Chapter 1: The Storm

(Coast off of Haregeon - Nighttime)

"Are you really sure that we should be doing this on the night of a new moon." A young man with scraggly brown hair complained. He and his more muscular counterpart hauling a net full of fish from the depths. "I mean we are way too close to Galuna Island's current. With all the things that have been happening for the past few years and storms suddenly appearing to swallow ships. That rookie is still below deck and the captain is still in a trance!"

"Calm down Rick, the captain will let us know the moment that something happens. He usually is never wrong." The more muscular man said as they pulled the net aboard and started to sort through the fish.

Jabbing a finger at an older man with graying hair in a blue captains uniform, staring at a lacrima orb with his eyes glazed over.

The captain was one of the few mages in Haregeon Town, a simple practitioner of Divination Magic.

He couldn't see the future, but had practiced the craft enough to be an expert at predicting were the fish were going to be at their most plentiful and any sudden storms out at sea. His prediction rate of coming true was about 7/10, but had enough experience that most of the fishing crews in town heeded his advice if he saw a good haul or a storm could be approaching.

Couldn't see everything, but his predictions were considered good advice by the other fishing crews.

So when he asked a friend to borrow an extra pair of hands for a bountiful night haul, they got the rookie.

Well he was at least right about the bounty, yet the rookie went below deck after throwing the net back in one last time. Said he had to use the bathroom, yet was not back.

"I know I know, just the sooner we get away from the Isle of Demons the better ain't I right James." Rick said, getting his crew-mate to shake his head with a frown. "I mean really-"

"Quit your complaining and save it for your wife! There will be more than enough Jewels from this haul alone we won't have to worry about going back out to sea for a while, perhaps a week of shore leave without going back and forth every day!" James shouted off, cutting Rick off.

The scraggly hair man only scoffed at that.

"Why don't you safe that attitude for your wife than." Rick snapped back.

"She's been dead now Rick. It's been six months." James said nonchalantly, getting Rick to pause in sorting through the fish.

Oh, right she did...

"I should not have said that?" Rick said awkwardly, trying to look away.

"Yes, you shouldn't have." James said without any care.

Rick quickly tried to think of anyway to get rid of the awkward atmosphere.

"Will you two quit it with the pillow talk and save it for when we come ashore! Whatever fish you two haven't sorted out, cast them back into the drink swimming or not!" The captain said as he shoved the lacrima back into his coat.

Quickly helping the two of them cast the net back into the water, both of them more than familiar with what the captain had possibly seen.

"How big of a storm is it captain?" Rick asked, his voice filled with dread.

"Big enough that it will engulf Haregeon, in the next few minutes it will be nothing but choppy waves and thunderstorms spanning the entire sea!" The captain said, getting both men to look pale.

They were expecting possibly some kind of storm, just not one of this magnitude.

"So stop lollygagging and get to work!" The captain shouted, snapping the two men to snap out of their thoughts and immediately get to work securing their haul.

The captain proceeded to raise the anchor, taking about a minute as he noticed the clouds starting to gather up above them.

"It's approaching a little quicker, but we still have sometime." The captain said before turning to James. "Go below deck and figure out why hasn't  that rookie has come back up yet!"

The larger man complied while the anchor finally back on board, the captain rushed to the helm and began to steer the ship back towards the direction of Haregeon. With Rick's help they soon began to sail just as the rumbling of thunder sounded off in the distance.

For a few minutes the fishing boat carried off in silence as the clouds began to blot out the stars, the roar of thunder drawing near, and the waves started to grow choppy.

"Captain that damned rookie is fast asleep, nothing I could do to wake him up." Until James came back from below deck with that news.

Rick gained a sour look on his face while the captain let out an irritable sigh.

"Why I ought to-" "Leave it Rick, the pup is not worth the effort." The captain said, silencing Rick's tirade.

"Are you sure about this captain, usually you would be chomping at the bite to get to him?" James inquired.

