Chapter 31 (EDITED)

pack Meeting

"wait, so the meeting takes place in a secret location?" I ask putting my shoes on

Andrés was leaning against the door watching me impatiently " there's an ancient  cave that once belonged to my family,  south from here."

my eyes widen " your family had their own cave?" I ask surprised,

I really shouldn't be surprised though especially when it comes to Andrés, after everything I've learned so far.

"well it belonged to the Velazquez children,  my siblings and I found the cave when we were young. We used practice spells and magic until-"

He pauses and glances at my feet "how long does it take to put shoes on?"

I get off the couch and walk to him, jeez what happened to the kind Andrés? his mood switched so fast! maybe it's because he doesn't like to talk about his siblings.

"until what?" I ask wanting to hear the rest of the story.

" it's a long walk to the cave" is his answer

I don't know how long we've been walking but it felt like an hour, Andrés was walking in front of me, I was behind him because no matter how much I kicked my feet I could not catch up to him.

when he said it was a long walk, he wasn't kidding.

we were now deep into the woods, it was so dark that I could barely see where I was headed.

I don't know what laid in these woods last time I was here I got attacked by rogues, but I am not worried with Andrés here, I know nothing could happen.

"try to keep up!"

"huh?"

I'm so focused on trying to keep up with the alpha that I accidentally step on a slippery leaf that makes me go sliding down.

the loud thud sound of me hitting the ground catches Andrés attention and he comes running to my side.

"are you alright?" he asks concerned as he pulls on my arm,

"did you hurt anything?" the Alpha asks once I'm standing on both of my feet

my ass is wet and yea I'm embarrassed "just my dignity" I frown wiping the back of my pants

Andrés slowly backs away and stares at me like I grew two heads "what?" I ask feeling uncomfortable under his stare.

"get on" he says and crouches a little

this time it's my turn to look at him like he grew two heads, he will not carry me! he will not give me a piggyback like I am a five-year-old.

"I rather walk," I say crossing my arms

"just get on, you're slowing me down" he growls annoyed

"no" I shake my head

"fine" he grunts

"thank you-WAIT STOP!! I CAN WALK!"

Andrés wraps an arm around my back before he hosts me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

He starts to walk ignoring me struggling to get out of his hold, but after a few minutes, I get tired of hitting his back and decide to stop.

"this cave is where the night-walkers spend their day" the alpha speaks after a while of silence.

I always wondered where they went.

I don't speak, I feel like if I do Andrés will stop talking like he did before, so I wait for him to continue.  He  surprises me at the what he says next. "our mating ceremony will take place there too"

I raise my brows " at a cave?"

the mating ceremony is basically a wedding, every pack has a different tradition but basically when a wolf finds their mate before they mate, a mating ceremony needs to happen. 

The pack brings the girl presents, the alpha and luna bless the couple and the whole day is spent celebrating  said couple.

"I know it's not extravagant" Andrés sighs

" no, I don't care for that," I tell him

I would have loved for my parents and friends to be there but I guess this is my new family now if things do work out between Andrés and I, I don't think I will see them again.

"  we're here" Andrés says then slowly puts me down

I turn around to find an illuminated path, the trees around it spiked into the night sky and towered over us, I didn't see a cave but I start to walk knowing Andrés was following behind me.

At the end of the path was the cave, it was built into a buddy brown rock of the cliff, the entrance was uneven and arranged in a way that it was difficult for others to see.

I continue to lead and once I enter the cave it's dark and there's the sound of a waterfall from the distance... I can't tell if it's inside the cave or it's near here.

I keep walking until flaming torches light the dark tunnel " the meeting is in session" Teivel says

"I'm sure you're all aware why the meeting was called forward,"  the alpha continues  standing forward,

everyone nods, all the alphas were here including Ibenez.

"starting now, Amma vote will count" Andrés speaks,

that surprises me because I wasn't expecting that, I thought I just changed his mind about voting.

i look around the circle there was no sign of  Cameron or Iris I wonder why.  even Dave was here. I turn to Chris who was beside me  " are Cameron and iris on their way?" I ask

"No, they're not a nightwalker, only Night-walkers are allowed to vote " the boy smiles.

does that mean I am now a nightwalker?

why did that make me kind of happy?

"for those in favour of Ibenez staying and not being harmed, raise your hand" Samael speaks

I do, I put my hand up straight away looking around to see who else was siding with me. Turns out I was the only one." Dave" I frown " he's your mate"

If everyone votes no, then he is going to die, what kind of person wants to kill their soulmate especially if they have a choice. Dave doesn't look at me.

"for those against it" Samael speaks up and raises his hand, my heart stops beating as i stare at Andrés 'please don't raise your hand, please' i mentally beg.

 after a while, everyone puts their hand down. thank goddess he didn't raise his hand!

"Alpha," Samael nods towards Andrés

Andrés eyes catch mine, his emotions were closed off as usual and i have no idea what is about to  happen but I have a little hope after our talk.

" I vote against it" he speaks.

what? he- i thought- after i begged him not to?

I hold back the tears and glare at him, he looks away shaking his head slightly.

" unlike old tradition, Ibenez will not be harmed but he can not stay."

wait what?

"that's outrageous Alpha! he will out us!" Dave roars with anger

" I will make sure he doesn't remember anything"

"I liked our old tradition, you know the one where we kill anyone who crosses our borders" Naois scoffs

"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU LIKE!" Andrés roars

In a second he is in front of Naios and Dave, the other alphas standing beside them bow their head and take a step back, I would too Andrés looked like he was about to shift.

He angrily grabs Naois neck and snaps it  the other direction, the alpha falls to the ground.

i gasp, afraid of what an angry Andrés will do next. He turns and growls loudly.

"I AM THE ALPHA! DON'T FORGET THAT"
