CHAPTER 3 - Chronicles Of Curiosity

CHRONICLES OF CURIOSITY

It was now morning and everyone was eating their breakfast in the pokemon center. Azalea was just drinking a cup of coffee, Eclipse and Solar were eating a plate of bread and eggs and for Charles, he was searching for something on Azalea's phone.

"Found it." Charles said, giving her phone back.

"Wow, I didn't know there was a library close to the pokemon center here." Azalea widened her eyes, noticing how close the library was to them.

"It's said that it is the only library that has books about every region." Charles stated, surprising the trio.

"Amazing." Eclipse smiled.

"My sister is really fond of books." Solar sighed, taking a sip from his drink.

"How about we stop by the place before heading to our next destination?" Azalea asked, feeling Zoroark's tail touching her.

"I wish I could go with you guys but the thing is, I am banned from the library here." Charles laughed nervously.

"Wow, did you speak too loud?" Eclipse tilted her head.

"Not quite.." Charles shook his head.

"It's because he thought it was a good idea to have a pokemon battle inside the library."

They looked back and saw Nurse Joy walking towards them.

"Wow, that's even dumber." Azalea sighed.

"Hehehe, so I'll wait for you girls here in the pokemon center." Charles scratched the back of his head.

"Alright then. Come on, Eclipse, let's go." Azalea got up from the chair.

"Right!" Eclipse nodded.

"Hey Solar, can you wait here for us?" Eclipse asked. "I know you don't like going to the library." She chuckled.

"Sure!" Solar nodded.

"Can you watch over Solar and Mudkip for me Charles?" Eclipse looked over at Charles.

"Leave him to me." Charles nodded.

Both Azalea, Zoroark and Eclipse left the Pokémon center and walked towards the library. Leaving the boys in the Pokémon center. And now, they were in front of the library.

"Come on, let's go." Eclipse grabbed her arm and they entered the library.

While the boys were waiting for the girls. The two of them were feeding Staraptor and Mudkip.

"You..have a really good sister." Charles said, as he looked over at Solar.

"You betcha! We do everything together." Solar nodded and gave him a big smile.

"Must be nice.." Charles sighed, as he stared at the floor.

"Hmm?" Solar tilted his head, confused.

"Ahh, don't worry about it." Charles immediately shook his head.

When the girls entered, the interior felt much bigger than the outside. There were so many floors and books. The girls went to the receptionist, hoping that he'll help them.

"Excuse me, do you perhaps have a book about the Arata region?" Eclipse asked the deskman, who seemed occupied.

"Oh yes we do actually. But I do apologize that all of the books about the region are all purchased." The deskman sighed, leaving Azalea and Eclipse in shock.

"You have got to be kidding me." Eclipse sighed in disappointment.

Both Azalea and Eclipse left the library, all sad. Eclipse brought up her phone and explained everything.

"What, they were all bought?"

"Yup, that's what the deskman said."

"Hmm, alright. Come back to the pokemon center and we'll figure something out."

"Alright."

Eclipse ended the call. She looked beside her and saw Azalea looking rather confused. I mean, who in their right mind would purchase every copy of one region? The girls head back to the Pokemon Center and see Solar playing with Mudkip, while Charles was petting Braviary.

"So, what do we do now?" Charles asked as he looked at the girls.

"It's clear that the buyer knew that someone would buy them. Maybe they're trying to hide something about the Arata region from the world." Eclipse crossed her arms, shrugging her shoulders

"Alright then. Let's-

"Wait please."

They looked back and saw Nurse joy giving them signs to approach her at the desk.

"I heard you were talking about the buyer who bought the books about the Arata region." Nurse Joy said as she grabbed their attention.

"You know who the buyer is, Nurse Joy?" Azalea asked as she tilted her head.

"Not exactly. A woman known as Professor Magnolia went to the library here months ago and purchased them all." Nurse Joy said as she scratched the back of her head.

"Professor Magnolia?" Solar hummed.

"It's a professor that specializes in the Dynamax phenomenon." Charles answered, looking at the trio.

"Dynamax?" Said Eclipse and Solar in unison.

"Basically the only region where Pokémon turn into giants." Azalea explained in the most simple way.

"Giants?!" Solar exclaimed excitedly, which made Charles chuckle.

"Let's talk about that another time." Charles nervously laughed. "The point is, I know where her laboratory is." Charles said as he snickered.

"That's good news." Eclipse smiled.

"Thank you Nurse Joy for this information." Azalea thanked her before they left for their next destination.

After they had left the pokemon center, they found themselves in a wild with tons of pokemon. After training their pokemon with the wild, it soon fell at nighttime.

"The stars are so beautiful." Eclipse said as they were all lying down on the grass and next to her was a sleeping Solar and Mudkip.

Zoroark glanced at Azalea, who seemed to be silent. What could she possibly be thinking? Azalea started to remember the call she had with Professor Medora before leaving the pokemon center.

"All of those books about the Arata region were all purchased by Professor Magnolia?"

"That's what Nurse Joy said. Although, I find it quite weird. The only reason why she would buy a full copy of the same region is if she is very interested in our region."

"Or maybe, she is trying to hide the truth about what happened in the Arata region."

"Huh, what do you mean by that?"

"Not everyone knew what happened to the Arata region. Before, they thought it had always been a peaceful and quiet region."

"Tell me, who else knows about the incident 10 years ago?"