"Aye, I would. But we need all available hands on deck to make it through this storm. If the lightning and waves won't wake him up just leave him down below, just make sure to secure him so the pup doesn't accidentally crack his head open or something. Just don't throw him in with the fish, will be a waste of Jewels otherwise. He's from Ahab's crew, let him sort this pup out until either he straightens out or becomes a landlubber." The captain said, getting both of his crew members to nod.

No one in Haregeon dared to cross that man and he certainly held pride in how he operated his crew. The rookie lied and was currently asleep instead of helping.

So no sympathy to him.

They were more focused on trying to navigate through the storm if it would be as bad as their captain predicted.

(An hour later)

It was worse, way worse.

While all three of them were experienced sailors, rarely had they seen the sea this rough before.

Waves constantly rocking the boat, threatening to capsize it every now and than. The storm clouds completing blotting out the stars. The only lights were from the fishing boat and from lightning flashing above. The thunder booming and clashing against the roaring of the waves, both sounds nearly deafening.

And this was what the captain described as it calming down.

Besides the light from the boat, no one could exactly tell which direction they were going. Even with years at sea it was easy to get lost in storms like this especially in how the current could change. So James was currently keeping an eye out for Haregeon's lighthouse incase that was the issue.

Rick was helping the captain keeping the ship a sail as they navigated the treacherous seas.

The rookie was still asleep with neither member of the crew were sure how the heck he hadn't even stirred a bit.

Honestly James was both impressed and annoyed, mainly the later as the rookie was still in the warm below deck while the rest of them where in heavy coats to protect them against the gales and freezing rain.

Welp perhaps it was best to leave him down below, best not to risk the rookie catching hypothermia if he was apparently such a heavy sleeper.

Still James noted that the storm was now starting to calm down even more. The waves were still choppy and the lightning above was still a great risk, yet the fear of the boat capsizing was quickly dwindling.

The fear was still there, but it was becoming less likely a problem.

For another few minutes James kept an eye out to sea, the waves shaking the boat as they continued to crash against it and the lightning lighting up the sky with less frequency. Looking like the storm was going to die down a little bit.

"Really looks like it could settle down." James grumbled as he looked out from the bow.

If the captain continued on with the course they should have at least been able to glimpse the light from Haregeon's lighthouse by now even on a stormy night like tonight.

So he kept his eyes peel for anything beyond the lightning above before he thought he glimpsed something.

Pulling out a sextant he peered into the lacrima lens attached, zooming in to see what he thought. The light from Haregeon's lighthouse, they were slightly off course.

Taking a minute to adjust the sextant to where he saw the light was coming from, making sure to do a double check and make slight adjustments.

"Rick take over for a few minutes, we're off course!" James called out over the winds, Rick rushing forward with another sextant in hand.

James trecked over to the captain's cabin as he tried to navigate through to the storm the storm.

"Captain we are off slightly course from Haregeon, we are close enough to spot the light from the light house in this mess." James said.

"How much farther?" The captain inquired.

"Turn 15° on the port side, continuing straight from there and we should be able to see it through a lens soon enough." James said, getting the captain to nod as he turned the helm. Steering the boat in the direction of the sextant.

A few minutes later soon all three of the crew members were able to spot the light of the lighthouse.

The captain let out a sigh of relief, just a little bit longer until they were in the clear. Just needed to make sure they were in the clear first.

"James check if the pup is finally awake, if he is throw him on the deck with a coat." The captain said gruffly.

"You won't here me complaining." James said, starting to walk out of the cabin.

Until a loud screeching noise ripped through the air, drowning off the noise of the storm.

Both men covered their ears as that very noise drowned off their very thoughts before it stopped. And a blue glow started started to emerge from the starboard side of the boat.

"James get down on the deck now!" The captain order, his crew member obeying without any complaining and exiting the cabin.

Both he and Rick pulled out their sextons and noticed a blue streak among the storm clouds, only that it wasn't any lightning.

"Have you ever seen anything like this?!" Rick asked James.

"No, go grab the harpoons just incase!" James ordered, to which Rick hastily implied as the larger crew member looked back through the lens.

