"Wake-up! Sis! Time for you to go to school," Chris loud and hushed voiced as he pulled on her yellow curtains making noises even if in here, in Montreal, darkness prevailed at this hour.

Ava groaned but didn't move as she tried to stay focus on her dream.

"Come on sis, you got to eat and then go to school. I would have yell from downstairs, but it will wake up Lee."

"Ugh what did you say?" she was still sleepy It was six a.m. when Ava woke up, they had to get up early for her school as it was still a bit far from home. She still had her old alarm still functioning but really for kids, a blue-grey koala shape. She couldn't wait to have her own phone and use the clock phone feature to wake her up or even the songs. She was still too young to own a phone according to her father. She could use the clock feature in her iPod Touch, but it was not always the same and most of the time, it was charging in another room.

"You have to go to school," Chris repeated as he flipped the switch of the light.

"Five more minutes, my alarm will ring in five more minutes." She said in a raspy voice. "It's definitely not six a.m. and since when do you care if you wake up Lee?" She groaned, it was way too early to deal with Chris. Where was Dad? He is the one who wakes her up.

"I don't want to deal with a moody Lee. It's been a while and I'm not ready to deal on a Monday morning with him."

Chris was right. Ava sighed loudly, there was no use to fight with him and she knew she would pay the price if she dared to wake Lee. She did not want to be his victim as a payback.

"Lee usually sleeps through all the noises. At least, Dad is more careful," She curled her legs with the comforter in her bed not caring about the bright light illuminating her room nor the fact Chris had let the door wide open.

One or two minutes may have passed before Ava asked: "What are you doing in my room? Get out!"

"I have to make sure, you won't fall back asleep, again!"

Her alarm chose that moment to ring.

"WHAT THE FUCK! Who's making so much noise?! Chris! It's fucking six a.m.," Lee said appearing just wearing his grey boxer.  " I'M NO LONGER SLEEPING BECAUSE OF YOU, TWO! CHRIS, DO YOU REALLY NEED TO SCREAM LIKE A BANSHEE

"First, Dad has asked me to wake Ava and drive her to school! Second, just go back to sleep for another two hours and then we will help Frankie on his projects. Third, I don't scream like a banshee."

"You don't even know what it means!" Elliott said appearing next to Lee, also in his green boxer.

"Too late, now that I'm awake. No way, I can go back to sleep. Thank you!" Lee said in a sarcastic tone at the end.

Ava threw her arms up in exasperation as she opened the light. "Move, Chris, you are in the way and I need to get change. And you go back to your room. OUT!" She said waving her hands back and forth.

Lee grumbled but complied and left the room not before slamming her door. Chris sighed and passed a hand on his face, he opened the door and closed it with less force. He pushed his younger brother out of the way.

It didn't take her long after cleaning the lenses of eyeglasses with a touch of mascara,  she was ready to go. She grabbed her grey schoolbag laying next to her working table and checked if she was missing any books or papers. She grabbed what she needed and went downstairs to join her brothers who were all awake.

Parker was near the fridge checking his phone and dressed with a band T-Shirt and black pants. Chris was cooking, he had his sport blue T-Shirt and his grey jogger pants. Ava presumed, Lee being still upstairs. Elliott and Frankie were both only in their underwear looking at their phones.

"Is it that difficult to find a shirt? No decency! Aren't you guys, cool? I'm freezing."

"You are always freezing, sis," Elliott said still checking his phone. " Plus this is decent. We are in the house, in the kitchen, where no one can see us."

"Great! Since the employees working at mom's house would be on vacation, I will go down in the kitchen wearing only a bra and a pantie."

Parker choked on his green apple bite and coughed while Frankie spitted his orange on the counter in granite.

"NO WAY IN HELL!" Chris said not moving from where he stands. "Ava is right. Guys, get changes, we need you to wear something if you want to come with us," He ordered his younger brothers.

