired. I had taken off my hoodie and now I also took off my T-shirt. There were many people outside enjoying the sun, and clearly visible, including me. I jumped into the lake and did a few laps. When I looked to the side again I saw Nomi standing there and I let myself go up and the water formed a staircase that I walked down and I ended up right with her. "Was that necessary for something?" Nomi asked, laughing. I nodded very seriously and had to hold back my laughter as I let a large amount of water collect over her head. People laughed and I dropped the water. 'Sorry Nomi, with me you can't avoid the water. Are you coming in?' I winked and Nomi laughed and pushed me into the water. Because I can breathe underwater, I stayed there and sure enough, a moment later she dived into the water to bring me up. We came up laughing. And I saw Xavier standing there, he was all sweaty and he looked pale. He looked at me and Nomi with disgust. And suddenly out of nowhere a fireball flew towards Nomi, I pushed her underwater and made sure she could breathe underwater and signaled her to stay there. I let myself be pushed up and I jumped out of the water at his feet. I poured water over his head and said, 'Are you completely crazy?! Just cool down.' He was apparently so angry and he punched me, I saw it coming and I fought him off, it soon became a fight, and I knocked him to the ground. I held him so he couldn't hurt anyone and stayed that way until he calmed down. "Please be normal for once." I snapped at him and let him go. "If you keep doing this, I'll have to send you away from here, you can't be trusted anymore, don't let it get to that point." He ran away and I let Nomi come upstairs. I had a few bruises and a big cut on my cheek. I sent Nomi to the hospital ward to get over the shock. Desi ran up to me and asked me if she could talk to Xavier. I nodded and I went to bed, I was dirty, sweaty and injured, but I still got into bed and fell asleep almost immediately.

Xavier.

Jason threw me to the ground and I held his arms tightly as my hands grew hot. Jason said something but I didn't let it get in, he got off me and I shot a flame right in his face that probably scorched a few hairs. stay away from me. Damn it.' I shouted at him and walked away. I heard a soft hopping sound behind me as I turned into a hallway on the way to the dormitory, I quickly turned around and the child now standing in front of me backed away in shock. I blinked, my vision was blurry and I couldn't see who it was. But after a few seconds the image sharpened and I looked at Desi, who was standing in front of me, her hair tied in two braids, I sighed and looked down at her. "Are you okay Xavier?" the girl asked and I nodded. I was sweaty and soaking wet, with a bloody nose. So I probably looked miserable and even a child could see that. I wiped away the blood and crouched down so I was at her level. "Of course I'm fine!" I laughed and ran a hand through her hair. I couldn't stand how worried she seemed. are you sure? You seemed just as angry.. It was.. scary.' I nodded and picked her up and tapped her nose with a finger. My body struggled but I kept laughing, I wanted to cheer her up. "I swear to my Pinky that I'm not angry." I gave her a smile and she held out her Pinky which I shook with my Pinky. 'Pinky promise.'

Jason.

When I woke up I took a shower and had the cut on my wound treated. I put on something clean and went to eat something. I was tired and exhausted. I ate in silence and when I was done I went outside. I was very tense and I walked into the forest. I was shaking all over, and I felt weak. In the forest it was dark and I stumbled to a small river deep in the forest, I walked, sat in the water and the water was up to my knees. I crossed my arms over my knees and stayed that way. Suddenly I felt nothing anymore and saw blackness before my eyes. and I sank into the water and sank down.

Xavier.

I had been awake for a while but I stayed in the dorm. A shiver went down my spine and my eyes went black for a moment. I felt like something was wrong. I looked around, I was all alone until Desi came running into my room and laughed. I waved and saw the red lipstick everywhere. "Look how beautiful I am!" She turned in a circle and her dress turned along with it. "You really are a princess Des." I smiled and got out of bed. My legs struggled violently, but I forced myself to walk towards her. 'Do you want to go to the forest? Then I can show you all kinds of fun tricks.' She nodded enthusiastically and grabbed my hand. I started walking and left the house. I hadn't seen the phoenix in a while. Normally it was always nearby. I tried not to worry, it was a damn phoenix. He really could take care of himself. I nodded to myself and I walked into the woods. I stopped next to a small lake. "Do you want to see something cool?" The girl almost screamed with excitement. "Okay.. Okay, take a step back." And she did. I raised my hands to heaven and a gust of flame flew out, the flames were not hot and you could touch them. I made the flames swirl around Desi and I made them look like stars. With all different colors. Desi laughed and my arms followed the movements of the flames. "It's so beautiful!!!!!" She seemed happy and that cheered me up.

