Hi, my name is Nyx Green ,I have black hair, tan skin, and dark blue eyes,and this is part of my story. It all started in the attic....

I hated my attic. It was full of spiders, cobwebs, and I tried to avoid it as much as possible. I remembered when I loved the attic, when it was clean and full of light.... "Stop thinking about that, you know you'll cry if you think about it", I scolded myself. "It just makes you think of Mom." I couldn't stop the tears from falling, though. My mother had died last year. I hit my foot on a oak chest and it jarred me out of my thoughts. I stopped and looked down at it. "When did this get here," I muttered to myself, wondering. Curiosity won though, and soon I felt myself opening the chest.

As I opened the chest, a flash of light came from deep within. Frowning, I decided it was nothing. Looking inside, my eyes caught a glimmer of light. Carefully picking it up, I found it was a necklace. It looked like a little globe with thick little gold leaves creating its shape, while it glowed a dark lavender inside it. With it there was a dark purple, almost black, leather jacket, a black long sleeved T-shirt, a pair of black leggings, some black sneakers, a blue backpack , some black gloves with claws on the fingers, and a note. As I read the note, I felt my eyes tear up. It was from mom.

This is what it said, "My dearest Nyx, if you're reading this, it means I'm gone. This necklace is our family secret. Your father doesn't know. The necklace contains some of the most powerful energy in the 9 worlds. It contains the Essence of the Moon. Now that you've found it, and now that I'm gone, the Creatures of Darkness will find you and try to hurt you. I know you're confused, but someone will be coming to answer your questions. His name is Ash. He and his friends will protect you, and train you in how to use the necklace. Good bye, Little Night, I love you"

I didn't have time to cry. All of a sudden, there was a loud crash and these creatures that looked like shadows where there. I screamed. Shattered glass flew everywhere. One of the creatures lunged at me, and all of a sudden, I wasn't alone anymore. A huge black wolf was standing in front of me, but strangely, I wasn't scared of it. It felt comforting, having him there. He cast away the shadows, and looked at me comfortingly. All of a sudden, a name popped into my head, "Shade," I said quietly. He dipped his head in acknowledgment, and disappeared into the necklace that I had subconsciously put around my neck. I sat there, what happened just sinking in. That's when they came. A boy walked in, he had brown hair, amber eyes, and tan skin with a light dusting of freckles. He crouched down and said, "Hi, my name is Ash. You must be Nyx. Now, are you coming or not?"

I looked at him and said sarcastically, "Yeah, I'm just gonna sit here and wait to be attacked again. Of course I'm coming!"

He smirked and said, " You're gonna fit in well." I just huffed in response.

"Do you know how to ride a horse?" A girl with red hair asked.

"No," I said, "Why?"

"Oh, you'll find out. I'm Rayven, by the way. I think we'll be good friends," She said with a grin.
