I'm not just someone;

I'm one that has lived a million lives,

All those quests and contests;

But I have still survived.

With every monster a demigod kills;

And every obstacle the tributes go through,

And with every demon that goes back to Edom;

My breathing becomes steadier,

Do not be deceived by those innocent lives;

For they carry the burden of a million lives.

I call to them every night;

Demigods,tributes,shadowhunters and einherji,

To relieve  me of my worldly duties;

And sweep me into an endless void,

Beyond my realm and never return.

If you haven't figured it out dear reader,

You and I are quite alike;

For we have lived forever,

we have cried and laughed and won together;

So entreat me not to leave thee,

If aught but death part thee and me.
