A Break

Narrator's POV

"Do you hear that?" Tony whispered as he laid in bed, wrapped around Stephen.

"Hear what?" Stephen asked.

"Exactly." Tony said, closing his eyes and sighing in relaxation. "You know, I got two more hours of sleep that I really needed."

Stephen turned to Tony and smiled. "Good." He kissed his husband's forehead.

They laid in bed quietly for a few more minutes.

"You know, I've always wanted to come to Italy." Stephen said.

"You're here now." Tony said. "And we're gonna do everything there possibly is to do here." Tony said.

Stephen smiled at him.

Tony rubbed his leg against Stephen's crotch.

"Hey, honey. Are you up for a quickie?"

"It's pronounced Quiche, and sure." Stephen said, remaining on the bed.

Tony climbed on top of him and took both of Stephen's arms, placing the above his head before beginning to kiss Stephen's neck.

"Are we gonna go swimming first? Or do you wanna grab a bite to eat?" Stephen asked Tony as they walked around one of the many square markets.

"Let's grab a bite to eat." Tony said. "I've been dying to try actual Italian food."

"Where do you wanna go?" Stephen asked, pulling out a map from his backpack.

"Somewhere with good wine." Tony said.

"Honey, were in Italy. All wine is good wine here." Stephen told him.

"Whatever." Tony said. "Let's just got to eating."

Stephen looked at him. "Well, tell me where you wanna go."

"I don't know." Tony said, looking around at everything there was to do. "You pick."

"We're not about to do this again." Stephen said.

Tony looked at him. "Are we not?"

"No."

After finally picking a place to eat and approving the wine, Tony sat in front of Stephen with a beautiful view of the ocean.

"How do you think the kids are doing?" Stephen asked.

"I don't know." Tony took a sip of his wine. "All I know is that the house is till on one piece."

"How?" Stephen asked.

Tony pressed a device on his wrists, making a hologram of the house appear.

"Oh, no." Stephen said. "We are not bringing any technology other than our phones." Stephen said.

"But Stephen. I need this t-"

"I don't care." Stephen said. "This is suppose to be a tech-free vacation." Stephen opened his backpack. "In the bag it goes."

Tony sighed and put in the bag.

"Tony, empty your pockets." Stephen told him.

"Fine." Tony sighed and emptied his pockets, placing more devices in the backpack.

"All of them." Stephen said.

"Urgh..." Tony rolled his eyes and emptied every single pocket he had. "There."

Stephen cleared his throat and pointed at his sunglasses.

"No. Stephen, I can't."

"In the bag."

"But I need them to block the sun. You know how bad I-"

"Don't worry. I brought extra." Stephen said, pulling out a pair of regular sunglasses.

"But Honey, I-"

"I'm not gonna tell you again." Stephen said.

Tony groaned, letting his head fall back. He let out a long sigh before looking at Stephen again. "Fine." He removed his sunglasses, and dropped them in the backpack. He took the ones Stephen offered.

"There." Stephen closed the backpack. "Doesn't that feel better?"

Tony didn't say anything.

"I'm gonna need the suit too."

"What? Absolutely not." Tony crossed his arms.

"Anthony Edward Stark I will open a portal right under your chair and make sure you never see the light of the sun again." Stephen said.

"Geez, okay." Tony put his hands up and removed the arc reactor from his chest, and place it in the backpack. "Mom." He finished.

"Stress-free vacation." Stephen smiled.

"Can I still-"

"No."

"But what if-"

"No."

"Stephen-"

"No."

"Hmph." Tony looked at Stephen, who was peacefully enjoy a Caesar salad. "Watch me do it when your sleepy ass asleep." He said under his breath.

"Tony, if you go anywhere near this backpack, I will make sure you suffer every minute after." Stephen said.

That made Tony think twice. He knew what the wizard was capable of. You didn't want to be on Stephen's bad side.

"Okay." Tony answered simply.

"Do you even know how to surf?" Stephen asked Tony as he watched him rent a surfboard from a man in a small shack.

"Psh, who doesn't?" Tony asked.

"Me." Stephen said.

"Oh. Um..." Tony froze in place. Honestly, he didn't know how to either. He just wanted to impress his husband. "Then allow me to teach you." Tony said, making his way into the water.

"Okay. I'll watch." Stephen said, sitting down on the white sand beach.

"Great!" Tony turned his back to Stephen and sighed. "What did I get myself into?"

Stephen opened his backpack and took out some sunscreen and applied it to himself.

Better safe than sorry, no?

Once he was done, he put on a sun hat and a pair of sunglasses. Now, all his attention was on Tony.

Tony turned to him, watching to see if Stephen was still watching.

Stephen waved at him. "You've got this!" He encouraged Tony.

"Yeah." Tony smiled. "I'm gonna drown..." Tony whispered to himself as kept walking deeper into the water. He climbed on the board and began to push himself into the waves. "Okay, chill out. If Point Break can do it, so can I." He said. "Yeah, if that hammer head can do it, anyone can."

And boy was he wrong.

Once he'd manage to catch a good size wave and stand on the board, he was feeling himself.

"Look Stephen!" He called. "I'm doing it!" He was proud of himself.

Stephen smiled and clapped for him at the shore.

"Whoa..." Tony gasped, starting to lose his balance. "wHoA." The wave was closing in one him. "Gah!" He yelped and the wave devoured him.

"Ah! Tony!" Stephen gasped and stood up, looking out into the water for his husband.

Tony wasn't anywhere to be seen. He began to summon a spell to lift the water off the face of the earth, but something washed up on shore.

It was Tony.

"Tony." He hurried to him. "My goodness, are you okay?"

Tony's back faced Stephen. His face was in the sand.

"Ah!" Tony yelped. He saw Stephen. "Am I in heaven? Cuz I just saw an angel." He said.

"Urgh!" Stephen stuck Tony's face back in the sand. "Jerk, you had me worried there." He walked away from Tony.

Tony laughed, picking his head up from the sand. "Aww, honey I'm sorry." He laughed. "I'm sorry. Peter showed it to me in a tv show for kids with a sponge." Tony got up, chasing after Stephen.
