A Little Loth Cat
Alright well, This chapter was inspired by the time I found a litter of kittens in my back yard! I hope you enjoy!
Ezra was walking around outside with Kona, still a little ticked that she didn't help him the other day.
"You know Hera took my lightsaber for a week right?" Ezra said, walking with crossed arms.
"Aww poor baby Ezra! He got his wittle wighrsaber taken away?" Kona mocked in a voice that sounded as if she was talking to a baby.
"Shut up." Ezra said, glaring down at Kona.
"Oh, come on. You'll get it back before a week. You have to have it for missions."
"I don't think you've known Hera long enough. When she takes something away and sets a time, you're not getting it back until that time. Unless you screw up and do something stupid. Then she doubles the time." Ezra sighed.
"Well then just don't screw up for a week. I mean, yeah that will be hard because you're Ezra, but if you want your lightsaber back..." Kona trailed off.
Ezra put his hand on the side of Kona's face and pushed her sideways. "And you're still a little helpless puppy just like the day I found you!" Ezra smirked knowing he hit Kona's tender spot.
"Hey!" Kona flattened her ears. "I've grown a lot since then!"
"Have you?" Ezra asked.
"I can still bite you."
That's when Kona and Ezra heard rustling in the tall grass ahead of them. They took a few steps back, not wanting to be jumped on by a Storm Trooper. But what came bounding out of the grass was the farthest thing from a Storm Trooper.
A little Loth Cat kitten came bouncing towards Ezra and Kona.
"Aww!" Ezra cooed, leaning down to pick the kitten up.
Kona started to growl. "No don't touch it!" She started barking.
"Kona! Shh! What's the matter with you?" Ezra asked, putting his hand around her muzzle to make her stop barking.
The little light on Kona's collar lit up as her collar allowed her to talk. "Cats are evil! Don't touch that thing!" Kona pulled her muzzle out of Ezra's hand and growled viciously at the Loth Cat kitten.
"Kona, this is a kitten! It's not going to hurt anything!" Ezra said, turning and walking back towards the Ghost.
"Hey! Ezra! Where are you going with that thing? Don't tell me you're talking it home?!" Kona walked backwards in front of Ezra, asking him questions.
"Yes, Kona. I'm taking it home." Ezra tensed up, waiting for the flip out Kona was about to have.
"WHAT?! NO! NO NO NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT IT'S MY HOUSE AND I DON'T WANT A CAT IN IT!" Kona shouted furiously.
Ezra rolled his eyes and pat the husky on the head as he walked past her.
"It'll be fine, Kona."
Kona sat down and huffed. She looked up just in time to see the little Loth Cat peeking around Ezra's arm with an evil grin. Her ears shot up and she stared at the kitten as Ezra walked into the ship.
"W-wha...?" She asked out loud confused. She shook her head and figured she was seeing things. She slowly walked up the ramp and into the ship.
2 hours later...
After an hour and a half of begging, Hera had finally caved and let Ezra keep the Loth Cat kitten.
"What should we name him?" Sabine asked Ezra, picking up the kitten.
"I don't know." Ezra replied.
"How about Evil Little Rat That Never Should Have Existed?" Kona said with a growl as she turned around and laid down on the couch.
"Kona, cut it out. He didn't do anything to you!" Ezra said as the little kitten meowed.
"Awwww!" Sabine said, snuggling the kitten closer to her chest.
"That's not cute! What's wrong with you humans?! It's not cute, it's not sweet, it's not loyal, it's a cat!" Kona barked, getting mad.
"Calm down, Kona!" Ezra said, reaching his hand do towards Kona to pet her.
"No!" Kona shouted, swatting his hand away. "How about you pet your new little kittypet?" She sneered, jumping off of the couch and walking to the cockpit.
"What's her problem?" Sabine asked Ezra.
"I don't know." Ezra shrugged and scratched the kitten.
"Maybe she's jealous?" Sabine asked.
"I'll figure it out later. I think it's just the dogs having a grudge against cats things." Ezra replied.
"Yeah..." Sabine said.
30 minutes mater...
Ezra walked into the cockpit. "Kona?"
"What?" Kona asked looking up at him.
"What's the matter? Why are you so upset?" Ezra asked.
"Nothing. I'm fine." Kona turned around in her bed so her back was facing Ezra.
"Kona, I know you're not fine. Is it something about Scamp? You can tell me-"
"Scamp? Who's Scamp?!" Kona stoop up and spun back around.
"That's what we named the kitten." Ezra replied.
"You named that thing?!" Kona started to growl.
"Kona, we weren't just going to call him "Kitty"."
"Then get rid of him!"
"Kona, why don't you like him? What's the matter?" Ezra asked, getting concerned.
"I told you, I'm fine!" Kona shouted, stomping out of the cockpit.
Ezra sighed. "Well, that didn't go as I had hoped."
