Rain and snow, although different, are surprisingly alike in many ways. Rain falls from the sky, as does snow. Some people look forward to rainy days, and some wait for the snowy ones. Many despise both, and yet many adore them. Both are made from water and clouds, and together they can bring both joy and anger to people, just like they can take it away. Both rain and snow can cause trouble to us as well. They cause many transportation difficulties and can harm, and sometimes even kill, unsuspecting people. Rain makes it harder to see out of the windshield of your vehicle, as does snow. Oftentimes we see the calmer, more gentle, side of these weather patterns, but there are many stronger and more powerful forms of them. Take rainstorms and snowstorms, these forms bring with them perilous winds. As was said previously, rain and snow have quite a few similarities, surprisingly.
Now that we've gone over the similarities, let's focus on the many contrasts. While rain is liquid, snow is frozen. Snow usually occurs during the winter, and it mostly never escapes it's season. Rain can occur all year round, although sometimes it has droughts. When you walk on snow, you never know if there will be ice underneath to slip on, but with rain, you usually can tell weather it's slippery or not. Rain, in its frozen state, can be skated on, but snow, on the other hand, cannot. Rain can create a romantic atmosphere, and a disgusting one as well. Snow can create a calming atmosphere, making one feel serene and peaceful, but it can also make one feel scared, alone, and COLD! Every snowflake is unique and different in its own way, but rain is just h2o in different quantities. So, as I said before, rain and snow contrast quite a bit.
