Chapter 6

After walking for about twenty minutes, she came to a large house that had a gate running along the whole property. There were royal guards stationed outside of the gate entrance. This must be the place, she thought.

She walked up to the gate and towards the guards. As much as she wanted to just kill them, she knew she couldn't. It would raise alarm. Instead she would have to resort to mind tricks.

"Halt. What business do you have here?" One of the guards said.

"You will let me pass, and then forget I was ever here," she said waving her hand in front of their faces.

"I will let you pass, and then forget you were ever here," the guard recited. He opened the gate and let Ahsoka pass. She walked up the pathway that led to the door. She contemplated just barging in, but thought better than to do that, again, it would raise alarm. She knocked and waited for an answer.

After a few seconds, the door opened to reveal an older gentleman with grey hair, dressed in a black suit.

"How may I help you little lady?" He asked Ahsoka.

"I'm here to see senator Bonteri."

"I'm sorry, but he's not taking visitors at the moment." He tried to close the door, but Ahsoka stuck her foot in to stop it.

"Wait!" She said. "I'm an old friend of Lux's. I thought he was dead and I just want to catch up with him, and then I'll be on my way." She looked up at him with her big blue pleading eyes. He contemplated for a second before relenting.

"Alright you may come in," he said opening the door and motioning for her to enter. "Senator Bonteri is in his office. It's just up those stairs." He pointed towards a staircase directly across from the door.

"Thank you sir," Ahsoka said bowing to him before heading up the stairs. Upon reaching the large double doors of the office, she knocked. Excitement was building up inside of her. She was about to get rid of the last piece of her past, the last part of the old Ahsoka Tano would be gone after tonight, and she could finally become the Sith she so desperately wanted to be. She would finally be able to please her master. She would thoroughly enjoy killing Lux Bonteri.

She heard the shuffle of papers, and a muffled voice "Come in Garçon!" She stifled a laugh. He must've thought she was his butler. Pushing the door open with a creek, she saw him standing there, facing away from her talking to someone on a holorecorder. From what she could tell, he had grown significantly. For starters, his brown hair was much longer, almost down to his shoulders, and was slicked back. He also looked taller and more well built.

"Alright Senator. Sounds good. I will talk to you more later," he said ending the call. He started to turn around. "Now what is it Gar-" he stopped as he saw Ahsoka standing there. His jaw just hanging in disbelief at what he saw in front of him. "How... wha-... what're-" he stuttered. He couldn't believe she was here. He had thought she had perished with the rest of the Jedi during Order 66. He had mourned for her endlessly, but now here she was, standing right in front of him in the flesh. She visibly looked older, she was taller and her Lekku and facial markings were longer, but she was still the same Ahsoka he knew. He got lost in her crystal blue eyes, and had to pinch himself to made sure he wasn't dreaming.

There was an awkward silence between the two as they both processed what they were seeing. Ahsoka was studying him from the front now. Not only was he taller and more well built, but he looked older overall. He's even more stunning then when I last saw him, Ahsoka thought. Wait what??? She shook her head, trying to rid herself of the thought, but memories of her and Lux flooded to her. Their first meeting on Raxus, the time the spent on Carlac... the kiss, the rebellion here on Onderon. Then only for a moment, she wanted to change her mind, 'cause this just didn't feel right to her. No, she thought, I'm not that person anymore, he means nothing to me, and he will die tonight by my hand!

Finally, Lux was able to compose himself and speak, "Ahsoka... what're you doing here? I-I thought you were dead! I mourned your death for years! It took me so long to get over it, hell I'm not sure I ever got over it, and you've been alive this whole time? How come you never called or came to visit?" Lux said angrily.

A part of Ahsoka deep down broke when he said this. Had he really missed her that much? She never knew she meant that much to him. Of course she knew they were very close, but she knew he loved Steela, and after what had happened, she thought he hated her. She pushed the thoughts from her mind. Those were the memories and thoughts of a person long gone, Lux was now nothing more than another person she was meant to kill.

She returned to the present moment and saw that he was just looking at her, waiting for an answer. Now she had come up with a believable lie.

"I was..." Come on Ahsoka think! "I was hiding from the Empire! They've been hunting down the surviving Jedi and killing them. I couldn't risk contacting you or anyone for that matter. I've lived in secrecy for the last five years." He seemed to accept that answer, but she knew what his next question was going to be, so she began to formulate another lie.

"But why now? Why come back now?"

