Jungkook's Pov:

He is undeniably intelligent, a quality that only deepens my intrigue. As I observe him, there's a flicker of uncertainty in his gaze when it comes to his thoughts about me. It was a clear conflict within him; he was aware of my flirtations, yet his undeniable attraction was evident in the way his breath caught slightly, his body instinctively leaning toward me.
Sitting across from him, the air is thick with tension, highlighted by his irresistible scent that wraps around me like a velvety embrace, making it increasingly challenging to keep my composure. As I listened intently to his words, my imagination ran wild. I envision him on his knees, where he begs me to claim him repeatedly.
Yet, as I indulge in these thoughts, I battle against the very essence of my being. I am an Alpha—strong, commanding, and assertive. The facade of a Beta feels like a mask slowly wearing me down, forcing me into a role that feels foreign and restrictive, demanding a level of restraint that feels increasingly burdensome. I know that eventually, he will be mine, and the price I pay for this charade will be worthwhile.
As my thoughts drift, a low growl of frustration threatens to escape me when he stands, signaling the end of our meeting. Part of me longs to interject, to assert that no meeting concludes without my explicit say-so, but a glance at the clock catches my eye, and I can't help but smile.
Rising to my feet, I approach him with a charming smile, extending my hand. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Seokjin. I look forward to working with you as we find the perfect home." I suppress the urge to add "for us," knowing that the weight of that implication might frighten him—at least while I'm masquerading as a Beta. That's a domain reserved for when he meets me as an Alpha.
As he took my hand, I noticed how he swallowed, his smile betraying my effect on him. It's apparent, as it should be. I am his Alpha; even in this delicate guise, I possess the power to draw out his submission.
"I, too, look forward to working with you, JK. Once I have compiled a list of suitable homes for us to explore, my assistant will reach out to schedule those viewings. In the meantime, feel free to contact my assistant if you have any questions," he says, his tone shifting to one of professionalism as he withdraws his hand. He stands a little taller, placing his hands behind him in a poised manner that belies the underlying tension between us.
It was an imaginative sight. As I stood there, a coy smirk danced across my lips. My thoughts wandered to the moment when I could have his hands restrained, firmly clasped behind his back, a position that stirred both anticipation and delight within me. I didn't shy away from his gaze; I reveled in the electric connection we shared, eager for him to sense the depth of my desire. I craved his curiosity, hoping it would aid him in taking the bold step toward the path I envisioned for us.
He cleared his throat, a rich sound that cut through the atmosphere, shifting his weight from one leg to another. My eyes were drawn to the graceful sway of his hip, a captivating motion that took my breath away. I closed my eyes briefly, inhaling deeply, sensing it was time to leave his office. It felt as though he could read my thoughts dancing in my mind when he asked softly, "Would you like me to walk you out?"
"I would appreciate that, Seokjin. I'm not entirely sure I recall my way out from here." Watching him struggle to maintain his composure, I couldn't help but smile wider as his name rolled off my tongue. I was deliberate in my utterance, fully aware of the excitement it sparked within him. It was clear to me at that moment.
He was certainly mine.
He sauntered to the other side, deliberately veering away from me to reach the door, even though he could have easily maneuvered past without any fuss. I couldn't help but find the whole situation amusing, but I kept my expression neutral, pretending not to notice his little performance. As he swung the door open, he gestured for me to follow him. I complied while casting a glance at the time displayed on my smartwatch. A notification flashed, demanding my immediate focus, so I tapped on the screen.
"Wow, look what we have here, another handsome and captivating Omega, yet untouchable. What's your name, sweet prince?" a voice questioned, teasingly smooth yet laced with intrigue. Rather than looking at who had spoken, I remained focused on my watch and what I was doing.
A moment later, my focus shifted as I heard my Omega's voice shift to a firmer, more commanding tone. "Do you have an appointment? Are you here with a purpose?"
I couldn't help but admire his assertiveness. He was clearly not the type to wilt in the presence of just any Alpha, which was a refreshing change in a world that often expected otherwise. I wholeheartedly respected that attitude. After all, they are not me, so he should never feel the need to bow to them.
