It's Not About Me
Narrator's POV
"Sam, we've moved everything out of the way." Clint said.
"He has to be here. He was here." Sam said, looking around. "I left him here!"
"Sam..." Bruce said.
Sam looked up at him.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"No! No. This can't be it." Sam said. "I made a promise."
"Sam!" Clint called. "He's gone."
Sam sighed, letting his head hang. He closed his eyes tightly, holding back tears, trying to be strong.

"What in tarnation happened here?"
Sam looked up only to see his old man in his wheelchair with his blanket on his lap with a box of strawberries.
"Hah..." Sam sighed in relief. He made his way toward Steve, wiping away a few tears. "Where have you been, you old crow?"
"I was just out taking a walk." Steve said. "What have you done with the place?" He asked, looking at all the destruction. "I was gone for twenty minutes."
"We had a bit of a problem." Sam said.
"Bit?" Clint asked. "Yeah, more like huge."
Steve looked at Clint, then back at Sam, squinting. "Did you draw my bath?" He asked.
Sam laughed. "You don't know how happy I am to see you."
"Urgh..." There was a groan from somewhere around them.
"Peter." Wade called. "Are you okay?" He asked, running over to Peter's side sliding on his knees toward him.
"Yes." Peter nodded. He rubbed his head. "I-" He paused looking around. "What happened?" He asked.
"That wizard freak put all of us to sleep or something." Wade said.
Peter looked around, then at Wade. "Ah!" He gasped. "Wade." He pointed at his abdomen.
There was a katana through Wade's abdomen.
Wade smiled at Peter. "Don't you worry about it. Hmph!" He pushed it out. "See? All good."
"Aunt Carol." Peter said, as he got up, running up to her.
Valkyrie was at her side.
"Oh, no. Team lesbian." Wade said, running over to them.
"I'm fine." Carol said. "Valkyrie knows a bit of medicine."
"I was a wound treater in many of my battles." Valkyrie said. "Nothing I haven't seen before."

"Matt!" Bucky called as he ran back into what was left of the hotel.
"Matt!" Wanda called.
Bucky looked all around. He couldn't find Matt. His head was spinning, his breath grew short. The adrenaline coursing through his veins doubled in amount.
"Matt!" He shouted.
There was coughing under some debris.
A hand slowly lifted up, and waved.
"O-Over here..." A faint voice called.

"Get off me!" Mordo growled.
Sleepover hissed. "You hurt the ones we love. You hurt our friends. You hurt ussss!" He hissed.
"Hah!" Mordo put a blade through Sleepover.
Sleepover looked down at the blade in his abdomen, only forming a wide evil smile. "No good." He absorbed the blade.
"Then what-" Mordo stopped when he rememered.
When he and Carnage had formed an alliance, he learned from the symbiotic that fire was its only weakness, its destruction.
"Hah!" Mordo, summoned flames at his palms.
Sleepover screeched, but that screech changed into a chuckle.
"Hm?" Mordo looked at him.
"Fire won't work." Sleepover said.
Being a mixture of half human and half symbiote, plus another human with magical abilities, made him immune.
Fear reflected off of Mordo's eyes.
"Please, I-I can give you power. I can give you all you want. I will make you the most-"
"We don't want your lies." Sleepover said. His tongue dropping out of his mouth, licking Mordo's face.
"Please."
Sleepover chuckled, widening his mouth, displaying thousands of sharp teeth before leaning into Mordo.