"For Jesus' sake, Avalanche, you are thirteen years old! I don't need to see my sister's tits," Frankie said. " Chris, can you pass me a rag to clean up before going to put clothes for Madame," he rolled his eyes.

She rolled her eyes. " No need to be so dramatic!  I said I was going to wear a bra, didn't you listen? And it's like a bikini, it won't be the first time, you see me like that nor the last time," She shook her and turned to grab her water bottle in the fridge.

Parker  was slowly drinking water said in between two bites: "You got to take your pills and eat."

"I don't eat in the morning. Can you pour me water?" Parker nodded and grabbed her medication. Their dad had explained everything about her medication. " You too Frankie and Elliott, grab your meds before you go change."

"Where are they going?" She frowned.

"We are going to see your school!" Elliott explained as he nodded to Chris.

He took the two pills handed by quickly swallowed the two pills giving by Chris and swallowed them by drinking from the glass of water on his left

"What do you mean? You don't eat in the morning? Breakfast is the most important meal," Elliott asked. "Spencer is so going to question about it  when he wakes up."

"I'm just not hungry, let it go! You know the side-effect of some meds," she replied untwisting the cap of her water bottle and took the meds that Parker was giving to her.

Frankie grumbled but obeyed knowing how important it was. A few moments later, Ava left to brush her teeth, the mess was cleaned and the two brothers were going to grab clothes.

"I can't believe, he sleeps through all those noises!" Frankie commented to Elliott as they stepped on the stairs bringing them to the second level where their rooms were.

"He's a heavy sleeper and he went to sleep late so he will eat later," Lee replied.

"Be ready in five minutes, we need to go!" Chris's voice reached them as they were at the top of the stairs.

"We will be in the car," Ava added as she took her winter coat and her black boots.

Chris checked the kitchen one last time to make sure nothing was cooking or on before following his sibling at the entrance.

" I get Chris will drive me to school, but why the others need to be there. Can't they just stay at home?" She asked as she tried to reach for her hat in one of the basket above her head in the closet. " Thanks," she muttered as Parker gave it to her and asked " This one?"

"It's not that bad, Ava. It's just one time and we heard it was a public school so we wandering how it was. Plus it's better that I come if Chris doesn't hear the directions."

"I heard direction really well and I checked Google Maps, this morning!" Chris replied as he grabbed the keys and opened the door.

The snow was literally everywhere. It was cold and it was seven a.m. " Woah, Lee is lucky for today not to walk on all that snow."

"What do you mean, Lee never wakes up this early. He has a part-time job, in the afternoon and goes to a center a bit far from here to practice surf or he goes see his friends. He doesn't drive me to school! Are you crazy?"She said grabbing her school bag, ready to walk outside.

"Lee never drive you to your school?" Parker exclaimed shock as he learned while Chris didn't comment, he just checked his phone and was walking to the car.

"Only if we need him when dad is away. I try to take the bus in the morning if it's too difficult. Dad takes care of it and, in the afternoon, I take the bus."

Chris unlocked the car, Parker and her opened the car's doors in the back and climbed inside closing the door as the wind was cold.

"I'm going to be late because of them!" she muttered glancing at her watch.

"What do you mean? It's still early, your school starts at 8:30," Chris questioned.

"I need to be at school early because I'm doing a project with someone and I promise I would come early to go over it!"

"Right, You are sure it's not because you forgot your books and needed to do your homework before it rings?"

"No, can we go and just leave?"

Chris had started the car, but they were waiting for her two other brothers who were not even going to this school.

"We are here, no need to be so rude!" Frankie said sitting in the front while Elliott opened the door on Parker's side. "Can you move?"

"Just sit in the middle, Elliott, it won't be so long."

Elliott didn't waste any more time to ask her question as he was next to her while Frankie who was in the front, he was checking his phone.