Whatever the streak was quickly began to fade away into the clouds. But not before some dark blur of some kind was shot out of the streak. Crashing into the waves next to the ship as the blue streak finally faded away.

Rick handed James a harpoon and the two of them raised them, with James grabbing a lantern to see if they could spot what that was.

Only to jump back was two shadowy tendrils shot out of the waves, latching onto the side of the boat!

Both men jabbed their harpoons into the shadowy tendrils, but the weapons only seemed to pass through the tendrils as a pair of clawed hands began to form at the end of them. Digging into the railing of the boat. They continued to try and stab at them, but the harpoons did absolutely nothing as the shadowy arms began to solidify.

"What the hell are these things!" Rick grumbled out as James took another stab at them, bringing the lantern pretty close to the arm.

Quickly causing it to retract and break apart somewhat.

Noticing this he shoved the lantern to the arm and it broke apart.

"Some kind of shadow magic, shove this close to it!" James said, handing the lantern to Rick who pressed it against the arm. The remaining arm quickly began to break apart.

They kept their harpoons raised and lantern in hand as another pair of tendrils latched onto the railing, quickly destroying one of them. The other tendril shot up further up the boat as something began to climb up the side of the boat.

James raised the lantern to burn the shadowy arm and raised his harpoon to impale whatever it was that created them.

Only for his eyes to widened in surprise at what he saw, a similar expression shared by the young  man he was facing. At least the lone bright blue eye he could see through a mess of white hair before he fell back into the ocean.

"Shit!" Jams cursed out as he threw down the harpoon and ran to the back of the boat.

"You have got to be kidding me, what was he thinking!" Rick said as he saw another tendril attach itself to the boat. Now seeing what he could only assume to be a mage out here in the middle of the sea.

Honestly the splash of red he glimpsed on his floating was the only way he could tell that he was out there amid the crashing waves.

"Don't care, just keep the harpoon ready." James said as he threw a life preserver out into the sea. Gripping the rope as another shadow tendril extended.

He didn't have to pull much as the tendrils solidified and snaked up further up the rope as the mage got onto the life preserver. Quickly drawing in closer and soon grabbed the railing of the boat.

"James what did you just bring aboard my ship!?" The captain bark from the cabin.

"A mage that was lost at see I think!" James bellowed back as he and Rick took a step back, harpoons in hand as the mage clambered onto the boat.

Before promptly leaning over the railing and emptying their stomach of seawater. Something the both of them were more than familiar with from experience.

It was never easy to get used to it.

After another few moments the mage heaved before straightening up and looking at the two crew members with a tilted head.

He looked human, although given the races that inhabited Earthland appearances could be deceiving especially with such deathly pale skin or a pair of bright blue eyes that seemed to glow and the pupil being pure white and slitted like a cat. Honestly it felt like he was starting into their very souls just be glancing at them.

It was kind of unnerving.

The mage looked like a shorter young man who was soaked to the bone, long white hair matted down by the saltwater and wearing a black hooded cloak with red spikes along the collar. Whatever other clothing he had seemed to have been torn to shreds from what they could observe.

Before either man could ask anything from the mage, his form began to sink into the ground.

Rick tried to rush forward with the lantern, but the mage sunk into his own shadow. Passing by them!

Both men chased after the shadow on the deck, taking turnings trying to swing the lantern at it. Unlike the tendrils it didn't seem to bother this shadow, only irritate it.

James raised his harpoon in frustration, only to find it blocked by the captain's lacrima orb.

And the stern face of him glaring at his crew, a lantern also in hand.

"C-Captain-""I don't want to hear it, I'll deal with this before you put a hole in my ship! Now take the helm! Rick stick with me!" The captain ordered, with James hurriedly placing down the harpoon and rushing to the cabin. The captain levitated the lacrima back to him as the two of them resumed chasing the shadow.

It didn't take long for them to catch up to the shadow, but it sunk below deck.

The captain charged below followed by Rick as they followed the shadow's trail as it picked up speed, eventually reaching the room where they had left the rookie.