"AAAHH!"
A loud scream was heard from somewhere around the area.
Everyone looked back.
"Sleeper." Eddie said, now coming out of Venom. He raced toward the source of the scream. "Sleeper! I'm-" He stopped when he saw someone that wasn't Sleeper, well at least not completely. "Whoa."
Sleepover looked up from the concrete, where there was a rather small puddle of blood. He was quick and very neat when it came to eating.
"Hi dad!" Sleepover said, waving at Eddie.
"Hiya, kid." He said, looking at Sleepover. "How'd you...?"
"This happened when Oliver and I were in the woods when we went camping." He said. "It just sort of happened."
"Where's Mor...did you eat him?" Eddie asked.
"Yes." Sleepover responded.
"Ah!" Venom gasped. "He ate first human." He said. "I am proud."
Eddie chuckled. "I'm allowing this one time, only because he was a bad guy." He said.
"Is Dr. Strange okay?" Sleepover asked.
"Um..." Eddie swallowed thickly.
"Oh, no." Sleepover hurried over to where the rest of the Avengers were. He saw Scott gently setting his hand down to the ground.
Tony stepped down from Scott's hand carrying Stephen in his arms. He set him on the ground.
Everyone gathered around.
"Move, give him space." Bruce said. He put a hand to Stephen's wrist, taking his pulse. "Someone get an ambulance now!" He said.
"On it." Eddie said.
"Ah!" Sleepover gasped.
"Daddy!"
Everyone turned to Sleepover to see him fall in two, revealing Oliver and Sleeper.
Oliver ran over to everyone. "Daddy."
"Not now Oliver." Tony pushed him away. "Friday check his vitals." Tony said, looking down at Stephen.
Body temperature: 67.9
Heart rate is low sir
"Tell me." Tony said, worry and fear running through his mind.
49 beats per minute sir
Blood pressure is 52 mm Hg diastolic
"Oh god." Bruce said, taking his jacket off and wrapping it around Stephen's leg. "He's losing too much blood."
"Daddy!" Oliver yelped.
"Thor." Tony said.
Thor nodded and picked Oliver up. "Come, Oliver."
"No! No!" Oliver kicked and tried to get out of Thor's grip. "Put me down! Papa!" Oliver yelped as he got pulled away. "Daddy!"
"Thor take him!" Tony shouted.
"Tony..."
Tony looked down at Stephen, gasping. "I'm here honey." He said, taking Stephen's hand. "You're gonna be okay. We've called an ambulance. They're-"
"It's not a-" Stephen coughed, spitting a bit of blood up.
"Stephen, I need you to stay very still." Bruce said.
"The ambulance said they'd be here in five minutes." Eddie said.
"They're coming. Just hold on." Tony said.
"It's not..." Stephen gasped. "...not about me." He said.
"Stephen it's okay." Tony said.
"No, Tony." Stephen said. "You don't-" He gasped. "-understand. Y-You were suppose to die." Stephen said. "B-But Peter interr-" He coughed. "-upted the time line." He gasped.
"Stephen just hold on." Tony said. "Hold on. I can already hear the sirens."
"You said it yourself." Stephen said. "You mess with time, it t-tends to mess back." He gasped. "Argh..." He groaned, holding a hand to his stomach.
"Mr. Banner Matt's-" Peter stopped once he saw what was going on. His eyes filled with tears. "Dr. Dad!" He kneeled next to Stephen.
"Peter..." Stephen sighed sweetly.
"We're here!" The paramedics said, hurrying into the scene.
"Be gentle with him." Banner said.
"Banner!" Bucky called.
"Matt." Bruce said, getting up and running toward the direction of Bucky's voice. "We've got another injured here!" Banner shouted.
Some paramedics followed him.
"Ah..." Stephen hissed as the paramedics moved him onto a stretcher.
"Hey! Watch it." Tony growled, holding Stephen's hand.
"Sir, were gonna need you to stay here."
"Like hell I'm staying here." Tony said.
"Sir!" A female paramedic stopped him from joining Stephen and the paramedics wheeling him away. "There's not enough room in the ambulance. You have t-"
"Let me through!" Tony said.
"You have to stay here!" She said.
"Tony!" Peter called.
"What?!" Tony shouted back at him.
"Calm yourself." Peter said, crying.
Tony's expression softened, still worried and scared as hell, he stayed behind with Peter.
"We're gonna need another ambulance and a second team." Said the paramedic into her radio.
Tony watched as they placed Stephen in the ambulance.
The sound of sirens rung in his ears, and the red lights flashed all around him.
The ambulance doors shut, the ambulance drove away.
He could heat Oliver screaming and crying someone in the distance, knowing Thor still had him in his arms.
Thor could be heard trying to calm Oliver down, signing him a sweet lullaby about horses.
