The bell for lunch rang and I gathered my books slipping them into my book bag. I got up and left my third block. I bumped into someone.

Me: Sorry.

I looked up and saw Niyah.

Niyah: It's cool.

We walked to the cafeteria together.

Niyah: So London.

Me: Yes Niyah?

Niyah: I'm so gonna make that shot.

Me: You keep thinking that.

Niyah: I don't care if I gotta trip you , I'm making that shot.

I pouted making her laugh.

Me: You'd really trip me in a game against the Falcons to make a shot?

Niyah: Hm. Nah. Just in practice.

I laughed and playfully hit her.

Me: Your very mean. You know that?

Niyah: I've been told by this 5'1 kid.

Me: Shut up. Your only 2 inches taller than me.

Niyah: So? That's still taller.

Me: Hmph.

She laughed.

Niyah: You'll get over it.

We went inside the cafeteria.

Me: I suppose so , but you better not trip me.

Niyah: I'll think about it.

Me: Your such an ass.

She laughed and looked down at me.

Niyah: Oh , I know.

It was our turn to order.

Lunch Lady: What would you like sweetie.

Me: May I have the teriyaki chicken over the rice , corn and apples.

Lunch Lady: There you go sweetheart.

I took the plate from her hands.

Me: Thank you.

Lunch Lady: Your welcome.

I went to the table with Niyah following me. I sat down beside of the seat that Zoe usually sits in and Kodie was on the other side.

Kodie: Where's Zoe?

Me: She might have stopped by a teacher.

Kodie: Oh.

Takiyah sat down with Maya.

Takiyah: Hey guys.

Me: Hey Takiyah.

The doors opened and Zoe came in.

Me: There she is now.

I started to eat my chicken. She got in the line. Katrina came up to the table with Alayna.

Katrina: Hey babe.

Kodie: Sup.

Katrina: So I heard you was performing in the park this Saturday.

Kodie: Yeah , and?

Katrina: Can I come?

Kodie: If you want. I'm not stopping you. It's a public park.

Katrina: Good. I'm gonna wear my s-

Niyah: Katrina , nobody gives a damn what your wearing.

She scoffed.

Alayna: Here London. I want to stop the beef between us. So I got you a soda.

She handed it to me. I slowly took it from her hands.

Me: Thanks.

I fake smiled and stood up. I walked over to her and opened it , pointing it right at her. It exploded everywhere all over her.

Me: Seriously? How childish are you?

I scoffed and slipped the can in her pocket. I sat back down.

Me: Fucking idiot.

Zoe came and dumped her milk on Alayna.

Zoe: I don't drink it. They gave me the wrong kind.

She came down and took Kodie's Orange.

Kodie: What if I was gonna eat that.

Zoe: Were you?

Kodie: Nope.

Zoe only laughed and started eating the chicken.

Maya: Hey Zoe.

Zoe: Hey Maya and Takiyah.

Niyah whispered in my ear.

Niyah: I think they'd make a cute couple.

I nodded.

Me: Me too.

Niyah: Of course.

I laughed.

Katrina: Kodie , we're gonna go sit at our table. You coming?

Kodie: Nah.

Katrina: Please. Why are you even sitting over here?

Kodie: Cause I can? Got any more questions?

Katrina: Alayna , watch and learn.

Katrina kissed Kodie's neck and Kodie just sat there.

Kodie: Stop.

Katrina: Baby , dont you love me?

Kodie: I never did.

Zoe: Sweetie word of advice , don't try so hard.

She spoke so softly.

Alayna: Shut up.

Zoe: And you got no nerve to be telling me to shut up in the position your in.

Katrina: Alayna , go clean your self up so she'll shut up.

Zoe: You have no nerve either.

Katrina leaned in Zoe's face.

Katrina: Oh and why is that.

Zoe: Well one cause your breath is kicking my ass right now , and two your in love with someone who doesn't love you back. You need some tooth paste and some mouth wash?

Katrina gasped and walked- my bad , strutted off. Niyah was dying over here. She was laughing so hard she choked on her chicken. I laughed and patted her back.

Niyah: Thank you.

Me: Yeah.

Kodie: So , Zoe.

Zoe: Yeah Kodie?

Zoe had finished her chicken and started to eat her apples while downloading things on her phone.

Kodie: So um , I'm performing at this park Saturday.

Zoe: Central Park?

Kodie: Yeah. The performance is at 1:00. Are you going?

Zoe: Well my sister wanted to go , and I told her yeah , so sure.

Kodie: Cool.

Me: Then how about afterwards , I take Cloe and you two go for a bite or something.

Zoe glared hard at me which made me grin.

Zoe: Um.

Kodie: It's up to you. I don't mind.

Zoe: I'll go , if I can pay for my own food.

Kodie: Deal.

Zoe: Okay then. It's a day.

Me: Try date.

Zoe: No , it's gonna be a day full of music and food.

Niyah: Yall should make it a date.

Kodie: Yeah no.

I just laughed.

Niyah: That reminds me. You remember when you said about the backup to get everything back?

Zoe: Yeah. Okay , so whose house can we go to that has a laptop with ITunes on it.

Everybody at the table raised their hands.

Zoe: Kodie , can we go to your house?

Kodie: Yeah sure.

Zoe: Cool. Uh text me your address and I'll meet you there.

Me: Or you can follow behind her.

Zoe: I have practice and I have to drop Cloe off at home.

Me: Oh right. Okay.

Kodie: Okay. What's your number?

Zoe: Um , better yet , what's your number cause I don't know mine yet.

Kodie: Okay haha.

She told Zoe her number and Zoe had sent a text to her phone. Kodie sent her address.

Zoe: I'll be there around 6 something. Is that okay?

Kodie: Yeah that's coo. Just call me when you bout to pull up. My step sister is kind of rude and just may cuss you out. She has a crush on me. It's nasty.

Zoe laughed.

Zoe: Okay.

The bell rang and every gathered their stuff.

Kodie: So I'll see yall later.

Zoe: Okay.

We all said a see ya later and went separate ways. I went to Science with Niyah.

Niyah: Your ugly.

I laughed.

Me: Nah. I'm afraid your confusing yourself and me.

Niyah playfully glared at me.

Niyah: Hey um , are you going to Kodie's performance Saturday?

Me: I don't know. My dad be tripping sometimes , but I'll see if I can.

Niyah: Well if you can go , find me.

Me: Okay.

We walked in and sat in our assigned seats that were beside of each other.