I felt freezing again and the flames started to falter, I fell to the ground and my vision was blurry. I heard a loud crowing. Jason! He needed me, I looked at the water, I knew he was there. I took off my shirt and dove into the water. I held my breath and looked around, the current became stronger but I saw him at the bottom. I swam towards him even though he subconsciously tried to stop me. I grabbed his arms and pulled him up. My head surfaced and I gasped. I threw him on the edge of the river and climbed out. "Desi can you go back and get a doctor?" She nodded quickly and ran away. I got down on my knees next to Jason and warmed my hands so that it became a kind of heater. I held them over Jason and waited for help to arrive. I felt Jason's pulse and felt the heart rate slowing. I put my hands on his chest and started pressing up and down. 1.. 2.. 3.. And I took a deep breath and gave him mouth to mouth and so it went on until I heard people screaming behind me and I was pushed aside by a doctor but I didn't move away and stayed seated while I was eating Jason's held hands. "I'll stay." I said in a stern tone and the doctor nodded. People looked on in horror and I heard murmuring. I swear if they thought this was me... it doesn't matter. I continued to hold him as he was helped. All that mattered was that he was alive.

I put my pen and paper away for a bit, chapter 6 was finished. I looked at Julien who looked up to me. 'Can I ask you a question?' I nodded and Julien breathed deeply. 'How did we get from England to America?' I could slap myself in the face for not realizing that, but I know I did it myself, so I had to be honest. I sighed and looked at Julien. 'You know this book I am writing? It's...It's not just a book, I didn't make it up.' I tell Julien. He frowns. 'You mean that what you wrote and write, that it's true? Every detail?' He asks. I nod. 'So that's how we came here? Because you rule over the earth? But how do you know those people out of your book?' I smile. 'No, not exactly, and I am writing it all down so we will come to that.' I answer. 'But how does that work? If you don't rule over the earth and you still did get me here with the help of the earth.' I laugh. 'I don't rule over the earth at first, I can influence it, and I don't know exactly what it is, but I think I am the only one gifted with this gift. I can like you say "rule" over all the elements. I get dreams sometimes, weird dreams, about the past, or future and I always have to do something with or against it. I am so weird.' I tell Julien and his eyes lit up. 'Can you show me? You are not weird, that's freaking cool!' Julien says, but I sight. 'It's not cool, it's a curse. I have killed people, like you said, every detail of the story is true. I am really fourteen now, but I am immortal, unless I give my gift away when I die, I haven't died yet, so I really am fourteen, but it's scary to think about.' Julien looks a bit shocked. I rub the dimple just above my ear and look down at my feet.  'Well, what are we going to do now?' Julien asks. 'There will be no we. I'll drop you somewhere safe and I'll go traveling again.' I say. Julien jumps up from the bed. 'You can't do that! I just lost my family and you're the only one I know! You can't just leave me in this crazy new world full of scary creatures and powers!' He yells and I look at him pitiful. 'I'm sorry, but  I am not able to protect you. I am a kid myself. I can't bring anyone in danger. I am sorry, but I warned you that I shouldn't stay at your house.' I say. Julien looks at me. 'This is exactly the reason why I tried to kill myself.' His eyes are full of hate and I look at him. I break my Plaster of Paris around my used to be broken arm. It's healed already, it's just white like an sheet. I throw the plaster away and look at Julien. 'I have to finish my story, or, at least finish until I already know what happened, for now I am not going to leave you. But you have to listen to me, and trust me.' I say. Julien nods and he sits ready. 'Do you get crazy if you're not able to get out of somewhere for a long time?' I ask. Julien frowns. 'It'll be difficult, but I don't think I will go crazy.' I nod. 'We will go live under the ground for a while, so I can write my story in peace and after that I will decide what to do.' Julien nods and I start packing our stuff and when I am done I take Julien's hand and we are swallowed by the earth. There are rooms under the ground and I am taking care of enough oxygen. I have beds and food and much space, I lay down on my bed. 'Go to sleep Julien, we have work to do tomorrow.' Julien nods and lays down in his bed too. I fall asleep fast.

Wow. It's going so fast right now, my head is so full right now of how the story goes and how I'll work it out it's getting a bit much. I love this, I am so excited to finish this and write more! I am so excited!
