Thunderous cheers reverberated through every inch of the colossal League stadium in the heart of Tacita City, nestled within the vibrant Arata region. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation and electric energy, drawing spectators from all corners. Whether witnessing the spectacle in person, eagerly following the events from the Pokémon Center, or captivated in the comfort of their homes, this was a spectacle no one could afford to miss. The air buzzed with excitement, and the stadium's pulsating life promised an unforgettable experience for all fortunate enough to be part of this exhilarating moment.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we stand at the zenith of the Arata League, a culmination of intense battles and remarkable feats! From a sea of challengers, one triumphant trainer has risen above all, conquering even the formidable elite four! Now, brace yourselves for the moment you've eagerly awaited—the revelation of the prodigious trainer hailing from Tacita City, who has emerged victorious with a mere TWO Pokémon by her side. Let's hear it for the unparalleled prowess of... AZALEA!"
The stadium swelled with an exuberant sea of cheers as Azalea stepped onto the field, the collective excitement echoing through the stands. As the air buzzed with anticipation, the moment had arrived for the announcer to unveil the challenger who would face Azalea in this electrifying spectacle. The atmosphere crackled with suspense, the crowd's enthusiasm reaching a crescendo as the next chapter of this thrilling showdown unfolded.
"The time has come, dear spectators , for the reveal of the esteemed challenger who will face off against Azalea. I present to you a legendary figure in our league, renowned for his full team of magnificent shiny Pokémon. In an awe-inspiring display of skill, he has steadfastly retained his champion title, unyielding in the face of every challenger. Regarded as the third most formidable trainer on the global state, let's give a thunderous welcome to the unparalleled DA-RIUS!"
As the spotlight shifted to the champion, a chorus of chants reverberated through the stadium, a testament to the adoration and respect the crowd held for him. The atmosphere crackled with fervor, and it was undeniable that he was the undisputed fan favorite. Azalea couldn't fault them; after all, the champion had never tasted defeat against those who had triumphed in the exhibition matches preceding her own.
With the stage set, the announcer's voice cut through the anticipation to lay out the rules for the final clash. The crowd hushed, their attention fixed on the imminent battle.
"Here are the rules for the final match," the announcer declared, setting the tone for the epic showdown. "Just like in the semi-finals, you'll use 6 Pokémon, switching is allowed. Of course, this will be a double battle so each side are allowed to have two pokémon at the same time. The battle is over when one side's Pokémon are all eliminated. As usual, Dynamax, Z-Moves, Terastallizing, and Mega Evolution can only be used once."
Though the intricacies of those advanced techniques meant nothing to Azalea and her opponent, the gravity of the moment hung in the air. It was a battle of pure skill and strategy, with only their Pokémon as allies on this grand stage.
"Now, trainers, bring out your Pokémon!" The declaration marked the beginning of the final confrontation, and with a surge of excitement, Azalea and Darius prepared to unleash their chosen companions onto the battlefield.
10 years later~
"After the battle to end all battles, one trainer stands alone as the first Alola Pokemon League Champion and that trainer is Ash!"
In a quaint coffee shop, a 20-year-old woman immersed herself in the thrilling spectacle of the Manalo Conference finale in the vibrant Alola region. Seated alone, she focused intently on her Rotom phone, its screen ablaze with the electrifying events unfolding at the tournament. Her white eyes moved with precision, scanning every detail in the video feed, occasionally diverting to push a stray strand of crimson behind her ear.
"So..." The woman's fingers curled around the warmth of her coffee cup, a thoughtful expression settling on her face. "A new champion has risen, huh?" The rhythmic hum of conversation in the coffee shop provided a backdrop to her solitary contemplation, the air charged with the resonance of a shifting era in the Alola region's Pokémon League.
'ISN'T THAT AZALEA!?' 'IT IS, I WONDER IF SHE'S FACETIMING HER BOYFRIEND!'
Shit.
The crimson haired girl looked outside the shop and saw a bunch of people staring at her from the window. With just her smile, they were all mesmerized by her. Azalea got up from the chair and left some cash on the table before heading out.
Once she stepped foot outside the shop, she was surrounded by many fans, mostly young ones.
"When will we know about your secret boyfriend?"
"Will you be part of the World Coronation Series held in Galar?"
"What will you do now after the Tacita conference has been postponed?"
"What do you think about the gym leaders here?"
"Who do you think is stronger, Cynthia or Leon?"
"Do you think you are strong enough to beat Arata's champion, Darius?"
The first and last questions made her uneasy. Azalea, skilled in handling public attention, shrugged off the discomfort with a gracious smile. Without offering any direct answers, she gracefully retreated, shielding herself from the barrage of probing and personal queries. As a protective measure, she donned her cap, preparing for the inevitable influx of curious onlookers.
Avoiding further scrutiny, Azalea started making her way home. Amidst the background noise of the bustling crowd, her phone chimed with a message. A quick glance revealed a notification from a friend named 'Raya,' injecting a welcomed pause in the whirlwind of public attention.
Raya: Did you check out the latest news yet?
