Chapter 6
Jason woke up feeling well rested, though he had no memory of what happened in the battle. He still couldn't believe what he had done. Taking a monster ten feet tall in single combat wasn't expected from a three year old. He still wasn't sure what this place was all about and why supernatural creatures decided to attack this place. But he felt obliged to protect this place.
For days, he had been expecting to be called out. Finally it happened. He had been summoned, but he had no idea why. If they were going to kick him out because he trespassed, he hoped he could atleast steal the jellybeans before leaving. Jason walked right up to the leaders and told them everything he knew which wasn't much. The leaders were towering over him, but he stared right back at them.
"Pra- aytors, I am Jason Grace. I need-"
The first one cut him off, "Kid we just don't take in anyone. You have to possess credentials, letters, know your parentage."
The second one argued," He's just a kid! He saved some legionnaires a few days back and this is how you repay him? He saved my life. You did not possess the courage to stand up to the challenge. It would've been only a matter of time before even you were overwhelmed. I will consult the Augur and make him join the legion."
"Celia? I need you here," he said.
Jason watched as a new lady walked in. Another person to be suspicious of. As he looked at her he noticed black markings on her hand and a funny looking thing with strings in the middle. He looked at her suspiciously.
"Praetors?"
"Celia, I need you to figure out his parentage," the praetors said in unison.
Celia looked pretty harmless, but her eyes betrayed her character. She had piercing eyes and stood a little taller than the praetors. She held a knife in her hand as if Jason would be just another interesting target she could play with. She narrowed her eyes.
"This runt huh?" she asked.
"This runt saved our lives. He did it with a lot less damage than you would've"
She looked at Jason. She closed her eyes deep in concentration and looked back at her praetors in shock.
Now Jason was spellbound. He knew it was something very important. Anything that scared her... definitely not light. Besides, he didn't fail to notice the nervous looks others seemed to give him.
"What happened?" the older praetor, Hank asked.
"This young boy here is quite... interesting," she said," A son of lord Jupiter."