"I do have an appointment—"
Before he could finish his sentence, an interruption came from someone I recognized almost instantly. "Jin, ignore him. He's here for an appointment with me. I'll handle this," said Park Jimin with confidence. He turned his gaze toward the Alpha, who was none other than Kim Taehyung, his posture straightening as he put his hands on his hips.
Despite the tense circumstances, I couldn't help but admire how effortlessly charming he was. Jimin possessed a blend of cuteness and fierce loyalty that made it crystal clear why he and my Seokjin were inseparable.
The best friends seemed to share an unspoken bond, but even Jimin's fierce glare had little effect on Taehyung.
"I think you are mistaken," Taehyung asserted, looking at Jimin, a smug grin stretching across his face. His dark, penetrating gaze shifted from Jimin to my Seokjin, and how he did it made my blood boil. I observed in silent fury as his eyes swept over Seokjin's body, lingering just a moment too long. A low growl escaped my throat, my jaw clenching involuntarily as I stepped forward, my body reacting before my mind could catch up.
Taehyung, too, sensed the shift and smiled, leaning into Seokjin's space with an unwelcome audacity that increased my protective instincts. Seokjin instinctively stepped back, his back colliding with my chest, and I felt him freeze for a moment, tension radiating off him.
When he turned to look at me, fright flickered across his face, but relief washed over him as soon as he realized I was standing there. "I am so sorry," he murmured.
"It's okay, Seokjin. Why don't you let me take care of this?" I responded with a reassuring smile. Before he could voice his hesitation, I stepped in front of him, my body positioning itself firmly between him and Taehyung. I locked eyes with Taehyung, "What's your problem? Can't you see that they are uncomfortable with your presence here?"
"Why don't you mind your business, you wannabe Alpha!" Taehyung shouted, his voice echoing off the walls as he abruptly grabbed my jacket, shoving me hard against the cold wall. As I fought to suppress a chuckle at our absurd situation, a shoe unexpectedly struck Taehyung's head with a satisfying thud.
Turning my gaze to the right, I spotted Jimin, a stern glint in his eyes as he glared defiantly at Taehyung. He stood his ground, unbothered by the height and posture of his opponent.
"Get out, you prick, before I call the cops!" Jimin shouted, his voice strong and showing his determination. I couldn't help but admire his courage; he was anything but a coward.
Taehyung, still holding me against the wall, glanced at Jimin and grinned, "Do it again, and I'll have you begging for mercy on your knees."
Taehyung and I turned our heads to the left as a familiar clicking sound echoed in the air. A wicked thrill coursed through me as I saw my Omega, gun poised with deadly intent, aimed straight at Taehyung's head.
"When an Alpha dares to challenge the autonomy of an Omega, who has been granted the sacred right to choose their own path and exist as they desire and turns a blind eye to the laws that protect them, the Omega is justified in unleashing any means necessary to reclaim their right." My Omega spoke the law, his gaze piercing into Taehyung's soul. "I won't think twice before I pull this trigger if you dare to stay. Your presence here is unwelcome!"
As I expected, Taehyung burst into laughter. When his laughter rang out, I noticed the immediate reaction in my Omega. His hands, which clutched the gun tightly, began to tremble ever so slightly. It might have gone unnoticed by anyone else in the room, but it was a clear sign of his distress for me. I could tell this was a new and frightening situation for him; he likely had never had to use a weapon before, and today was not the day I wanted him to feel that pressure or fear.
There would always be another chance to teach him how to handle a gun. This time, I wanted to shield him from the need to use it.
With a sense of urgency, I attempted to push at Taehyung without much strength or force. Then, as if to be demanding, I shouted, "You need to leave! I will not let you hurt anyone here!"
Taehyung sent me crashing against the wall with a blow to the face. This shithead! He was going to pay for that.
