At the restaurant
"You must be Mr. Thorn," the host said when we arrived, "your table is right this way." He then led us to our table, which already had bread and water on it. "Your server will be with you shortly," he said and left. I then helped Marinette into her seat and then sat down myself. A waiter arrived but a moment later with two menus, "my name is James and I'll be your server for the evening, what would you like to drink."
"I'll have a water," Marinette said, "same" I replied.
"I'll be back in a moment with your drink," James said and walked off.
"This is a very nice place, good choice on coming here," she complimented, taking a piece of bread already on the table.
"Thanks, I've been meaning to come here, I just never had someone to go with," I told her. I picked up the menus and handed one to her saying, "order whatever you want, I'm paying."
"David, you don't have to do that" she said.
"Yes I do," I said, "it would go against the gentlemen's code." She laughed a little at that, and I smiled. In a moment Jams returned with our waters. "Have you decided yet, personally I would recommend the Beef Wellington" he suggested.
  "I would like the Braised Leeks with Mozzarella & a Fried Egg," Marinette said with a smile.
  "And I will actually take the Beef Wellington," I told him.
  "Of course," he said taking the menu and walking off.
  "Can I ask you something," Marinette said after a moment.
  "Sure, I'll see if I've got an answer," I told her.
  "Can you tell me what it was like for you back in the day," she asked.
  "Would you like me to start from before or after the accident," I asked politely.
  "After the accident," she said after a moment of considering.
  "Well it's a story of several lifetimes, metaphorically and literally," I started. I told her the story from the beginning to about 25 minuets in when our food arrived. "Bon appétit," James said setting our plates down, refilled our waters, and left. "I'll tell you more after dinner," I told her.
  "You've lived a very interesting life," she complimented.
  "I've lived a long life, but I never truly lived," I told her, "let's eat." So we then began eating our food.
After the meal
  "That was incredible," I said, "one of the best meals I've ever had."
  "I can agree with that," Marinette said with a smile.
  "Whenever you're ready," James said putting the bill down on the table and left. I picked up the bill, put a credit card in it and put it back down. A few moments later, James came back and took the bill.
  "When we get back to the bakery I can tell you more of my tales, if you would like," I offered her.
  "I would love that," she replied smiling, and yawned, "but I'm really tired."
  "Here you go sir, and have a wonderful evening," James said handing the card back.
  "Thank you," I replied, "well maybe tomorrow."
  We got up and left the restaurant, leaving a tip, heading toward the bakery hand in hand. As we walked, I felt something very peculiar the feeling of us being watched, I tilted my head to the side and saw someone following us out of my peripheral. I didn't tell Marinette, but I got us across the street to see if he was following us, and sure enough he followed. I waited for him to be within about 12 feet of us then I turned and yelled very loudly, "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING US!" His expression went wild and he said with a stutter, "I-I was ju-just about to t-turn here," and he turned and left.
  "What just happened," she asked me slightly confused
  "A little trick my dad taught me, if someone is following you turn and confront them, it completely throws them off," I informed her with a smile.
  "Good to know," she said, laughed and grabbed onto my arm and we continued back.
  When we got back, we went off to our separate rooms. As I slept that night, I dreamt of the date we just had.