All the times they had seen him through the storm, the rookie had been sound asleep and nearly any signs of discomfort to their confusion on how someone could not awake at all so quickly. But that wasn't the case now.

Instead he was tossing and turning in his sleep, looking panicked as his arms flailed as if to defend against something as the mage raised up from his shadow.

Rick threw the harpoon, but a shadow hand emerged and caught the weapon as the captain slammed his lacrima onto the back of his head.

"You idiot what did I just tell James and you threw it at him!" The captain reprimanded Rick who cowered a little, before both man stilted as the mage shifted his gaze onto them.

Briefly tilting his before to their surprise the shadowy hand sunk back into the mage's own, sucking in the harpoon along with it. The mage's visible eye turned a shade of red and turned back to the rookie.

Placing his hand on the rookie's head, the man groaning as the mage proceeded to lift a shadowy version of the rookie out of his body.

"Let him go!" The captain barked, drawing a knife as he approached the mage.

Only to be blocked by more shadow tendrils springing from the walls, wrapping around the captain's body and limbs. He struggled to get out as both he and Rick tried to burn out the shadows with their lanterns to a limited success,

The mage raised a single finger, as if to tell them to wait before the shadow version of the rookie collapsed into a large sphere. The rookie to their surprise stoped groaning and in fact seemed just as peaceful as before. Even looking like he was finally waking up.

And to their surprise when the mage crushed the sphere, it broke apart into a bunch of pink clouds that flooded the room before being inhaled by the mage.

"Captain please tell me I'm not dreaming?" Rick asked as the remaining shadow bindings uncoiled and sunk back into the walls. Both watching as the pink clouds were fully inhaled by the mage who let out a content sigh, his eyes turning blue.

"You are not and I have no idea either." The captain said, figuring that Rick would ask.

The best he could guess was perhaps some form of Lost Magic, he had heard tales of mages who practiced some could eat elements. He didn't believe it, but there might be some truth to in's rumors.

"I would have known if you did..." The mage said, getting the both of them before facing the rookie. He know began to sit up as he finally awoke.

"They're gone, they are all gone..." The rookie said groggily, yawning  and stretching up. "It was all just a nightmare-"

"Sorry about that." The mage said, unintentionally cutting off the rookie as he looked at him in fear and panic. "Didn't mean to-"

"Get away from me!" The rookie shouted as he shot up and pushed the mage aside, making a break for it.

Before running face first into the captain's lacrima. Soon finding the man glaring at him face to face.

"C-Captain!" The rookie stuttered.

"I don't want to hear about it or your beauty sleep turning into a nightmare you fool! You abandoned your shift early and slept through one hell of a storm, nothing we could do would wake your sorry ass up! Consider yourself lucky that I'm just tossing you out into the storm without a coat and we are close to Haregeon! I'm going to have Ahab put you through the ringer!" The captain bellowed, scaring the rookie as he gripped his shoulders. With the rookie paling at the mention of his boss.

He knew that he was screwed tomorrow...

"I-I didn't-" "I don't want to hear your sorry excuses!" The captain barked before he shoved the rookie to Rick who grabbed him. "Rick put that pup to work on the deck and work him until we reach port! Your job is to make sure he doesn't rest for a single moment, he has already gotten plenty of it already!"

"As much as I would gladly do so, are you sure that I should leave you alone with him?" Rick asked, pointing at the mage.

Who right now was looking curiously at the lacrima orb, tapping a finger against it repeated.

"Oh I can handle this pup now." The captain said with a chuckle as he levitated the lacrima a little to the left, with the mage following to continue to look at it. "As for the other one, I suggest you throw him onto the deck before I can get to you for thinking that it was a good idea to throw a harpoon inside my ship!"

"On it captain!" Rick said shakily before grabbing the rookie and dragging him along. "Come here you!"

After seeing his crew member drag and yell the rookie, the captain just sighed and shook his head.

Looks like either Ahab will either give him a drink or give him a headache for finding a potential bad apple in the barrel.

