Chapter 5
Biancha's P.O.V.
And so I did. I waited for Alicia to come out and greet them with an unexpectedly friendly gesture. A bit too friendly. Ulrich's parents hugged her like she was one of their own pups. Biting my lip, I looked down. She was so imperfect and strange, yet the Steel Alpha, the strictest of them all, acts like she is the future Luna, while I couldn't even get a smile from my own family. It's downright unfair!
Ulrich came out next, gracefully exiting the vehicle and leaning on its side casually. I sighed softly and grabbed the door handle, but Ulrich was faster than me and grabbed it before I could react, opening the door for me.
"Come on, then. Don't just sit here and pretend like you never saw my parents before. Come and say hello." He gave me a small smile. An encouragement, I'll assume, but it was a bit too cocky for that.
I glared into his back as he walked over to his parents. Such rotten attitude! There's no way I'll be tolerating that. Also, yes, I have seen pictures of the power couple in magazines before and I've seen them from afar a couple of times, when they were visiting my uncle and aunt, but that doesn't mean he can talk to me like that! He is treating me like a second class citizen. I want to meet them the right way, so they know I'm not just some low life he found on the street.
I straightened my white silk blouse and combed through my long hair with my nails real quick before exiting the car, my black high heels clicking against the pavement. I looked pretty good, dressed in my tight black skinny jeans and the loose blouse, which the look on his mother's face definitely confirmed. She gasped and pointed at me with a smile, what else could that mean?
The Steel Alpha gave me a puzzling look, I couldn't quite figure out if he was amazed, dazed, confused or anything in between. I nodded in respect towards the man whose very gaze gleamed in power and danger, before looking away quickly. Even when he's showing passive emotion, his eyes look ready to kill.
Suddenly, Ulrich walked in front of me, adjusting his manerisms yet again as if was some lower wolf. I don't know why, but this pissed me off. He just walked in front of me, for Moon's sake! I really need to chill. Good impression, Biancha! You need to leave a good impression.
Even though my anger subsided quickly, tolerating this act of supremacy won't be something I'll let slide in the future, not if I can help it. So I sped up my pace, and made sure I "casually" slapped his hand with my own, just to remind him who I am. His only reaction was a small cough and a quick glare my way. Oh boy, this guy was weird. But I'll fix it.
Ulrich's P.O.V.
I can't believe this woman! I kindly open the door for her, let her take her sweet time getting out, and then she starts slapping my hand out of nowhere! But why she would do that was beyond me. Turns out she will be very difficult to handle after all.
But whatever, maybe she's just stressed out from the trip and this is how she relieves stress? She isn't even that strong so it doesn't matter. Nevertheless, I sent her a small glare just in case she doesn't notice it bothered me. I am really not in the mood for this, otherwise she would have been punished already.
"ULLIE! MY BABY!" My mother screamed like a lunatic as she jumped onto me, her small body clinging to mine like an ornament to a Christmas tree. Sighing tiredly I grab her by her shoulders gently and put her in front of me. I flashed her a weak smile and said:
"Mom, sorry, but not tonight please. It's late, and my mate is here, okay? You can hug me all you want tomorrow but it's really late now."
She nodded and smiled, before gasping and facepalming for some reason.
"Your mate is here!!! Omigosh, I am such an idiot!"
"Ugh, mom!" I can't believe she's making a scene. After I told her I'm too tired to handle it. My mother has the unfortunate talent of selective hearing, so she only remembers one part of what you said and ignores everything else, which I really can't stand. I hope Biancha isn't like that.
She ignored my annoyed sighs and ran towards Biancha at full speed.
"Hello, sweetheart! Welcome to my litter!"
Biancha stood there like a deer caught in headlights, and I could tell by her facial expression that she couldn't even begin to process what my mother just said. The thing is that my mother was not born a werewolf. She became one after my dad changed her. I think she knows that werewolves don't call their pups a litter, and I'm damn sure she knows everyone finds it extremely strange, but she likes being a showoman too much to care.
My father barely caught her before she could turn Biancha into a pancake on the stairs. He pulled her back into his chest, gently restraining her with a hug from behind.
"Calm down Spitfire. You know what we said about behaving in front of newcomers." He warned her in a soft tone, sending an apologetic look to both me and Biancha. My mom wasn't impressed at all, and snarkily replied:
"You know what I said about calling me Spitfire, Mr. Steel."
"And you know my reply to that."
They both simultaneously rolled their eyes at each other, while I slowly tried to escape their company, taking one subtle step at a time. I am tired. Too tired. How do they have energy this late at night?! Oh, why do I even bother with that. They had the energy to raise a bunch of kids, of course they have it in piles.
"Anyways..." My mother started, as she slowly removed herself from my father's grip.
"My name is Libra, the former Luna of the Cross River pack, young and snazzy mama of five babies, and mate of the huge boulder behind me, nice to meet you!"
My father snorted in reply and smirked at the back of her head.
"Snazzy? You haven't been snazzy since the Nixon administration, let alone now."
Before she could turn around to direct him a death glare, I interrupted:
"Alright, that would be quite enough! Dad, please introduce yourself to Biancha and let's go to sleep! It's half past two in the morning, I have to work tomorrow and Biancha is very tired as well. It's been a long day for us all, so shall we wrap this up?"
My mother, of course, took it the wrong way and murmured to my dad:
"Definitely your side of the family. Grumpy and rude 25/7."
My dad just shrugged, turned to Biancha and simply said:
"My name is Ridihan, I am the retired Alpha of the Cross River. Welcome to the pack." And he walked off.
Biancha stood still in place, still bewildered with the greetings she got. She looked at me for an explanation, but I really don't have the energy for this.
"Good night girls, see you in the morning. Mom, show Biancha her room."
Biancha's P.O.V.
What the heck is wrong with the men in this family? Ulrich's dad looked at me like I'm a simple Omega, and Ulrich looked he couldn't care enough about me to even help me bring my luggage up the stairs! Not to mention his mom having a litter!
Huffing, I went back to the car, Ulrich atleast had enough sense to leave it unlocked, and pulled out my three suitcases of luggage and two bags of makeup. How am I going to get this to my room before dawn? Luckily, Ulrich's mom is not the one he inherited his rudeness from, so she grabbed two suitcases, and trugged them up the stairs with me.
"I'm sorry for their behaviour, they can be a little... difficult. They are both quite solitary, mates or no mates." She said, petting my shoulder gently in a strangely relaxing motion.
I sighed. What can I say to that?
"Well, to be honest with you, I expected him to be more... Open. Or kind. Or that he would at least talk to me freely. He acts like a child whose plans just got foiled!" I muttered in frustration.
Libra chucked before muttering:
"Aren't all men like that when you try to tell them things could be done better? If they comply, it would mean admitting that they were wrong before..." She trails off, probably remembering something from her past.
Libra seems like a kind, but easily persuaded person. I could definitely use her to get to Urlich.
So I smiled, and said:
"Good thing we are here to calm their tantrums down."
She just smiled and put a suitcase on her back.