Ahsoka couldn't think of a lie. She was stuck. She knew he would ask that, and she had dug herself a hole she couldn't get out of. Of course she couldn't tell him the real reason, could she? She was going to kill him anyways, why not just do it now? It would save herself some time and words.

Lux stood there impatiently tapping his foot, waiting for an answer. "So?" he asked.

Ahsoka thought for one last moment about a lie, but came up with nothing. "Ah screw it," she said grabbing her sabers out of her satchel and activating them, their crimson glow reflection off her orange skin. She smiled mischievously at the young senator. All color drained from Lux's face, and he looked at her in horror.

"A-Ahsoka? What're... what're you doing?" he stammered.

"Well, isn't it obvious? I'm here to kill you Mr. Senator," she spat, her smile growing.

"But-but why? What's happened to you?"

Her smile faded for a second. "The old me was weak, so I got rid of her, she's gone, dead. Now I am all that remains, her true power, her destiny. Soon I will rule the galaxy alongside my master!"

"No... NO! I won't believe that! I know that there's still good in you Ahsoka! Come back to me, please!" Lux pleaded.

"Face it Lux, the girl you knew is gone, and she is never coming back," she paused. "Now let's just get this over with quick. My master is expecting me back soon, and I don't like to keep him waiting." The mischievous smile returned, and she started to walk towards him, twirling her light sabers in her hands.

He cowered behin his desk. "Ahsoka you don't have to do this! I know this is not what you want! What happened to the Ahsoka I met on Raxus, or Carlac, or Onderon? What happened to the upbeat, happy, snippy togruta I knew? What happened to the Ahsoka that I... love."

At the last part, Ahsoka froze, her wicked smile disappearing. She was still gripping on tightly to her sabers. Did he just say that he... loves me? Ahsoka thought. No, no he's just saying that so you won't kill him. Kill him and fulfill your destiny, a voice inside her head said, but her feet still would not move.

Lux could see Ahsoka's face soften and see the turmoil grow, and knew he had started to chip away at the darkness that enslaved her, so he continued. "Ahsoka," he said softly, "this is not you. You've been manipulated by the dark side, by the Sith. I can help you become what you were supposed to be, what you're destined to be: a beacon of light for all. A person who can stand up to the Empire, who can end this tyranny."

He was now standing almost directly in front of her. He sighed. "I just... I just want the old Ahsoka back. The one that I... love. Yes, there I said it. I love you Ahsoka Tano. Always have, always will. Since the day we met on Raxus, I knew you were the one for me. I regret never telling you before, but your status as a Jedi prevented it. Now, there's nothing stopping me from doing this," and then he did something that surprised both of them: he kissed her. All his pain, sadness, love came out in the kiss.

For a moment Ahsoka was stunned. She didn't know what to do. Her heart was telling her that this was right, to kiss back, give into her feelings for him. What he said was true, and she wanted to come back to the light, to Lux. However, her mind was telling her to kill him and finally become the true Sith she wanted to be, she was destined to be.

Ahsoka felt all of Lux's emotions as he kissed her. She felt his pain when he heard about Order 66, the helplessness he felt when he found out that she had likely perished, his sorrow as he mourned her death for years, and finally his love for her. A love that had never wavered in the seven years since they had been apart.

Finally, she gave in, dropping her sabers to the ground, and returning the kiss. She ran her hands through his long brown hair as she deepened the kiss. Tears of sadness and of joy began to stream down her cheeks. She regretted everything she had done the last five years, and was ready to make it right.

They parted from the kiss and Ahsoka smiled. Seeing this, Lux smiled back. "Now that's the Ahsoka I know."

He pulled her into a hug. "Lux... I'm so so sorry... I-I almost killed you!" She said sobbing into his shirt.

"Shhhh... shhhh. It's okay Ahsoka. What matters is that you're back. The real you."

She looked up into his grey eyes. "But Lux I've done so many bad things, killed so many innocent people. I can never forgive myself for that," she said looking back down, letting more tears flow.

Lux grabbed her chin and pulled her face up to look at him and wiped away the tears on her face. He stared deep into her crystal blue eyes and saw the regret and sadness in them. "I forgive you..." he whispered softly.

Ahsoka smiled, and Lux brought her in for another kiss. They parted and stayed in a hugging position. Ahsoka felt so safe in his arms, she never wanted to leave them.

A weight had been lifted off her shoulders. The light was back within Ahsoka Tano, and it felt good.
