Everything is Alright

Narrator's POV

"Anthony."

Tony picked his head up in the waiting area as a nurse called his name.

It was Christine.

He quickly stood up and walked over to her.

"Are they okay? How's the kid? Can I go-"

"Follow me." She said.

He didn't know what that meant. He followed her nervously, opening and closing his fists as he walked behind her.

They boarded and elevator and went up. They stopped on the sixth floor.

"They're right in there." She told him, pointing at the door in front of the elevator.

Tony stepped out of the elevator and looked at the door. He heard the doors closing behind him and looked back.

Christine smiled at him before the elevator doors shut.

He couldn't tell if that was a good smile or a sympathy smile. Whatever it was, it left him with a confused feeling.

"Hah..." He sighed and stood in front of the door. He looked down at the knob. He reached for it with a shaking hand. "Alright, prepare yourself Stark." He whispered to himself and sighed.

He took in a deep breath and twisted the doorknob, pushing the door open.

He quietly stepped in.

What he saw on the bed made his heart skip a beat.

Stephen was lying on the bed sleeping, while Peter lay with him, embracing him.

"Hah..." His breath grew short. He put a hand up to his mouth, tears formed in his eyes.

They were okay.

His family was safe. His family was here. They were really here, and they were safe.

He reached a shaky hand to Peter's back and touched him.

He gasped in happiness, tears streamed down his face.

They really were here.

He closed his eyes, letting tears pour and smiled.

"Mmm..." There was a low moan.

Tony opened his eyes and watched as Peter shifted. He watched as Peter slowly picked his head up and looked around. He waited for Peter to notice him. Then he did.

"Dad?" Peter asked, squinting at Tony.

Tony nodded, sniffling as tears poured from his eyes. "Hey, kid." He said, sniffling afterward.

Peter sat up.

Tony noticed Peter's right arm had been amputated.

"Iron Dad!" Peter yelped and jumped out of the bed, catching himself before almost falling to the ground.

"Careful." Tony said, putting his arms out to catch him. "You're still-"

Peter embraced his dad with the arm he still had.

"Peter." Tony spoke. "You're arm-"

"I don't care." Peter said, holding his dad closer. "I'm just happy to see you."

Tony smiled and hugged his son back. He closed his eyes and let the breath he was holding in go.

He pulled away and looked at Peter.

"Not a day went by when I didn't think about you." Tony said.

"A day?" Peter asked. "It was only five hours."

Tony pulled Peter in for another hug and sighed in relief, holding him close. "Quantum physics works differently." Tony said. "But it's okay, you're here."

Peter smiled and held his dad close.

The door opened, interrupting their moment.

It was Christine again, and she was accompanied by Wade and a little somebody.

"Oh...um, sorry to interrupt..." She said.

Peter and Tony pulled away from each other.

"Peter!" Oliver ran to his big brother and embraced him.

"Ollie." He smiled and held his little brother. He looked up at Wade, who was on the verge of tears. "Wade." He smiled.

"Oh, Petey." Wade walked over to Peter and picked up, spinning him about.

This brought Peter joy.

Wade stop spinning then and held Peter close. "I thought I lost you." Wade said.

"You could never lose me." Peter smiled.

Tony smiled at such a sweet scene.

"Um... Peter you're not quite stable yet. You need to go back to your room." Christine interrupted.

Tony looked at Peter.

"What? I wanted to see make sure Dr. Dad was okay when I heard he got sent to the hospital with me. Plus, you know I heal fast." Peter said.

Wade put him down.

Tony looked back at Stephen, who was still lying on the bed, asleep.

Tony smiled at Peter.

"Come on Peter." Christine said.

"I'll be back." Peter told Tony as he walked toward the door.

"We'll go with them." Wade told Tony, picking Oliver up.

Tony smiled at him.

Peter left the room with Christine, along with Wade and Oliver.

Tony sighed and walked closer to Stephen.

He placed his hand over one of Stephen's and ran his hand up his arm to his face and caressed it.

"You've been gone for so long..." Tony said to the sleeping wizard. "I moved away from the city with Oliver. I built a cabin by the lake where I set the table on fire while trying to be romantic for a first date back in our academy days." Tony laughed a little. "It's beautiful. We have a garden and make our own stuff most of the time. We're going green. I haven't had a burger in a while now." He looked at Stephen. "Oh. Um, Wade is living with us. He's quite helpful with stuff and keeps Oliver company." Tony's eyes fell to one of Stephen's empty hands. "And sometimes keeps me company..."

He could feel tears starting to form in his eyes.

"...because I've been so lonely." He looked up at Stephen again, sniffling. "Everyday, every night I thought about you. There wasn't a minute that went by that you weren't in the back of my mind. I just..." Tony sniffled, pinching the skin between his eyes. "Hah..." He sighed, looking up and shaking it off. He wiped tears from his eyes. "I'm just happy you're okay." He said, taking Stephen's hand in his. "I love you, Stephen." He kissed the hand he was holding, soon taking notice of the red ring with a poop emoji around one of Stephen's hand.

He smiled.
