Final Showdown
The next day before noon at the Le Grand Paris
"Are you sure he'll be here," Hawkmoth asked in an unhappy mood.
"I know him all to well, he'll be here."
We stood there waiting in silence for what seemed to be a lifetime, until finally a dark shadowy shape appeared.
"I see you've been waiting for me, shall we get started," as he said that he ripped of his cloak revealing a set of armor. "I see you brought an army to fight me."
"No, I had a better idea in mind," I stepped forward in my own armor, "how about we do this like the old days, one-on-one dueling, no allies aloud."
"What are you doing," Chat shouted, "you said it yourself, you can't beat him alone!"
I turned toward them a smile on my face, "remember what I taught you," turned back to him and drew my sword.
"Your making a suicide run, and you know it," He looked at me confused, "your insane, you couldn't beat me then and you can't now."
"I trust in all of you to keep Paris safe, now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my story to end." I faced my enemy, sword drawn ready to fight, "if you want me, here I am!"
"Don't do this," Ladybug pleaded.
"I have to end this here and now."
(The story is switching to 3rd person POV.)
And so it began. Blows were exchanged, blood was spilled, sparks flew, and that's how it went between them for what felt like hours. Negative managed to cut Dunkirk's left forearm off, however, Negative was put off balance when Dunkirk cut out his eye and broke his sword. And it continued like that until Negative got a lucky shot and ran what was left of his sword threw Dunkirk and pinned him to the ground.
"You lost again, and this time for good" Negative whispered into his ear.
"Don't... count your..... chickens... just yet..." he replied as a sudden glow shot part way out the back of Negative.
As he began to disintegrate, he smiled and said, "looks like I was wrong, I'll see you when you reach the afterlife." Then, he was gone for good.
(Returning to 1st person POV.)
Ladybug ran up to me, trying to remove the sword, "Come on stay with me, please, stay with me."
"I just realized," I started, "I was never training partners, I was training replacements."
"Don't talk like that, you'll make it through this," Ladybug said still trying to get the sword out, with tears in her eyes.
"Do me a favor Ladybug," I said pulling a small envelope from under my armor, "give this to Marinette for me will you."
Chat came up to me then, "you can give it to her yourself."
"Keep each other safe, and never stop being yourself," darkness began to take my vision, "goodbye..."
(Back to 3rd person POV)
Then he was gone, and sadness took over them all. Each asking themselves, "why, why dint he want us to work as a team to defeat him?"
Roughly four days later they buried him on a hillside near the water. They then read his will; which was. contained in the letter given to Marinette. In the will it stated that everything he owned was to go to Marinette Dupain-Cheng, which, to everyone's surprise, contained $50 billion (translated into euros), as well as several properties.
Nothing could truly comfort Marinette, though. The death of someone so close to her filled her with sadness and rage.
Every couple days, however, she would go and visit his grave.
One day a package came in the mail for her, signed from him the day befor he died. It was a book, a rather large one, and with it came a letter. The letter said,
"Dear Marinette,
If your reading this then I have passed, but I want to give you something before I do. I know that I never finished telling you my story, so I wrote it out for you. I know I'm not the best speller so if you want to proofread it you can." The letter continued in a way that managed to comforted her. And so she started reading, and proofread the entire book from start to finish.
And this was how the great Cursed Miraculous died....
