CHAPTER 11 - Bonds Beyond Borders

BONDS BEYOND BORDERS

It was a rainy day in the Hoenn region and the quadruplets were trying to look for a place to take shelter for the time being. Since they are near Eclipse's town, they decided to stay at their place. Eclipse knocked on the door, hoping someone would answer. The door opened and it was their father.

"Eclipse, Solar, you're all soaked." His father widened his eyes, noticing how wet his children and his friends were.

"Come inside." The father walked back and let Solar and his friends enter.

"Thank you sir for your hospitality." Charles sighed in relief.

"It's a pleasure." The father smiled.

All of them came inside the house and the father gave them some towels.

"Ho-ho, a Zoroark." The father kneeled down and patted its head.

Zoroark!

(Hello)

While the girls and the boys changed their wet clothes to their sleepwear, Zoroark, Mudkip and Eevee were having fun with Solar's parents' pokemon. It was now time for dinner and everyone settled down.

"Thanks for the food." Said the quadruplets.

"By the way, Solar. There's something I wanted to ask you." Azalea looked at Solar, who was feeding his Mudkip.

"Hmm?" Solar hummed.

"I was wondering, why didn't you pick your Starter here in the Hoenn region and instead, had to go to the Arata region?" Azalea asked him, which made Solar and his family surprised.

"Yeah, I wondered that too. Mudkip is one of the starters here in the Hoenn region." Charles nodded.

"Uh..well you see.." Solar averted eyes, acting nervous.

"You don't have to tell us if you don't want to." Charles reassured him, in case he was uncomfortable.

"No, I'll tell you." Solar sighed.

He looked at his parents, who looked like they wanted him to tell his friends. Solar took a deep breath and...

"The whole purpose of going to the Arata region was so I could find someone." Solar said.

Charles tilted his head. "Finding someone? Are they a champion or an elite four?"

"My..idol." Solar breathed out, staring at Azalea. Charles looked at her with a confused pikachu face.

Azalea and Charles were shocked, Azalea was even more surprised than him. She never would have thought that she was Solar's idol.

"The Tacita conference was the first League my brother watched. Ever since he watched you and Zoroark battle, Solar always wanted to meet you." Eclipse said, her chin resting on her hand.

"W-Wow, Eclipse told me that you saw my battle in the conference but I didn't know it was that much of a big deal." Azalea said, not knowing how to react to it.

"Because of how amazing you were and how calm when you gave out an order to Zoroark, you inspired me to become a pokémon trainer." Solar smiled, as he petted Mudkip.

"Damn gurl, looks like you've got yourself an admirer." Charles laughed, playfully punched Azalea's shoulder.

"So that's why you wanted to get your first Pokémon in the Arata region." Azalea sighed in realization.

"Because of how much my son looks up to you, his love for Pokémon grew stronger than ever." Solar's mom chuckled, smiling fondly at Azalea.

"And now that our son is traveling alongside you. We ask you to take good care of our son and teach him many things about Pokémon." Solar's dad looked over at Azalea, then at Charles.

"You can count on me. I won't let anything happen to your son or your daughter." Azalea nodded, glancing at Eclipse and Solar.

"You can also count on me to look after them." Charles chuckled.

"Thank you very much, you two." Eclipse smiled, hugging her younger brother.

"My dream was to meet you in person. But now that we are here. My new dream is to become a strong trainer like you someday. And when the time comes, I want to have a battle with you." Solar said, eyes full of confidence.

"I'll be waiting." Azalea nodded, excited for that day to happen.

After everyone was done, Solar and Charles washed the dishes, his father watched TV, his mom was folding clothes and Eclipse and Azalea were playing with the pokemons on the field.

Eclipse looked over at Azalea, who was on her knees, playing with her parents' pokemon, alongside Zoroark as well. She took a deep breath and slowly decided to walk towards her. Azalea turned her head and noticed Eclipse looking at her, with a rather nervous expression.