 And speaking of headaches.

"Sorry that rotten pup was giving you a bad time. All you did was wake him up from a nightmare...that's what that spell was for right?" The captain asked, getting the mage to shrug as he inspected the lacrima with both hands.

"Dream Eater and yes...I think so anyway. I caused his nightmare anyway, didn't mean to anyway...at least I think so." The mage said, tapping a finger against his chin in thought.

He was pretty sure he didn't mean to do so. Yet he could literally feel the man's nightmare as soon as he woke up, drawing him to the boat. That and he was struggling not to drown and the ship was his best chance to not to.

Meanwhile the captain eyed the mage as he levitated back the lacrima orb into his hands. So they were dealing with a mage with shadow magic and possible limited control of some kind of dream magic. He had never heard of the later, but it would probably be a good idea to sleep no where near him.

And there was something else about him the captain couldn't put his finger on just yet. Yet something else came first.

"I see, now than can you give my harpoon back. Sorry that Rick threw it at you, that fool should've had the common sense not to." The captain grumbled out, getting the mage to shrug.

"So that's what it's called. Here you go." The mage said, the shadow below him opening up to reveal the harpoon slowly rising from the shaft up to the tip.

The captain grabbed the harpoon as the shadow closed up, before noticing that it was covered with sea water.

Given the current state of the storm outside it wasn't too much of an issue...except the floor of the room was partially flooded as well.

"You must have a lot of sea water in there than?" The captain said as he set the harpoon down, getting the mage to nod.

"Yes, I tried to use it not to sink out there...wasn't really that helpful." The mage said, before looking down. "Sorry about that."

The captain noticed him looking a little green and shuddered, a common reaction he had seen to plenty of new sailors around these waters. It was easy enough to accidentally get swept up into the waters in storms like this.

"Been meaning to replace the carpeting here anyway, it was been starting to become shitty." The captain said before pulling two flasks from his coat. "Here you are going to need this."

The mage slowly reaching to the flask on the left, only for the captain to pull it back with a chuckle. Shoving the other flask towards him.

"Sorry but this flask is for my grog. And I make it for myself and even with honey it is too strong for ya pup. Especially after all that sea water, it would really make you more skin and bones than you already are." The captain said as the mage opened the flask. "Now only take sips out of it, otherwise you will only be adding more seawater to the floor."

He nodded and took a quick sip of the flask and the captain took a swig from his grog.

"It's bitter." Was all the mage said before taking another sip.

"Flat ginger ale, really helps to have one some on ya just incase you wind up in the drink." The captain said, getting the mage to nod.

"Thank you." He said.

"Your welcome pup, now if you don't mind me asking what the hell were you doing in the middle of the sea right now?" The captain inquired.

It would seem like the mage currently posed no threat to him or his crew. Couldn't be too sure later, but if he tried something Haregeon he would have a whole town to deal with and the Rune Knights stationed nearby.

If things turned out too bad they could send someone to request aide from Fairy Tail given how close Magnolia was.

Still he wanted to know why a mage would fall out of the sky in the middle of this storm while out at sea?

He could see the mage tap his fingers against his head as he took another sip before shrugging.

"No clue, I don't remember anything. Literally." The mage said with a shrug, almost getting the captain to spit out his grog.

Okay he wasn't expecting that.

"Seriously nothing?" The captain asked incredulously.

"Nothing." He said while taking a sip from the ginger ale.

"Not even a name." The captain said with a slack jaw.

"Nope." The mage said.

"Would have thought that you would be freaking out by this pup?" The captain asked incredulously.

"Oh I am, but I've mainly been spent all the time  I've been awake trying just not to drown.  I think that I'm just trying not to at the moment." The mage said with a shudder.

"Noted." The captain said before taking a large swig from his grog.

He had heard plenty of stranger things from the pub, but he through that they were mainly just rumors. Yet he supposed there was always a grain of truth to them.

Even he had a handful of strange occurrences at see.

Hell he once anchored his boat on what he thought was a rocky island for maintenance during his younger years. Only for that to turn out to be a giant sea monster that spat acid.

