I had not caught up with Dre yet. She was singing louder than before. I was still running after her when suddenly I bumped into a wall.
When a hand slipped to my waist in an attempt to help me from falling backwards, was when I realised I hadn't bumped into a wall but a human being.

My hands naturally went up to his shoulders and I didn't fail to notice that his shoulders were broad and strong. I slowly raised my head to look at my saviour and was met with those eyes that looked like the ocean and those pink lips.

I was brought out of my reverie by the voice that I wouldn't mind hearing for the rest of my life. "Are you okay princess?" Liam asked smirking a little. Which means he noticed how I was shamelessly checking him out. Oh Val, how stupid!

"Um.Ye-yes... I'm...kay.. Okay," I stuttered . Val! Pull yourself together and stop being pathetic. He is just a guy. Like every other guy you have met and talked to.

"Okay. Why were you running like that?" he asked, still holding my waist. The position we were in immediately registered in my brain. I quickly moved back a little, giving him a hint to get his hand off from my waist. He got the hint and quickly dropped his hand to his sides, while muttering something.

"So, I asked, why were you running?" he asked again. Oh yes! I was running because of Dre.I quickly looked ahead to see if Dre had gone. She was standing at the far end of the hall and was smiling. When our eyes met she blew me a kiss and gave me a thumbs up before sprinting away. Liam must have being confused at my behaviour, because he turned around to check what I was looking at. "I...um, was running for...um...A class...I am going to be late for my class" I said stuttering. Although this was a lie. I had a free period so I didn't have any class.

"But we have a free period," he said. Oh my! How could I have forgotten that we had all our classes together. So he would know that I didn't have any classes now. Woah! This was so awkward. He just caught my lie. "Um...yes."

I couldn't even make a sentence. I was never good with making up good lies. Dre always had my back whenever I was in trouble and needed help with lies. As bad as it sounds, Dre was my lie making machine. "Let's go to the library," Liam said smiling. "Um...sure," I said not looking at him.

Okay Valerie! You are behaving like a silly child. You need to act like the matured girl you are. He is just a guy. Although he is handsome and hot, you still have to put yourself together and not always act like a nervous freak whenever you are around him.

Soon we got to the library. The librarian was sitting there engrossed in a book she was reading. She didn't even notice our presence.
Liam knocked on the desk and she looked up at us.

"I am so sorry. Welcome," she said looking at us. "It's okay ma'am. Books have a way of taking us into another wholly different world," he said, smiling at her. Hmmmm! Interesting, I wonder what kind of books he is interested in. Come to think of it, I have never met any popular person in high school who is interested in reading books. Most of them are only concerned with ways to increase their popularity by being bullies and also by going after girls or boys. Most of them usually have poor grades. But it seems my Liam is different.

Wait! Did I just call him my Liam? Oh my! What has this embodiment of handsomeness done to me? I was brought out of my reverie by Liam. "Let's go Valerie," Liam said. "Sure," I said. We walked into the inner section of the library. Few students were here and there. This days students didn't even bother themselves with the library.The library was just there for formalities as far as I am concerned.

"So what books are you interested in?" I heard Liam ask. "Well. I don't really have a favourite genre. I just read any book that seems interesting," I said. "Same here," he said. "Cool," I said, not knowing what to say other than that. "Okay... Let's grab some books and get a quiet section to read," he said. "Sure," I said.

After looking for books for a good five minutes, we finally got a section which was perfect according to Liam and settled down to read.
I quickly opened up the book and buried my face in the book,pretending to read. I was nervous.

I felt Liam's eyes on me. "You don't think I called you here just to read right?" he asked. I looked up from the book and found his eyes. There was a hint of amusement and something else I couldn't place my finger on in his eyes. "Really?" I asked. "Um...yes," he said. "Okay...so what are we here for?" I asked. "Look Valerie, I like you," he blurted out.

Did Liam just say he likes me? Am I dreaming? Somebody pinch me please. This must be a joke right? I can't even describe what the butterflies in my stomach are doing now. I closed my eyes and opened it again, wanting to be sure if Liam was still sitting opposite me.

Heck, yeah! He was still there and staring at me slightly amused at my behavior. Oh my God! He likes me. "Would you like to go on a date with me? Maybe next week Friday?" he asked again.

A date? Is this really happening? At that moment, the bell rang. Signifying that the next class was about to start.The sound system was connected in a way that students who tried to escape classes by going to the library, wouldn't have an excuse to miss class.

What the fuck! I just got an opportunity to go on a date with the boy I like and then this bell has to go ahead to spoil everything. Why is my life like this?

"Valerie, let's go. We don't want to be late for class," Liam said. "Sure," I said. So this is how this was going to slip.

"I will pick you up at 9:00 pm okay princess?" he said on our way to our physics class. I just nodded. I couldn't even say a word. I entered the physics class with an ear-to-ear grin on my face. I can't wait to tell Dre everything.
