Chapter 3

Barry was woken to someone's hands on his shoulders. They were shaking him.

Barry groaned and tried to turn away, tried to keep his eyes closed, but these hands were pretty persistent. He cracked open an eye before shutting it again. Why were lights so bright!?

He heard a chuckle and forced an eye open. He was greeted with a familiar smirk.

Barry literally jumped out of bed. Instead of landing on his feet, though, he landed on his back. "Ow," he muttered. He glared up at the window, which was open.

It was dark out.

Barry turned his glare on Snart next, his anger becoming a weapon. He stalked up to Snart and pressed him against the wall. "Don't you ever do that again," Barry growled in warning. Snart's smirk never left his face, though.

Barry sighed and walked away. He fell like a stone back unto his bed, and this time, Snart didn't bug him. Except Barry was already awake, and he knew he wasn't going back to bed, no matter how much he wanted to.

He sighed, sat up, gave Snart the bird, got a laugh back, and stood up. He tossed his shirt off on his way to the bathroom, completely oblivious to the man behind him who was enjoying the view. Once in the bathroom, Barry took off his pants. After a minute of thinking he had forgotten something, he realized he had forgotten his entire outfit.

So, since he was like most people and way too lazy to put his pants back on to get a new pair, he just walked back out in his boxers.

He walked back toward the living room and pulled his suitcase with him into the bathroom. This time, though, he didn't fail to notice the man who was staring at him. "What?" Barry snapped coldly.

Snart didn't reply, just kept staring at him in that weird, creepy way of his. It made Barry want to run. So he did, but he dragged his suitcase with him. And it was more of a fast walk.

When he got into the bathroom, Barry went through his suitcase, but he quickly found a problem. It wasn't his. There were clothes in it, but they weren't his.

Heck, he bet they wouldn't even fit. He sighed. Everything was going wrong. He couldn't even have good hygiene.

He ran a hand through his hair as he thought. It was a habit of his—one he did often. Whenever he had to make a "big" choice, this was something he did. He liked to think of it as combing his fingers through his brain.

After grabbing a purple shirt, he was acutely aware that they were children's clothes. So he couldn't wear these clothes.

Guess he would be wearing the same clothes all trip. That would suck. He would probably smell.

He walked out the pink door of the bathroom. He could bring the suitcase to the Lost & Found. Maybe his would be there.

Barry went to sit on the couch, praying Snart had already left or wouldn't question his choice of clothing.

Sadly, he never had much luck.

"Why are you still not wearing anything?" was the first words out of Snart's mouth. Barry glared at him.

"What do you care?" Barry replied. He had meant it to be bitter, but now that he had said it, he was actually curious. "It's distracting," was not the expected response.

Barry just stared at him for a moment before flashing over to grab and throw on his shirt and pants. Afterword, he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"Happy?" Barry snarked. Instead of making a pun or just ignoring him, Snart decided to reply with, "Why are you wearing the same clothes?"

Barry debated for a minute. It probably wouldn't matter...

"Grabbed the wrong suitcase," Barry admitted. Instead of replying or smirking or making a pun, Snart just walked into their room. Barry sighed.

Barry turned on the TV. He didn't have anything better to do, so why not finish that Prison Break episode?

He had paused at Michael's trial, so that's where he continued. Of course, that's when Snart walked back in, this time carrying some clothes. Barry couldn't see them well, but he was pretty sure there were skinny jeans there.

Barry raised an eyebrow. "Who knew Captain Cold wore skinny jeans, let alone had them?" Barry teased. He was shocked to find that it felt like they were bantering in costume.

"They're not for me," Snart replied.

Barry laughed before looking around. "Who are they for, then? Lisa? Mick?''

Snart rolled his eyes and thrust his clothes at Barry. Barry cocked his head in confusion before realizing Snart was offering.

Barry's eyes widened. Before Snart could change his mind, he grabbed them and flashed then on. Now, instead of yesterday's clothes, he was wearing the skinny jeans and a right, dark blue turtleneck.

"Thanks, Snart," Barry said. Snart raised an eyebrow. "If you're gonna thank me, at least call me Leonard or something."

Barry thought for a moment. "I know you don't like Leo," Barry didn't miss the slight flinch at the nickname, "and I'm not going to call you Leonard. Len seems too friendly for the person blackmailing me, and I can't can you Captain Cold in public, so I think CC will work."

CC stared at him for a moment before laughing. He managed to say a yes before he literally collapsed.

Barry found himself laughing along, soon falling beside CC on the couch. They sat there for a few moments before Barry remembered who he was lying next to.

He coughed awkwardly and sat up. He glanced once at CC, who looked annoyed. Barry considered asking before shutting down the idea.

As if perfectly timed, there was a knock on the door. Barry walked over, hoping it wasn't Lisa. He was still considering the chances Mick was on the boat when he opened the door and was greeted by JJ and Lily.

Lily was wearing a bright pink sports bra. She obviously was still trying to make that guy (or girl. Barry didn't judge) jealous if the way she hung onto JJ was any indication. She was also wearing skinny jeans like Barry, but they seemed even tighter. JJ just waved at CC, who was looking at them with something like contempt. She was wearing some leggings that were covered in kittens, which seemed to represent her personality perfectly. She was wearing a different pair of glasses, which were blue to match her ocean-colored eyes. Her lips were red and turned into a smile, making it obvious she was wearing makeup. Her shirt was skin tight and a dark blue, which didn't match at all with the orange and calico cats. CC was just wearing a different parka, something that was driving Barry nuts.