Nearly got his boat sunk and still haven't regained full feeling in his arms from the burns decades later.

So an amnesiac mage that could probably go into shock wasn't that far fetched, but one falling from the sky was something else. At least he would have something new to tell the lads at the pub if they made it back.

"So than mage, do you really remember anything?" The captain asked.

The mage tried to think about it, getting him to wince as he recalled a flash of pink and a lot of pain. Quickly shaking his head to clear those thoughts.

"A lot of pain, falling, and than drowning. Besides a spell name or two as you called it and some pieces of pieces like causing nightmares, nothing." The mage said as he took another sip. "What is a mage."

"Someone who can use magic, just like the two of us. Like you can use those shadows." The captain said, getting the mage to blink.

"Really, I've just been thinking about it and the shadows do the rest." He said, his shadow shifting onto the wall and made a tapping motion. Causing the sound of knocking to reverberate against the wall.

"You must be one heck of a mage for it to be instinctual." The captain said as he took another swig.

Normally he wouldn't be thankful for something like amnesia on anyone, but if he was a dark mage that much control of shadow magic if even instinctual was possibly a major danger to Haregeon. At least the mage seemed reasonable enough right now.

"Probably, doesn't have much of a use right now." The mage said with a shrug.

"Too true pup, too true." The captain said with a nod. "We should be making it back to land within the hour and I suppose that I can let you hunker down for the night. But what do you have planned next?"

"No idea, literally. I suppose I can try to learn more about well...everything. Maybe my memories could come back or not." The mage said, before to the captain's surprise he smiled a little. The first time he has seen it. "Honestly it sounds kind of exciting, just learning about what's out there. Maybe I could learn more about me, or maybe not. Still there should be so much to learn out there."

"I think I know that feeling all too well pup, I was much the same when I was a wee lad! Learning how to navigate the seas!" The captain said with a laugh and grin, slapping his arm on the mages back and nearly knocking him over. "Even with divination you can never truly tell what you could find out at see. Certainly wasn't expecting to pick you up. Perhaps you were the adventurous type before...well..."

"The memory loss, maybe. Yet it does sound exciting, though I think I would rather avoid exploring out here for a while." The mage said with a shudder.

"Life out here on the waves is not for everyone pup, considering your first experience I don't blame you." The captain said before looking between the flask and the mage taking a sip on ginger ale.

Considering he didn't have any memories and as he said they could return any any moment perhaps it would be a bad idea to let the mage adrift out on land.

He could be potentially a dark mage or since he didn't know anything could get into trouble.

Especially since his own crew unknowing nearly tried to leave him in the drink while he was drowning and nearly got impaled by a harpoon that was truly a possibility. Could just ship him up to Fairy Tail or any other guild...but once again with the memory loss possibly a bad idea.

He had a friend at the pub in the Rune Knights, perhaps he could get some help to find out who he was from his description alone. Might be a long shot, but better than nothing.

And still the mage was too much of a unknown just to leave him alone...

To hell with this.

The captain started to chug down the rest of the grog before sealing the flask.

No way he was going to make this choice without being a little buzzed. Besides he trusted James at the helm than Rick.

"You can stay with us, for a little while anyway." The captain said, getting the mage to look at him curiously. "Just for a few weeks or until you can figure out what to do."

"Really?" The mage asked with a tilted head, getting the captain to nod.

"Whichever can come first. But don't think that I will let you stay there for free pup! You will earn you keep, after getting some rest tomorrow. After that every day I expect you to either work for me or running some errands around town, that way you can gain a better understanding of how things work here in Fiore. But I will be keeping an eye on you, so if you try to pull anything or overstay your welcome so help me I will boot you out of Haregeon myself. Understood?" The captain said with an inquisitive glance.

To which he nodded without hesitation.

"I understand, don't really have much of an option anyway." The mage said, getting the captain to grunt as he looked over the mage.

Scanning him over before focusing on the massive mane of white hair coving most of his face and going down his back before nodding.