Azalea: A 10 year old kid becoming the first Champion of Alola :)
Raya: Well, that's one of them.
A subtle ping from her phone drew Azalea's attention, and instead of a conventional message, Raya had sent her a link. Intrigued, Azalea clicked on it, finding herself transported to a captivating post. The woman's eyes widened in surprise at the staggering number of likes it had garnered. The post announced the imminent opening of a new Pokémon lab, boasting an enticing array of 27 starters for prospective trainers to choose from, as detailed by the poster. Captivated by the prospect of new Pokémon ventures, Azalea returned to her chat with Raya, her nimble fingers tapping out a message, diving into the excitement surrounding this intriguing revelation.
Azalea: It even has more likes than your post with M.
Raya: Haha, very funny.
Sooo....now what?
Azalea: What do you mean?
Raya: Don't act you don't know, gurl. Whatcha going to do now?
What's your next move?
Azalea found herself halted in a tranquil forest, surrounded by the rustling of leaves and the whispers of nature. The canopy above created a dappled dance of sunlight and shadows. Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly remembered the message from Raya that she had left unanswered. With a thoughtful pause, Azalea retrieved her phone. The digital screen illuminated her face as she crafted a response to her friend. The forest around her seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the next move in this moment of stillness.
Azalea: This time, instead of thinking about what I am going to do..
Azalea: I'll go wherever the world takes me and go with the flow.
Raya: So you're listening to your heart this time? Interesting.
Raya: Gotta go, we're expecting to have a challenger today.
Azalea: Hehehe, go easy on them.
Raya: Like I'd ever do that ;)
Azalea swiftly powered down her phone, sliding it into her pocket, as she ventured deeper into the forest. The ambiance changed, the murmurs of the leaves and the subtle melodies of hidden creatures enveloping her in a living tapestry of nature's symphony. However, her serene stroll came to an abrupt halt as a colossal Ursaring materialized before her, its bellow resonating through the woodland.
URSARINGGGG
The thunderous cry sent ripples through the forest, prompting other Pokémon to scatter in a hurried frenzy. The Ursaring's demeanor, as conveyed by its commanding presence, made it abundantly clear that it wasn't particularly pleased to encounter Azalea. The tension in the air intensified, casting an ominous shadow over her serene expedition
"Show me what you got." The woman smirked, bringing out a pokéball.
Later in the day
"Hmm, I wonder what I should eat?" The city sprawled around her as Azalea strolled, the bustling energy of the urban landscape a vibrant backdrop to her musings.
"Maybe Eggs and coffee? Cake and coffee? Poképuffs with coffee..."
The carousel of culinary contemplation spun in her mind until she reached her destination: her house. The façade of her house welcomed her, a sanctuary amid the city's chaos. Eager to step inside, the door was a breath away when a distant voice caught her attention.
"Hold on a sec!" The mailman's call pierced the air, and Azalea turned to find him approaching, a letter and a box in hand.
"Ah, thank you very much," Azalea said, accepting the items with a grateful nod.
"No problem. Must be important considering it came from him," the mailman remarked, wiping sweat from his forehead. The exchange lingered with a hint of mystery, casting a shadow of curiosity over Azalea's routine day.
Hmm, him?
"Have a nice day," the mailman's cheerful goodbye echoed as he swiftly departed for his next delivery. Azalea scrutinized the box, noting the telling sticker that read:
From: Arata's Champion
To: Azalea
The box emitted a subtle rattle, offering a tantalizing mystery. Entering her home, Azalea discarded her shoes and, enveloped in the comforting gloom, made her way to the kitchen. Seating herself, she placed the box and letter on the table, feeling a sense of anticipation building within her.
With a deep breath, she opened the box as one would unwrap a cherished gift. Her gaze delved into its contents, revealing a Z-ring, a prominently displayed mega stone, and a partially opened locket. Azalea chuckled, appreciating the significance of these carefully chosen objects.
Turning her attention to the letter, she carefully unfolded it, revealing the champion's thoughtful words:
If you're reading this, then I imagine that you are still in Arata. If you had received the letter, it must mean you have the box as well. Knowing you, you had already opened it already before reading this. I am giving you this because a new season of the World Coronation Series will arrive soon and since I am a champion, I will be part of it again. I heard from a little bird that you are going to sign up for the next one. You do realize that you're a high ranked trainer, right? More specifically, you are one of 8 strongest trainers in the world, so you'll already be part of the Masters 8 thanks to me of course. If we are lucky, we can have our battle that we never had. I hope to see you there in the battlefield, Crimson Queen. -Arata's Champion, Darius
Azalea sighed, contemplating the weight of the invitation. Her fingers gingerly traced the contents of the box, and she unearthed a locket. Opening it, she discovered a key stone within. Pulling out her Rotom phone, she revealed a nostalgic background picture—a group photo from her youth, where she and four other children clutched pokémon eggs. The egg in her younger self's arms was dark blue with four red spots.
"Knowing them, they'll convince me to go as well," Azalea mused, a slight smile gracing her lips. Her gaze lingered on the little girl standing next to her in the photograph. "Especially you."