"So a public school? Do you like that? Are you comfortable? Do you have any friends? Will we meet them? We were always in a private school and that's why we never like the schooling in here," Elliott commented not letting his sister replied to his questions. Frankie made a noise of agreement. " Any subjects you like or have difficulties?"

"It's too early to answer your questions and why are we doing the 21 questions now. Since when are you interested in my school life. We barely talk as we both have our own life far from each other. Can we just listen to the radio?" She asked and looked at Chris to address him"Do you know where you are going or I need to give you the directions?"

"I'm fine. I have Frankie with me. We should be here soon?"

"Yeah, just a couple of streets."

Chris followed the signs directing him to the entry of the school and saw the cars either parking or following a circuit for a landing stage and dropping the students neared the front door. He didn't want her to walk in the parking and some drivers don't pay attention. He slowed the speed and looked around. "Ready?"

"Yes!"

"No bye to us?" Parker teased.

"Nope! See you in the afternoon, after school."

"I'll be there when your school finish. Don't go to a bus, just wait for me here," Chris said, his eyes looking in front.

She nodded readying herself to take her schoolbag as Chris made the turn and stopped the car. He unlocked the door while Elliott unbuckled himself to take her place and closed the door.

"BYE! SIS!" Elliott and Parker yelled as El moved to take her spot and closed the door. Chris continued to drive and put his left turn signal on making the constant beep.

"What are you doing?" Frankie asked lifting his eyes up from his phone. " You need to go to the right?"

"I am going to park and make a quick call to dad and, no, it cannot wait until we are back home. Do you have everything for Lee's birthday and for your videos?" Chris asked his younger brother.

He found a spot and parked the car. They waited.

Lee's real birthday was in three days counting today, they, as the boys only, wanted to make something special for him. He had already agreed to help Frankie for his Youtube content and he would be the first to give news of their sister as she didn't have a phone. Their father wanted to wait until she is fourteen to have a phone. He asked to check was was the best phone for her birthday as prices here were better according to him.

"Yup, Elliott is in charge of Lee's birthday day. He doesn't work that day and we just need to bring Spencer up to speed. He should be able to help us. Parker helped me with my videos, I think, we need a few things at home like the tripod. I was hoping to film most in the basement because of all the snow," Frankie explained checking his notes on his phone.

"Lee, promises to show you where he works on his surfing. I'll get Ava while Parker can drive you, guys,  around where you need," Chris said looking through his contacts to find his Dad's number.

"I can drive!" Elliott protested.

"There's snow, everywhere and you never drive in the snow so no. Plus dad would have my head," Chris said in a firm tone. "Don't even started, Frankie," he said not even looking at his younger brother, he knew his train of thoughts. " I'm calling dad so be quiet. Think about if you want to film outside right now before it becomes crowded."

"Hi" his father answer.

"Hey! Dad! It's Chris. I'm in the parking lot of the school. How long did you want to be there?"

"Ten minutes. She should call me on my phone if she forgets something. "

"Got it!"

He glanced at the mirror above his head to check if she forgot something in the backseat. "She didn't seem to forget anything in the backseat."

"Good to hear! I'll hang up," his father replied.

"Bye."

He closed his phone watching as the parents come and go driving their children at school. No one was driving by themselves and just park and leave the car. In California where he lived, driving instruction would not take this long less than a year to earn their permit and be able to drive to school by themselves. Their father had explained to Parker and him, it takes longer to have a permit in here than in California and therefore, under no circumstance, Elliott and Frankie could drive around.

"Can you text, Lee and asked him when does he need to be at work?"

"He works at the place, he practices surf,"  Parker commented approaching his body and face forward to be in the conversation.

"Oh, I didn't know that."

"Well, too late, I send the text," Frankie announced. "If there's a park, not far, we can take pictures and film around. I'm not sure what to do as a video outside. I definitely want more space storage for later."

"Alright, no problem."

Chris started the car again and drove back home as they listen to Elliott's favourite band Pink Floyd. The park wasn't far from the way back to their home.