I let out a low groan as he landed another punch, this one striking my gut, forcing me to double over in pain. I was immediately caught in a dilemma about how I should feel regarding his performance. On one hand, I found myself annoyed with him, yet on the other, I couldn't help but admire the skill and depth he brought to this role.
The chaotic scene unfolded instantly before we could comprehend what happened next, leaving no room for rational thought. The sharp crack of gunfire shattered the silence, and I felt a hot, searing pain radiate from my thigh.
Confused and in shock, I turned my head to the left, and that's when I caught sight of my Omega. His face was drained of color, eyes wide with horror and disbelief, as he stood frozen in shock, the gun slipping from his fingers and clattering to the ground. It must have dawned on him, too late, that he had unintentionally shot me.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine concern as he hurried over to my side.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Taehyung slipping away from the scene, a sly smirk playing on his lips, and I couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. This unexpected turn of events hadn't been part of my original plan, but somehow, it felt like it had unfolded in an even more intriguing way than I had anticipated. Who would have guessed that chaos could lead to something so unexpectedly delightful?
"Jimin, call an ambulance, please!" I heard the frantic voice of my Omega cut through. He was moving with a sense of urgency, trying to tear off his shirt to use it to apply pressure to my wound. I quickly grasped his wrists, stopping him gently but firmly, and lowered myself to the ground, feeling the coolness of the floor beneath me.
"Don't!" I urged. His eyes were wide with panic, reflecting the urgency of the situation. I held his hands tightly, grounding him as I spoke, "Keep your shirt on. I have no desire to take a life today, but I swear, Seokjin, if anyone else lays eyes on you naked, I will not hesitate."
"Please don't talk nonsense; you're hurt." He said, ignoring me, taking off his shirt to reveal another shirt underneath. This revelation lessened my annoyance but didn't eliminate his future punishment for disobedience.
I watched him carefully tend to my thigh, wrapping the cloth over it and tying it to restrict blood flow. He appeared deeply worried; his brows furrowed in a way that betrayed his inner anxieties. I could sense his heart racing beneath his shirt, the pulse visible in his neck, and his fingers trembling slightly, betraying the calm he was trying to maintain.
I wanted to tell him it wasn't as painful as he presumably imagined. Still, it could ruin things. Besides, there was something oddly comforting about him believing he needed to take care of me. I found myself entranced by the idea, recognizing how easily I could grow accustomed to this dynamic between us.
"Who would have thought that coming to buy a house would land me in the middle of a shooting? This is quite the business you got going on here, Seokjin," I said playfully, trying to inject some lightness into his frazzled demeanor.
His expression darkened, and I could see his lips form a pout, a clear indication my attempt at humor did not amuse him. "This is not something to joke about. I'm really sorry for what happened, and I fully understand if you want to press charges against me," he said as he looked at the floor.
"Press charges? Why on earth would I do that?" I replied, maintaining a lighthearted smile that I hoped would ease his worries. "You were just trying to defend yourself. Regrettably, I was in the right place but the wrong person for you to target."
His eyes rolled, and I found it endearing despite what was happening. "Do you think getting shot is something to laugh about?" he asked, unbelieving.
"No, Seokjin, of course not," I responded, the corners of my mouth still turned upwards. "But honestly, I'd rather not dwell on the thought of whether I'll ever be able to walk again. That would be a rather gloomy scenario to entertain, don't you think?"
A look of alarm crossed his face, and his throat bobbed as he seemed to contemplate my words. It wasn't the train of thought I intended to put him on, but I had to admit that he was the one who pushed the conversation in that direction.
"Don't wear such a sad expression; I really will be fine, Seokjin," I reassured him. "I highly doubt you managed to hit any vital artery. If you had, that would imply you actually have good aim, and considering I was not your intended target, I think it's safe to say that your shooting skills are less than stellar."
I ignored his glaring eyes at my comment and reached out, threading my fingers through his soft, luscious hair, relishing the moment of connection despite the circumstances. The gesture seemed to catch him off guard, but I didn't care; it felt right. "Maybe we should work on that together. I could give you some pointers on how to improve your aim."
