After settling down on my bed I picked up my phone and dialed the number that made my heart beat accelerate rapidly. On the last ring he picked the call.

"Hello," he said.

"Um. Hello. I just called to say I am sorry for what happened." He didn't respond. Did he cut the call?

"Hello?" I said unsure of what to expect. "Yeah" he said plainly. Oh God! I knew this was a bad Idea. I have never felt this awkward in my entire life.  "I was angry and you didn't approach me at the right time. I guess you were right when you said something about not always meeting me in my good mood," I said, chuckling a little.

The other end of the line was dead quiet. I just said a joke and laughed at it. Wow! I am so embarrassed.

"Ok, Liam, if you are just going to give me the silent treatment, I will just hang up," I said hoping he would say something more. The next thing he said left me speechless.

"Ok" he said. And the line went dead. What the fuck! I just got the greatest embarrassment of my life. This is even more than the time In junior school when Lucy James slapped me in front of the whole class because I mistakenly stepped on her ugly shoes. She was just a bully and an ugly bitch, the whole class laughed at me and made fun of me but Dre came to my rescue and gave her the insult of her life. After that day she never crossed my path again thanks to my bestie.

Dre! I told her this was going to be a bad idea. I have to give her a call and tell her how her terrible plan failed. On the first ring she picked the call. "Babe, how did it go? I told you everything would be fine. You don't need to thank me I know I am the best. I'll ask for my reward later though, so tell me how it went already," Dre said, squealing.

"It was terrible, Dre," I said. "Wait! What? Terrible? How? What happened?" she asked.

"He snubbed me," I said still feeling the hurt. "Details please," she said. "Ok... I apologised and told him I was angry and that's why I had an outburst. I tried to make the atmosphere light by saying a joke which ended up bad because I laughed at my own joke" I said, remembering my not so funny joke.

"Shit!" she said. "Yeah! I told him to talk or I would hang up and he told me ok and even hung up himself" I said, fiddling with the hem of my nightie.

"Oh my goodness!" she said with sympathy in her voice. "I have never being so embarrassed in my life Dre," I said.

"Chill babe. He is probably still angry. But he will come around," she said trying to assure me. "Oh really? I don't think so, he will never," I said. "Stop being pathetic. He will. Who would want to refuse a rare beauty like you?" she said trying to ease the atmosphere and make me cheer up.

"Not helping Dre. I feel stupid," I said. "He will come around. Cheer up already!!" she said. "I hope so. Okay bye," I said to her.

" Bye Baby. Goodnight, don't think too much."

" Yes, I won't. Night babe." With that I hung up, skipping back to my thoughts. I really did feel stupid. Maybe it is because I like him. Wow! I can't believe how much I've changed lately.
I was brought out of my thoughts by my phone's ringtone. What did Dre want again?

I picked my phone and answered the call without looking at the caller ID. "Dre what again?" I said slightly scrunching my face at Dre's disturbance.

"It's not Dre." The person on the other end of the line said. I know that voice. It's Liam's voice. My heart immediately started beating faster than normal. I don't even know what to say.

Luckily, he broke the awkward silence for me. "I am sorry for being harsh earlier, princess," he said in a cool voice. I smiled at the way he called me princess.

"Umm... it's okay," I said whilst stuttering a bit.

"So... am I forgiven?"

" Yes, of course."

" Great! So what are you doing?"

" Nothing really, I was about to go to bed"

"Oh okay, princess. I'll let you sleep."

"Ok"

"Goodnight, princess. See you tomorrow, baby."

I hung up. I'm speechless and filled with a strange happiness. He called me baby and princess! I feel so special. Finally things are happening right for me. Mum would be happy when I tell her about my boyfriend.

Wait, what? Valerie shut up! He has not even told me he likes me and I am already calling him my boyfriend and want to introduce him to my mum. Gosh I am so pathetic. Whatever! I am happy that at least something good is going to happen. I have a hunch and I bet I am right.
I drifted off to sleep with a smile plastered on my face.
