Fairy tales shape every generation. We dream of magic and worlds far more fantastical than our own. These stories sink under our skin and give us hope. 

With that in mind for my entry in the Open Novella Contest this year, I chose prompt #24: A desperate wish made from the heart is always answered. Sooner or later.

I wanted to write my own fairy tale with this prompt. Wishes, after all, must come from somewhere, but what happens when they all fail?
