Emily's POV

It was so funny when Noah turned around, I was laughing so hard my laugh turned into snorts. Noah was trying hard to look angry which obviously failed.

"I'm sorry, it's just--"

"Yeah, Yeah, not funny" he said.

I smiled at him and turned my attention back to class.

Okay, class, the teacher said, you have a project due 3 weeks from today. Make sure to read the syllabus I'm passing out right now to ensure you get a good grade on this project. This counts as a major grade so don't fool around. 

Yes Sir, the class chorused.

Of course, you will have partners to do this project, your partners name is on the top of the syllabus. If you have any questions please ask me.

I was anxiously waiting for the teacher to give me  my paper, I was trying to peek at Noah's but he wouldn't let me see.

"Wait, for yours." He told me

Finally the teacher gave me my paper, and my partner was Noah.

As I looked at Noah he flashed me a smile so bright it almost blinded me.

"So, partner, ready to work?"

Noah's POV

I had a gut feeling i was going to work with Emily, this project would be a piece of cake.

"Class, it's time to pack up, the bell is about to ring in 5 minutes." the teacher said

I saw by the flushed look on Emily's face that she was surprised I was her partner. 

As she went to pick her binder while I gathered my stuff, she dropped the binder and the contents from her pencil bag fell out. I immediately went to help her while other classmates just looked at her then resumed back to whatever their doing.

"You OK" I asked

"Yeah," she said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Almost finished there was one pencil left on the floor, we both reached to pick the pencil up and our hands brushed ever so slightly it left my skin tingling, I'm sure Emily felt it too because we both looked at each other at the same time. We were staring at each other for a bit longer when the bell rang.

She hurriedly grabbed the pencil from me and put it in her pencil bag.

"Thanks" she said.

"No problem"

We both headed out of class walking silently next to each other.
