I ran inside the school, going to my first period class - history - and collapsed in my seat. I soon realized I was the only person in the room, and was going to be until the actual class bell rung. I sighed, running my fingers down my face, thoughts ringing my brain tired.
The only person I could think of that would own the Chevy is Adrian, since he's the only new kid at school, and I've never seen that beautiful car grace our crappy, pothole littered parking lot before. But my only question: how did he know where I lived, why does he have a C.H.P. sticker on his bumper, and why save me to begin with? I mean, I could guess why he'd save me - it's not like he'd want to see someone die, who would? Not me; not again.
But, still… the feeling of his arms, strong and sturdy, wrapped around my body lingered in my mind. I breathed steadily, trying to refocus as the bell rung, and people piled into the room around me, voices covering up my mental struggles. For once, I took solace in the sound.

After history - and countless questions about Crawley and what happened in his class - I moved on to gym. As soon as I walked through the doors, I heard my name called over the loud speaker. I hesitated, hoping the fitness teacher didn't notice me - but she did - because if she didn't, I would have hid in a bathroom stall reading something for the rest of the day, since I was kind of nervous to leave again - considering what happened last time.
I groaned as I walked forward, shoulders slumping slightly as Mrs. Dodge wrote me a pass, and handed me the paper. I took the note, spinning on my heel and walking slowly back out the doors, up the stairs, and into the principals office.
"Yes?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at Mr. Geoffrey, who was seated on his leather spinning chair - he had probably been waiting. "What'd you need me for? Because I'd really enjoy it if I could get back to my class-"
"Freya, please take a seat." He took his glasses off and placed them on his desk — presumably so there wasn't anything blocking his disapproving stare from reaching me. "We need to talk about the incident during Mr. Crawley's class earlier, and how you left school early two days in a row now."
"Oh. That." I blinked, not exactly thinking the school would care when it came to me. Then again, their reputation is on the line and the whole Crazie thing did start a bit of an uproar.
"Yes, that." Mr. Geoffrey sighed. "Please explain to me exactly what happened, in detail."
"I prepared a presentation on how the Crazie population are not to blame for America's problems - simple. There's no detail I have to get into. Crawley got pissed off-"
"Language, Freya," he corrected, interrupting me, which caused me to sarcastically reply.
"Oh, I'm sorry... Crawley got very, very angry." I said in a mock baby voice, the r's sounding more like w's. The Principal sighed, rubbing his temples irritability.
"Please, be serious."
"Well, he got mad, told me I failed - in front of the whole class - and I left. End of story."
"And why did you leave yesterday?"
"Yesterday? I felt like it."
"Freya, it has come to my understanding that there is a boy you have had… interactions with before." I scoffed. He made it sound like sex.
"Yes, if by interactions you mean the whole reason I'm still alive to this day, sure."
"Well, nevertheless I understand that these past few days must be difficult, with certain memories coming up, however there is no need to fear Adrian Pastella, as his Crazie powers are gone. The Crazie Help Program ensured us with that information, so don't worry - they are all good people doing their jobs."
"Yes, of course." I smiled fakely, and stood. Why the hell would I fear the one thing that saved me? And why would I be glad that it was taken away? Why should anyone be glad that something that was a vital part of someone was being forced away from them? I gathered my thoughts and spoke quickly. "Now I must be going. Math starts soon."
"Okay, Freya. And if you need any help with your issues, come and see me."
"Will do." I slung my bag over my back and almost sang hallelujah when I left his room.