Kona walked into Ezra and Zeb's shared bedroom. She slowly walked up the small stairs that led to Ezra's bed. She laid down and closed her eyes, trying to calm down.
"Nice to finally meet you." A voice said from above Kona.
Kona shot up and looked around. "What? Who are you? Where are you?"
"Look up, you stupid dog." The voice replied.
Kona looked up and immediately started to snarl. "What are you doing in here?!" Kona said, trying not to start barking.
"What do you think? My bed is on this shelf." Scamp said, jumping down onto the bed in front of Kona.
"Well, this is my bed! Now go away!" Kona growled.
"Actually, this is Ezra's bed! Not yours."
"It's mine too!" Kona took a step closer to Scamp. "And so is Ezra. He's my human and mine only! And if you don't run away, there will be an accident. In flight." Kona snarled. "I know how to work the buttons for the ramp."
Scamp took a step back. "You do know Ezra would be mad at you if that happened." Scamp smirked. "And he would get rid of you. And only love me." Scamp's smirk grew wider. "He would hate you."
Kona snapped. She jumped forward snarling and barking. Scamp dodged her and jumped off of the bed. He ran out of the open door. Kona jumped off of the bed and ran after him. Using her nose, she knew where Scamp was going even though she couldn't see him because of how well he was hiding as he ran.
Scamp jumped out from behind a table and ran towards the cockpit where everyone was. "Sorry, dog. But the humans love me. And they will only love me!" He reached the door and jumped for the buttons but missed. He fell back to the floor and tried again. This time, he hit the button and the door slid open.
Kona jumped at Scamp, grabbing him with her paws as they both flew through the door way and slid on the floor. Kona landed on her paws and pinned Scamp down. She snarled and open her mouth, about the tear his throat out.
"KONA!" Everyone screamed.
Kona closed her mouth and looked around, still snarling. "He said he was going to make you only love him! He said you hate me!"
The crew of the Ghost looked around at each other.
"Kona..." Hera said, reaching towards her. "Let go of Scamp."
Kona growled and grabbed Scamp by the scruff of his neck. She backed away from Hera. "No! If I do, he'll make you hate me!" She said through her collar.
She ran towards the door and scratch at the buttons. The door slid open and she ran out carrying Scamp.
"Kona! Get back here!" Ezra shouted, chasing after her with everyone else close behind.
"Hera, go down that hall. Cut her off if she comes that way. Zeb, block the cockpit door. Kanan, don't let her pass through the hall with our bedrooms. Sabine, come with me." Ezra ordered everyone.
Sabine and Ezra ran down the hall after Kona. "What's wrong with her?!" Sabine whispered to Ezra.
"I don't know... She must be thinking that we won't like her anymore because there is another pet." Ezra whispered back.
At that moment, Kona darted in front of them and down the hall.
"Grab her!" Ezra shouted as they ran down the hall after her. They chased after Kona until they had her corners.
"Kona, it's ok. Just put Scamp down, and come here." Ezra kneeled down and open his arms.
Kona stared at him for a minute still growling, and then she stopped. She dropped Scamp and he landed on his back. Kona put her paw on his stomach and turned her collar off. She barked something to him.
"If you think you've won, you're mistaken. Ezra loves me even after what I was about to do. And if it weren't for him, I would have." Kona took her paw off of his stomach and put him on his paws. "But, I want to apologize. I would like to try and be friends if you're going to stay so I'm not tempted to rip your throat out."
Scamp stared at her in surprise. "Oh... Well... I guess so. And I'm sorry for what I said. Cats are like that. Always trying to one up the dog."
Kona smiled. "Don't worry about it." She turned her collar back on. "I'm sorry for what I did, guys. Hey, Ezra?"
"Yes?" Ezra asked.
"Do you think you could make Scamp a collar like mine?"
Ezra smiled. "Sure. As long as you promise not to try and kill him again."
Kona nodded. "I promise."
"Good." Ezra stood up and turned to walk back to the cockpit with everyone else. "Come on!" He pat his leg and Kona's tail swished a few times. She walked right next to Ezra with Scamp on her back.
"So the collar Ezra is going to make me... I will be able to talk like a human like you?" Scamp asked.
Kona nodded. "Yup! It's pretty helpful when you need something or you're hungry. You can just tell them."
Scamp smiled. "Cool!"
They reached the cockpit and Scamp stopped Kona. "They still love me more."
Kona's ears perked and she glared back at him.
Scamp smiled. "Just kidding!"
A/N- Hey look at that I actually updated in under a week! Man this chapter was a long one. I didn't count the pages but judging my the number of words, I think it's almost as long the last chapter was! Sorry about the little bit of violence in this chapter, one of the dogs I have now is so sweet but he will rip a cats head off. I don't remember Kona being like that, but I'm sure she was. Anyway, I'm pretty busy this weekend. I have a graduation party for a family friend tonight, friends on Saturday, and the raptor center on Sunday. I'll try to update Sunday night though.
Bye guys! ~Kaylie :)