"Exactly, I will have high expectations for you Finnean." The captain said, getting the mage to tilt his head.

"Finnean?" The mage asked.

"Going to need something to call you and with you mane it certainly fits. You definitely need a haircut." The captain said as the now named Finnean began to inspect his hair. "You don't like it?"

"No I do...it just feels strange." Finnean said with a shrug, getting the captain to nod.

"You could always change it when you remember your own name or now if you don't like it." The captain said, getting Finnean to nod with a small smile.

"It's alright. Just will take some time to get used to it. Still thank you for it and everything." Finnean said, getting the captain to grunt.

But looking at his face, he was trying to hide a small smile.

"Think nothing of it, going to need to call you something after all. And you definitely need a hair cut and some new clothes, but consider those are the only things free from me tomorrow." The captain said, getting Finnean to nod as he took another sip.

Only to cough and splutter as the boat was rocked by a rather big wave. Getting the captain to pat his back before the boat was realigned.

"Maybe take a second and try to lie down, I'm going to go check on things really quick." The captain said as he picked up the harpoon. "Try and get some rest, you should be on solid ground soon enough."

"Hopefully it is better than this." Finnean groaned out, getting the captain to chuckle before he could move back to the deck.

Finnean sighed before doing as the captain said, lying back as the boat continued to shake.

Here he was in the middle of the sea, with absolutely no idea of who he was or anything at all and nearly drowned within the first few minutes of memory.

Not a pleasant experience, but it wasn't all that bad.

He had a name and a place to stay temporarily before heading out into the world. Something that excited him a little.

Sure he might be able to remember more about himself in time or find out how he got here, but if Finnean was honest with himself the prospect didn't really bother him all that much. Perhaps he had a good life, perhaps he had a bad life.

Yet currently it didn't matter, there was so many things to do and learn about. How often do you have the chance to do that, not knowing anything at all and so much to explore. Perhaps just once in a lifetime, to start at the very beginning.

There was so much to do, yet Finnean could wait it was probably better to learn as much as he could in this Haregeon Town the captain said they would be docking at soon.

Would be much better than being out at sea. He didn't remember what being on solid ground was like, but it had to be better than this.

Finnean let out a sigh and a small smile, a tendril shooting out of his shadow and wrapping around the flask. Tilting it back to take a sip of ginger ale before looking up at the ceiling.

There was so many things to do and to learn about out there. Perhaps he had been adventurous before ending up in his current predicament, still no matter what the thought of seeing more of what lies ahead only excited him.

And it will only be a matter of time and some learning before he begin to take his first true steps into the wider world ahead.

Something he couldn't wait to embark on when the time came.

(Chapter 1 end.)

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.

Just an introduction to Finnean and his arrival into Earthland. He is practically a blank slate at the moment, although he seems eager to learn more about the world ahead. Not really caring about what his past might be.

Shaking up the formula a little, seen so many amnesiacs caring about their past or finding who they are. Finnean just wants to explore more of the world and see what it has to offer, although he has the foresight that staying in Haregeon will make it easier to traverse Earthland when he has the time.

That doesn't mean that Finnean has some questions about himself, but they are on the back burner. Putting the pieces together as over time some of his memories will return and what and who he was before.

And just an aside, options for more magic especially technique names and move suggestions are open.

Seriously looking at Darkrai in the movie, Tobias's  infamous one, Shadows of Almia, Explorers, PokePark 2, Pokken, and just in the mainline games establishes them as a serious threat. Kind of a glass canon and slow learner but the range and power make it a heavy hitter among legendaries that aren't god like. So any suggestions are welcome.

Anyway next chapter will be three weeks after Finnean was found, being more open, have gained more control over his magics, along with knowledge on his other current capabilities, a memory or two, and having gained a handle on Bad Dreams as not to plague the town with horrific nightmares. Planning on leave Haregeon soon before he winds up meeting two people and a cat that will change the course of his life. Hope you all will enjoy the chapter whenever it comes out...which will be whenever I feel like.

So until next time, ciao!
