it has been three days since the elite had said their farewells to their families, and the royal family had been hidden away during that time. however, after sending out invitations for a ball, inviting the press and other well known names, the entire family, aside from princess carmen, gathered at the stage where the band was setting up. prince kason moved forward to say that there would be an announcement that evening, one that he would like recorded and broadcasted live. "it isn't news that the country is going to want to miss," he'd claimed before stepping back. his mother and father had both given him assuring nods before linking arms and disappearing into the crowd.

— astrid cane, who had become a semi-permanent resident at the palace will not be at the event.

— the entire family is aware that kason found a sure-fire way to break the curse. however, each of them has been too happy to question what it will entail.

— princess brielle was actually allowed to the party, but will be staying out in the furthest parts of the garden.

— there was a crimson storm the night after the selected families left, but it only last for a night.
