Chapter Twenty-Four: Saying Goodbye
Instead of going to the attic, Andy put us in his car and drove us somewhere. That somewhere would be Bonnie's house. Why are we here? Andy took us out of the car and walked up to the house. Well, I'm only guessing at this point. He told Bonnie's mum that he was here to give us to Bonnie. Wait, really? Couldn't have picked a better kid! This was the conversation;
"So, you're Bonnie?" Andy put the box down, "I'm Andy. Someone told me you're really good with toys. These are mine, but I'm going away now, so I need someone really special to play with them."
Andy opened the box and took each one of us out one by one to show Bonnie. But what he had to say about us will forever make me smile.
"This is Jessie, the roughest, toughest cowgirl in the whole West. She loves critters, but none more than her best pal, Bullseye!" Andy made a horse noise, "This is Rex the meanest, most terrifying dinosaur who ever lived!" Andy rawred, "The Potato Heads; Mr. and Mrs. You gotta keep 'em together, 'cause they're madly in love. Now Slinky here is as loyal as any dog you could want. And Hamm he'll keep your money safe, but he's also one of the most dastardly villains of all time, evil Dr. Pork Chop. These little dudes are from a strange alien world: Pizza Planet."
Maddie's turn, "This is Lady America but her real name is Maddie Rogers. She's a leader of a group of special people called 'The Avengers'. She went to fight in World War Two but was too ill to train or fight. So she let scientists use a serum on her that made her stronger, faster, and the first Super Solder to exist. But she was frozen in ice after a mission at the end of the war. She woke up in the future where she's trying to adjust to our world. So I'm hoping you can help her learn about our world."
My turn, "Now this is (Y/N) Destler but she also goes by 'The Phantom of the Opera', or 'The Opera Ghost'. She's a musician who wrote a whole musical just for her lover; Christopher Daae. I don't have Christopher but I think you can find someone new to be her Angel of Music. She even has a few outfits you can dress her up in. But don't take her mask off in front of the others. She's very self-conscious about her disfigurement."
I think 'self-conscious' is a bit of an understatement but I'll accept it. Andy gave me and my outfits to Bonnie and took out Buzz
"And this," Andy made Buzz fly out, "is Buzz Lightyear, the coolest toy ever! Look, he can fly and shoot lasers! He's sworn to protect the galaxies from the Evil Emperor Zurg"
Bonnie took Buzz from Andy and pressed a button on his chest causing his voice box to activate]
"Now, you gotta promise to take good care of these guys," Andy said, "They mean a lot to me."
Bonnie put some of us down and went over to the box to see Woody. Andy took him out, confused as to how he got in there. Bonnie told him one of Woody's voice-box phrases and Andy pulled Woody's pull-string making him say the same thing. Bonnie reached out for Woody but Andy pulled him away in hesitation which made Bonnie sad. Andy looked at Bonnie then at Woody
"Now, Woody, he's been my pal for as long as I can remember. He's brave like a cowboy should be. And kind. And smart. But the thing that makes Woody special is he'll never give up on you. Ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what. You think you can take care of him for me?" Bonnie nods in response
And finally, after years of waiting, Andy played with us one last time. I've missed this so much. But, alas, Andy had to leave. And that last playtime was the perfect goodbye. Andy waved goodbye and then drove away to college. Bonnie went inside to have lunch and we all unfroze. Goodbye, Andy. I'll miss you. But thank you for giving me a home. Woody and I then started to introduce everyone to Bonnie's toys.
More additions to the family. And things only got better. We were being played with again every single day and it was amazing. Even Sunnyside got better. With Barbie and Ken running the place, Sunnyside became Sunny again. And the Caterpillar kids were no trouble anymore. Everyone took turns dealing with them every day. But, with us, we all got along with Bonnie's toys. She even drew us to put on her wall.
And, hey, Chuckles finally started smiling again. We even had some small adventures along the way. Like getting kidnapped by a lizard in a motel, making our own Hawaii here for Barbie and Ken to go on a date, and even trouble with a little fast-food Buzz Toy. But something I loved was that we were putting on plays when Bonnie was asleep or away. And I got to both direct and occasionally play in them. Though I did have to teach Pricklepants how to act better.
But something we did have fun with was Buzz's Spanish mode. I once put on a CD with Spanish music, making Buzz dance. Of course, Maddie soon joined and they had a little dance. But everything was great. And we couldn't ask for more. Well, I still want to confess to Woody. Andy wanted me to find a new Angel of Music. I found him years ago, I just can't have him. His heart belongs to Bo and I respect that. So, it's best for me to just step away and enjoy what I have. But our story is still far from over. Well, at least my side of it isn't.
(Quick A/N: In case you didn't read the description, I'm not writing Toy Story 4. I personally don't like it and it ruins the Woody X Reader part of this story. I'm writing my own things from here. Just thought I'd give that reminder before I continued the story)