"The chairman of the Galar Pokémon League, Chairman Rose. The gym leader in Anistar city of the Kalos region,  Olympia, the former champions of the Kalos and Arata region and the Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia. If you want to find out about the past of your hometown, your only hope is meeting them."

"The former champions, huh?"

"Wait, how does this tie with Professor Magnolia?"

"She's a professor. Professors like to research more than one thing."

"Oh, I see."

Azalea snapped out of it and felt Zoroark sleeping on her stomach. Quietly, she got up and looked around her. She noticed that Eclipse and Charles were all sound asleep and Solar was trapped into his sister's arms.

Azalea decided to head to the lake that they saw earlier and fill out her bottle. While she was searching for it, Azalea can't help but wonder what they are doing in the Arata region right about now

"They're probably busy as always." Azalea sighed and she sounded frustrated.

When she found the lake, she kneeled down and filled her bottle with cold water. After she finished filling it, Azalea head back to the others. When she made it back, she heard Charles snoring. She sat on the grass, opened her backpack and grabbed a quill, paper and an envelope.

Dear Leah, guess what? We didn't run into any trouble today nor did Team Phoenix try to capture our Pokémons. But I can't really say it has been a normal day. Solar, Eclipse, Charles and I were at a Pokémon center, eating breakfast. Since Charles was born in Galar, he knows a lot more stuff than we do. He then showed us a library close to where we are. I also learnt that Eclipse likes to read books but not her brother, hehe. Eclipse and I decided to go in there since Charles was banned from entering because of a dumb reason. Here comes the weird part, Eclipse and I went to the receptionist and she asked if there were any books about the Arata region, yup, our region. The receptionist said something that neither Eclipse and I would expect to hear. All and I mean all of the books mentioned in our region were all purchased.. Crazy right? The two of us head back to the boys, only to find out that the buyer was here in the Galar region and it was none other than Professor Magnolia, someone who does research on Dynamax. I don't see why someone who studies things in their own respective region would be interested in our region. Let's just hope that tomorrow will be less confusing, love you!

-Your sister, Azalea 🤍

It was now morning and everyone was packing their stuff to head to the next town, which was Postwick, Charles hometown.

"So this is Postwick." Solar gasped in awe.

"Come on, let's go to my place." Charles walked in front while the three followed him behind.

They stopped at a house and they guessed it was where Charles lives. Charles knocked on the door and after a couple of minutes, the door opened. It was a woman, her hair color was the same as Charles.

"Hey mom!" Charles went and hugged his mother.

"Welcome back, Charles." His mother hugged him back.

"These are my companions, Azalea from the Arata region, Eclipse and Solar from the Hoenn region." Charles introduced them to his mother.

"Hi there." Eclipse waved hello at her as Solar was shyly hiding behind her sister.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Azalea smiled.

"The pleasure's all mine. I am Charles' mother." She introduced herself to them.

"Come on in." Charles' mother opened the door widely and they all entered the house.

"So you girls are looking for Professor Magnolia?" Charles' mother poured some tea for them to drink and made some pokemon food for Mudkip and Zoroark.

"Yup." Eclipse sighed.

"I see. Is there anything that I could do for you?" Charles' mother asked as she placed the kettle on the table.

"Do you know the chairman of the Galar pokemon league?" Azalea asked her.

"Chairman Rose? Sure, of course I do. He was the first one to endorse Leon." Charles' mother nodded.

"Leon?" Eclipse hummed.

"You've never heard of him? He's Monarch, a.k.a the strongest pokemon trainer in the world! He is also the champion of the Galar region." Charles smirked as he crossed his arms.

"Woah, he must be an amazing man!" Eclipse eyes sparkled.

"Where can we find him? Him as in Chairman Rose." Azalea asked as she took a sip of the tea.

"He rarely shows his face, though. So if you want to see him in person, go see some battles that Leon partakes in." Charles' mother sighed, crossing her arms.

"I see, thank you." Azalea thanked her.

After they finished drinking some tea, Azalea was doing some training with Zoroark, while Eclipse and Charles were having a friendly Pokémon battle and Solar just give some affection to Mudkip. While they were busy, they didn't realize that the sun was setting down.

After brushing their teeth, they went to sleep in Charles' room. Azalea on the other hand, was sitting at his desk, writing a letter.

Dear Leah, today we went to pay a visit to Charles hometown, Postwick. His mother was really kind to us and to our Pokémons. I asked her if she knew the chairman, I know it was a dumb question since she is from Galar. She said that he was the one that endorsed Galar's champion, Leon. Also, the reason why I asked about the chairman is because I had a call yesterday with Professor Medora. She said that the Chairman is one of the few people who knew about the incident 10 years ago in the Arata region. The other ones are Cynthia, Olympia from the Kalos region and the old champions of the Kanto and Kalos region, crazy huh? I thought nobody outside of the Arata region knew about the incident but I guess I was wrong. I know I said that I'll move on from the incident but now, it seems that it won't let me go and it would seem that Eclipse is also interested in learning about our region. Anyways, I'll see you later. Love you!

-Your sister, Azalea 🤍

Eclipse then showed up to the table and placed her rotom phone in front of Azalea. She looked and saw an incoming event that'll happen in the Alola region.

"You don't mean.." Charles said.

"Pack your bags, guys! We're going to Alola!"

"Hooray!" Solar jumped in excitement.

"The Alola region...If I recall-

"A young boy became the first ever champion." Azalea cut off his sentence, as she was really excited to meet him in person. She had watched all of his official battles on screen and now, it was time to officially meet him in person.