"Is everything okay, Eclipse?" Azalea got up from her knees, not understanding why she had that expression plastered on her face.

"I was wondering..." Eclipse looked away, scratching the back of her head.

"Would you...would you like to have a battle with me?" She brought out her pokeball, to be more precise, Incineroar's pokeball.

"Were you nervous to tell me that?" Azalea let out a small laugh. "Of course, I'd love to." She nodded, accepting Eclipse's request.

The two of them went inside and saw the boys watching TV with Solar's parents.

"Excuse me, sorry to interrupt but we just want to inform you guys that Eclipse and I will go to the Pokemon center to have a pokemon battle." Azalea informed them.

"Ah I see, a pokemon battle can really calm your mind." Solar's father nodded.

"You girls have fun." Solar's mother smiled.

"We'll go with you girls too." Solar chuckled and Charles nodded.

"Alright, let's go." Azalea snickered.

The quadruplets once again went to their next destination, to the nearest pokemon center they go to! When they made it, Eclipse and Azalea went to the back and prepared their pokémon, Charles would be the referee and Solar would be the one to record the battle.

'Bring out your pokemon!"

"Incineroar, I choose you!"

Roar!

"I wonder if she's going to use a Z-Move?" Charles wondered, staring at the Z-ring on her wrist.

"Zoroark, I am counting on you to make this battle entertaining." Azalea placed her hand over Zoroark's head.

Zor, zoroark!

(You can count on me.)

"Battle begin!"

"Incineroar, use throat chop!" Both of Incineroar's hands glow purple and immediately charge at Zoroark.

"Zoroark, dodge it!" Zoroark was able to avoid the attack by taking a big jump.

"Heat the battlefield with your blast burn!" A big ball of red-oranges fire appeared in front of it's belt. Just by recharging, everyone was getting hot from the heat. Although it was hot, it was not as scorching as a certain fire type pokemon of Azalea.

"Night daze, let's go!" Zoroark slams her arms down into the ground and a pink and crimson glowing force field of energy appears, charging towards the blast burn that was coming.

Zoroark!

The burning blast burn of Incineroar and the powerful night daze of Zoroark collided with each other, which caused a lot of smoke. The more the two of them battled, the more Eclipse felt this little enjoyment and fun inside of her. It was a rather long battle, since none of them seemed to back down. It was getting late, Charles had to stop the battle and the quadruplets all rested up in the Pokemon center.

While everyone was asleep, Azalea secretly went back to the battlefield and trained Zoroark, both of them were all covered with dirt and bruises.

"Alright Zoroark let's-

The rotom phone echoed something from her pocket.

You have an incoming call from Arata's King

You have an incoming call from Arata's King

You have an incoming call from Arata's King

Azalea picked up her phone from her pocket, unsure if she should answer it or not but she pressed accept anyways.

Hello?

It's good to hear a familiar voice from time to time, wouldn't you agree?

What do you want, Darius?

What, I can't check up on Arata's Crimson Queen?

Told you to stop with that nickname already.

I'll stop until I see you on the battlefield in the tournament.

By the way, did you put me in the Masters 8 just because we weren't able to have a pokemon battle during the conference back in the Arata region?

That's one of the reasons, yes. But also because I want Galar to see that Leon's not the only one who has an overpowered team.

Prepare for your winning streak to be destroyed once I get there.

Let's see about that. Oh and by the way..

What now?

Leon seems to be a great guy, don't you think?

Shut up.

Anyways, I'll see you and Zoroark soon.

Bye, stranger.

Azalea ended the call. She let out a sigh, placing her phone back inside her pocket.

Zor, zoroark?

(Is that who I think it is?)

"Yup." Azalea nodded.

Both Azalea and Zoroark looked up to the sky, admiring the beautiful white dots in the sky, also known as stars.

"Let's show the world our true power." Azalea looked at Zoroark and offered a fist bump.

Zor!

(Yeah!)
