It Was My Turn
Narrator's POV
"I will ride on the roof of that ambulance if I have to!" Bucky said, running beside the paramedics as they carried Matt away.
Wanda had carefully removed his helmet and suit, not only to hide his identity, but to also let him breathe.
Matt had been stuck under rubble for who know how long with who know how many broken and fractured bones and picture and torn organs or muscles.
"You're friend is dying here." One paramedic said. "We can not afford any delays here." He said.
"Bullshit!" Bucky said. "I'm not going to lose him."
"You won't if you let us do our job."
Bucky raised his metal arm up. "I'll show you-"
"Whoa." Sam suddenly came down from the sky and stopped Bucky from his actions. "Cool it." Sam said. "I've got it." Sam told the paramedic.
"Sam, let me by." Bucky said. "I don't want to have to kick your ass." He growled.
"Buck." Steve said behind him.
Bucky turned to him.
"We know how much he means to you." Steve said. "But for his survival, let him go this time."
Bucky hated when Steve made his stupid sappy speeches that always changed his mind. "Hmph." He pushed Sam away and walked away from the two.
"James-"
"Let him go." Steve told Sam. "He needs time."

"Can you tell us your name? Sir, can you tell us your name?"
"M-Matthew."
"Good. Good. Matthew what?" A paramedic shone a light into Mathew's eyes. "Eyes are not responding."
"Murdock." He answered weakly.
"Okay. Mr. Murdock, are there any possibilities that you may be blind or-"
"I-I am..." Mate gasped.
"Alright, slow down there friend." The paramedic said, pulling out a stethoscope and placing it on Matt's chest. "Damn."
"What?" Matt asked.
"Nothing. Keep talking bud." The paramedic told him. "What was it that you do for a living?" He asked.
"I-I'm a lawyer." Matt told him.
"Oh, a lawyer. Interesting. How many cases have you had?"
"Plenty." Matt coughed.
"Okay, I'm gonna give you some morphine to calm the pain your body is in right now. Alright?" The paramedic told Matt.
Matt sat up suddenly.
"Whoa! Okay." The paramedic laid him back down. "Let's not do that."
"W-Where am I?" Matt asked.
"It's alright. My name is Josh, I'm here to help you. You're going through some trauma. Your name is Matt Murdock, you're a lawyer." The paramedic told him.
"Ngh!" Matt groaned. "Ah!" He gasped.
The heart monitor is the ambulance was beeping really fast.
"Charlie, we need to calm him down." Josh told another paramedic.
"I'm on it." The other paramedic said, looking around for something.

"Dad, it's gonna be okay." Peter said, placing a hand on Tony's shoulder. "Dr. Strange is the master of the Mystic Arts, with his magic, he'll heal right up. It's going to be alright."
"No it won't."
Tony and Peter turned toward the voice that had said that.
It was Oliver.
"He won't heal." Oliver said. "Mordo took his energy." He explained. "And what he did to vanish Carnage was the last of the Mystic energy he had left." He sniffled in between tears. "If I would have listen to him and not used magic, I could've-" He paused. "Why didn't I-" He sobbed.
"Come here, Ollie." Peter said, going over to his little brother.
"It's my fault! It all my fault!" Oliver cried.
"No, Ollie." Peter said, picking him up. "It wasn't your fault. Don't cry."
"I killed him Peter. I did! I did this!" Oliver cried in his brother's shoulder.
"Shh..." Peter rocked him about, looking up and blinking, trying to keep tears from spilling in his eyes.

"His lungs are filling up with blood!" A paramedic said. "Micheal get time the vacuum! He's drowning in his own blood."
"Ah!" Stephen said, coming out of his body. He looked around. He was in an ambulance, below him rested his dying body. "Matt..." He said under his breath.
Hurrying out of his ambulance, knowing there not much time left, he searched the city for the second ambulance.
Once he had located it, he entered it.
Inside laid Matt, suffering from shock. His body shook uncontrollably, and his back was arched. Paramedics were trying their best to get him back.
Opening a small hole out of the astral plain, he came into reality.
"Whoa!" The paramedics all stood back as Stephen suddenly appeared there.
"Calm down." Stephen said, looking down at Matt. He opened his hand over his face, a faint yellow glow appeared.
"Sir, we can't let you-"
"I'm a doctor." Stephen said. "I know what I'm doing."
"Sir-" One of the paramedics tried to push him away, but her hands went right through Stephen.
"Do not interrupt me." Stephen said, running his hands down Matt's body. "I'm trying to save him."
"Ah!" Matt gasped.
The heart monitor started to slowly beat with less frequency.
"It's working." One of the paramedics said.
"Hah..." Stephen finished, sighing weakly.
Matt panted, listening around. "Where is he?" He asked.
"I'm here Matthew." Stephen said. "Listen I don't have much time."
"Stephen-"
"Tell Tony that, first of all this was my choice, but tell him none of this was his fault or anyone else's fault." Stephen said.
"But Stephen-"
"Oliver can have belongings. The library is his now. I pass Levi onto him. Tell them all that I love them very much."
"Stephen." Matt sat up. "But why did you save me? Why would you give up your life for mine?" He asked.
Stephen smiled. "Saving lives is my job." He said. "It was my turn." He said softly.
"Stephen, but you're leaving your family behind." Matt said.
There was no response.
"Stephen?" Matt asked. "Stephen."
"He's gone." One of the paramedics said.
Matt let his head fall, sighing.

"Alright... Thank you. I-It's okay." Bruce said as he got off the phone. He sighed, shaking his head. He turned to Tony, who was pacing around, his hands to his head, talking to himself, babbling. He slowly made his way to him. "Tony." He said.
"Yeah?" Tony looked up, staring at him with fear filled eyes, worry reflecting on his face.
Bruce's stare dropped to the ground sighing.
"No." Tony said. "No, Bruce. No."
"Tony, I'm sorry." Bruce said. "They said..." He sighed. "He-" He stopped, putting a hand up to his mouth, sniffling.
"Bruce stop this." Tony said angrily. "Stop this shit right now!"
"He passed in the ambulance." Bruce finished, his voice cracking.
"I cannot lose him a second time." Tony said. "Not again." He said.
His helmet formed over his face.
"Tony-"
Tony took off in the air, in the direction the ambulance had taken.
Bruce sighed.
"Dr. Banner." Peter's voice came.
Peter still had Oliver in his arms. The small boy had cried himself to sleep on his shoulder.
Bruce looked up at him with tear filled eyes, shaking his head.
Peter bit his lip, tears filling eyes. He nodded and turned his back to Bruce.
Silent tears ran down Peter's cheeks and onto the concrete.
