Naïve Unprepared Child

Narrator's POV

"So...why are we doing this again?"

"Because it's Halloween."

"Yeah, but...why are we doing...this?"

"Wade, quit eating all the candy." Peter said as he turned around and snatched the candy bowl out of Wade's hands. "Because it's Halloween."

"Tony and Dr. Strange are Halloween dorks?" Wade asked.

"Yes. That's why we're decorating the Sanctum." Peter said. "Dr. Dad has never welcomed the general public into the Sanctum because of everything that's in here."

"Okay, so why is he letting them in this time?" Wade asked.

"Because he realized how good of a haunted house the Sanctum would make." Peter said. "Besides, he can also use his powers without anyone really knowing that they're real." Peter put the bowl down, attaching some goblin heads to the ceiling with webbing.

"Ah." Wade nodded. He looked at Peter. "So, what are you going as?"

"I really don't know." Peter said. "I was thinking maybe as like a really cool zombie or a mummy, but those are-" Peter stopped when he heard Wade laughing. "What?"

"So you still go trick or treating?" Wade asked.

"Um, yes. Why not?" Peter said.

Wade took Peter by the hips and brought him close. "I swear you're such a kid sometimes."

"Well, I've gotta take advantage of every Halloween I can before I grow up and never get the chance again." Peter told Wade.

"Nerd, you got that from a cartoon." Wade laughed and kissed Peter's lips.

"Save room for Jesus." Tony said, coming into the foyer of the Sanctum.

Peter pulled away from Wade. His face was bright red.

Wade smiled at Peter. Gosh, he thought it was the cutest thing ever when Peter got like this.

Tony perked through the windows of the Sanctum. "Honey, there are kids on the streets already." He said.

Stephen came down. "Well, I'm ready. Let's open up those doors." Stephen said.

"Dads, Wade and I are gonna get dressed." Peter said.

"He means he." Wade said as he followed Peter upstairs.

"Come on." Peter pulled Wade along with him.

Tony and Stephen watched them disappear upstairs.

>Knock< >Knock<

"They're here! They're here!" Stephen jumped in happiness. "Someone actually knocked on our door!" Stephen was excited.

"Is this the first time you do Halloween?" Tony asked, laughing a little as he grabbed the candy bowl.

"Shhhh!" Stephen said as he came to the door.

Tony rolled his eyes.

"Trick or treat!" The kids outside shouted.

Stephen opened the door. "Hello." He smiled. "Oh gosh, what have we got here?" He asked, looking at all the kids in their costumes. "Got some very scary costumes here."

"Rawr!" A kid in a costume growled.

"Whoa!" Stephen jumped back. "You scared me." He said, putting a hand to his chest.

Tony laughed as he brought the bowl forward to the kids. They all grabbed several pieces.

"Thank you! Happy Halloween!" They said before running away.

Stephen smiled. He looked at Tony.

"Yes?" Tony asked.

"That was the best!" Stephen said.

Tony smiled. "You're such a kid sometimes."

"We're ready!" Peter voice came from the staircase.

He was dressed as a Jedi night with a white robe.

Wade came behind him, not dressed as anything.

Lame

"Wade, why aren't you dressed up?" Stephen asked.

"Well." Wade put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "I'm not a kid anymore."

"Honey, one day you're gonna wish you could go back to these days." Stephen said, placing a hand on Wade's shoulder.

"I'm ready." Oliver said making his way downstairs in a blue robe identical to Stephen's, only smaller. In his right hand was his Jack-O- Lantern candy basket.

"So you'll be Dr. Strange this year?" Tony asked.

"Yeah! I've already been Ironman, Captain America, Black Panther, and Loki. This year I wanted to be Dr. Strange." Oliver explained.

"Well, then you might want to take Levi with you." Tony said.

Levi shrunk himself to a size that would suit Oliver.

"Thank you." Oliver smiled.

"Alright, were gonna head out before all the candy's gone." Peter said. "Come on Ollie."

Oliver ran to his side. "See you later, Happy Halloween!" Oliver said as he, Peter and Wade left.

"Hah..." Tony sighed, smiling. "They grow up so fast." He didn't get a response from Stephen. "Honey?" He looked at him.

Stephen was basically in tears. He held a hand to his chest. "I'm so happy." He smiled.

Tony hugged him. "You're okay." He smiled.

"Thank you!" Oliver thanked a woman at the house they stopped at when she gave them candy.

"She has good candy." Peter said as he looked at the candy she handed them. He took out a small bag of gummy bears. "What did you get Oliver?"

Oliver took out a king size Hershey's bar. "This." He said.

"Your little brother outdid you." Wade laughed at Peter.

"Let's go to the next house." Peter said.

"Wait." Oliver turned around. "We missed a house back there. I'm just gonna go real quick, okay?" Oliver asked.

"Okay." Peter said. "Meet us back here, we're just going to the house right here." Peter pointed at the house next to the house they were at.

"Okay." Oliver said before running to the house they missed.

"Trick or treat!" Oliver said.

The door opened on its own, making a creaking noise.

"Ooooooo." Oliver said.

It was dark in the house.

"Welcome." There was a raspy voice.

"This is a really cool haunted house." Oliver said.

"Yes. Haunted house." Said the voice. "Come in. Candy is here."

Oliver stepped forward, going in the house.

He felt Levi tug him back.

"Don't be a scaredy-cat, Levi." Oliver said. "None of this is real. It's Halloween." He laughed.

A light lit up, shining down on a chair with a bowl of candy.

"There it is." Oliver smiled and walked to the chair.

"Take as much as you want." Said the voice. "Oliver, Stark's child."

Oliver's head perked up. "Wait, how did you-"

"RARGH!" There was a low growl.

He looked around, soon noticing a figure on the ceiling. It's large white eyes stared at him. "Ah!" He gasped.

The figure screeched, throwing itself toward Oliver.

Levi hovered over Oliver, giving him time to run.

"Hah!" Oliver ran toward the door.

-Slam-

"You're not going anywhere." Said the voice, appearing at the top of the door.

Oliver fell back, his breathing was fast. "Levi!" He called.

Levi didn't come to him.

"No help." The figure said.

It's voice echoed around the room.

Oliver looked all around for it. He was scared, he was terrified.

"No one is coming."

Oliver looked around, spotting the black figure jumping toward him with a hiss.

He let a scream escape his throat before everything went dark.