"Are you coming?" Lily asked. She gestured to CC, then made a look that basically asked if they were hooking up. Barry shook his head frantically, to which JJ started laughing. CC just rolled his eyes.

"Barry will be out in a minute,'' CC replied. JJ raised an eyebrow, and instead of trying to debate with them, Barry just signed and made a shoo gesture.

After they were gone, CC gestured to the couch. Barry scowled at him before obeying. He crossed his legs as he sat down. He thought he saw CC's eyes flicker down, but he ignored it.

"I have a few rules," CC started. Barry was about to protest before CC put a hand up. "I'm blackmailing you, remember? I make the rules.''

Barry was too stubborn to admit CC was right, so he stayed silent. "You can't tell anyone who I am or that I'm blackmailing you. Or your identity. That's just really difficult for you to keep as a secret, right?" Barry glared at him.

CC then made the shoo gesture. "Go. You're not wanted." Barry rolled his eyes and headed back out the door.

When he finally walked past the pink door toward Lily and JJ, he was greeted by winks and laughs. "Didn't know you had a daddy kick," JJ laughed. Barry flushed. "He's my roommate," Barry tried, but they wouldn't listen.

"Where do you wanna head today?" Lily asked, directing the question toward Barry. Apparently, JJ didn't like that. She glared at the back of Lily's head, but it had no affect.

"My doctor made me promise to swim a few laps at the pool every day," Barry replied. Caitlin had thought that since he couldn't run, swimming would be a great way to burn off any extra energy. Barry had a feeling he would have a lot of it since he had forgotten to do it yesterday and hadn't done it yet today so he figured he should probably do a few extra.

"You have something wrong with you?" Lily asked. Barry gave her a confused expression until he replayed what he had said. He laughed. "No, I just have a lot of energy," he tried to explain. Maybe CC was right about his secret identity. It really was hard for him to lie.

JJ shrugged. "I actually can't swim," she said. She looked down at her feet again, something Barry was noticing she did a lot. "I only have one leg."

Lily didn't looked even remotely shocked. Barry was pretty sure they didn't meet on this cruise.

Barry smiled kindly at her. "I know," he replied. He was a CSI. He could notice limbs or lumps in clothing. He was pretty much paid to do so.

She glanced up at him, her face as readable as a book. "And... and you don't judge?" Barry nodded, a lump growing in his throat by the minute. How could people treat someone so badly that they were ashamed of their disabilities?

Barry smiled at her. "Do you like reading?"

She cocked her head before nodding. "I brought a bunch of books on the trip. Like, The Darkest Minds, Land of Stories, Dork Dair-" Barry cut her off with laugh. "I get it. Im saying you could read while I swim. Lily can do whatever she wants." JJ nodded slowly and Lily agreed.

So they headed toward the wonderful pool of the cruise. Or so they hoped. They didn't know if it was good quality or not.

As they walked, as many people do, they chatted. And, of course, they managed to circle back to CC.

"Are you sure you're not banging him?" Lily said. She kept saying that same thing and it was getting old. "I'm not! I don't even like him as a person!" Barry said. Lily and JJ shared a look. Barry facepalmed.

"Can we just talk about something else?" he begged. JJ shrugged and Lily smirked. "Why don't we talk about the fact that you say your doctor recently?"

Not this again. Barry couldn't exactly tell them why he had so much energy, or how he had met Caitlin... could he? He could tell them about the coma. Maybe they'd back off?

"I was in a coma," he started to explain awkwardly. Lily snickered for a moment until she realized he was serious from the look on his face. Lily and JJ shifted uncomfortably. Barry laughed. "It's not a big deal. I'm awake now, right?"

"I mean..." JJ replied. Then they all burst out laughing.

By now, they were right outside the pool's doors. They were white, just like the bar's door was. Except there was some glass in the middle so you could look in without actually being inside. From what Barry could currently see, there was something big happening in the middle of the room. He continued to look around and was greeted with white walls that had some red on them. That made him a little concerned, considering it was a completely different shade than his room. It was almost... blood red. The once white marble floors were no different.

Barry shoved past the door and ran inside, leaving a terrified JJ and shocked Lily behind.

"What's going on?" he demanded when he got inside. He pushed past the crowd of people toward the yellow police tape before ducking under. He heard police chatter around, telling him to get out, and he found himself replying, "I'm a CSI from Central City. My name is Barry Allen and I can help."

There were a few murmurs since Barry didn't have his badge on him, but they let him pass to the dead body. Behind him, he could still hear them chatting. "Kid, there's no need to check. We know how she died."

There were knife marks along her wrist. Several. Her skin might have once been tan was now ghostly pale, though you expect that from a dead body. Her brown hair curled around her ears like it was trying to hit her back to life. He couldn't bring himself to look at her face right away, but when he could, he was greeted by rosy cheeks and brown eyes. With a shock, Barry realized he recognized her.

It was the little girl from yesterday who was playing Sonic.
